consistantly good burgers, consistantly friendly staff

by eriksolo

I have been going to Lucky's about once a week for almost three years so I figured it was time to write a review.

I have always had a good burger there. The thing I like about them is that I have never been served with a tomato end (stem side) on them or the part of the onion that is impossible to chew or a pickled stem of a cucumber. Doesn't seem major but think about how many burgers or sandwiches you have had in this city where you have to reach into your mouth and pick offending bits out. That experience will always ruin a burger and this has just never happend to me at Lucky's.

Fries can be always hard to make especially if one is new to using the fryer. I do not remember fries being soggy ever though as often as I eat there it probably happend at some point.

Their staff is always friendly. The training for customer service must be good there or they just interview well..I don't know. But it is always nice to go there for this reason and the burgers. Even when there are brand new staff they are always very nice people. The managment of Lucky's could give other places in NYC some lessons in getting good staff.

  • Pros: burgers, fries, drink refills, chocolate shakes, staff
  • Cons: rickety chairs..sometimes.

I LOVE LUCKYS!

by louwho

Great little neighborhood burger joint. Friendly staff, good cheese fries and pretty cheap too. They have Boylan sodas which are awesome, maybe not the best burgers on earth as they claim, but pretty tasty anyway.Good place to get a bite after a night out in HK.

  • Pros: Quick, tasty, cheap
  • Cons: can't eat burgers and fries everyday.

Fast food at its best

by spuffylover24

I've been to Luckys a couple of times but after my visit yesterday I had to write a review. I stopped in with my husband and friend last night before going off to a show. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our burgers were cooked to perfection and the fries are great with the special sauce and chipotle mayo. One side of cheese sauce was more then enough for our double order of fries. I will definitely be back and back and back. I've never had such great service in what is more or less a fast food joint. This is the closest I've gotten to In N out on the East Coast.

  • Pros: Great, fast, food
  • Cons: the place is a little small, but seats usually open up as you're waiting for food.

Just ordered for the 3rd time in 8 days... Surprisingly AWEsome!!

by marcusallencooper

My girlfriend did a NYC burger trek last year and some of the highly rated burgers were horrific!! We've had great ones like the neighborhood's Island Burger, but for consistency AND juicyness. These were AWESOME!! Don't tell my GF that I used that word, AWESOME as she thinks I'm just some old guy, but they were (Beef & Turkey get HIGH marks!). The toppings from cheddar, mushroom, bacon & grilled onions to the lettuce, tomato & pickle: ALL were fresh and worthwhile.

As for their onion rings & shakes, VERY tasty and a great addition. Next time she will try the veggie burger & we'll have to try the fries for ourselves, but don't don't walk... run there, to your phone or even your computer. I ordered through SeamlessWeb and it was EASY.

Enjoy,

The CooPro

  • Pros: Beef & Turkey burgers were quite Juicy along with the fresh toppings
  • Cons: NONE that I've seen, yet.

Great turkey burgers

by cwmmh

I'm addicted to Lucky's double turkey burgers!! I've tried their hamburgers but much prefer the turkey burgers. Don't forget to use the special sauce.... I'm completely hooked on that sauce. Their french fries, on the other hand, were dissapointing. I usually take my burgers to go since the place is small and very yellow. The guys who work the counter are great and the food comes out fast.

  • Pros: Great turkey burgers, food comes out fast, good price

Best Burgers in NYC!!!

by mkdiamond

I miss your now-closed East Village location. I used to treat myself every Friday night to a burger and fries. Anywho, glad you have a mid-town location, as well. Your burgers are fantastic and your fries are always fresh and tasty. What is your secret? (I heard a rumor about cold smoke???)

  • Pros: All Pros!!!
  • Cons: No Cons!!!

Fantastic

by willit63

Luckys Famous does a great burger. Very tasty and not over cooked as others claim. The fries, onion rings and shakes are also outstanding. My only complaint is that the onions on the burger are too strong and the thin leaf lettuce is completely wilted. Prices are no higher than the local pub but the taste is much better. The decor is very bright and cheerful and the service is quick and pleasant. This is my favorite burger in town and I'm thinking about having one right now.

  • Pros: Delicious!
  • Cons: Very strong onions and wilted lettuce.

In a league of it's own!

by fanofafan

I loved Lucky Burger. Aside from the freshest tasting burger I've had in a very long time, the onion rings were fantastic and the service was uncommonly friendly. I would not be surprised if the last reviewer is associated with Lucky's competition in the neighborhood. I look forward to returning.

  • Pros: Great food, friendly service
  • Cons: Too bright

Delicious, friendly, genuis.

by sfallterbam

I read the other reviews on this site and I had to see for myself. Luckys Famous was fantastic. From the moment I walked in I was impressed. The decor is out of this world. Modern chic and so colorful. I was greeted by a friendly counter man as soon as I stepped in. I ordered the Luckys Bacon BBQ cheeseburger. Unreal! The bacon was crispy and the burger was dripping with a fantastic smokey flavor. The lettuce was fresh and they use thick ripe tomatoes! They also had a hot sauce that was better than any I've ever had. The fries were great! Nobody serves crinkle cuts anymore but they do, and they are great with the hot sauce. I don't know what the other reviewers were thinking but they couldn't have been further off the mark. Luckys Famous is so worth the trip. You guys have a fan forever!!!! 5 stars guys! Keep it up...

Sally.
