The food is mediocre the service is just HORRIBLE. We ordered lemonades and pizza. I had always stuck to the burger in the past (ordered "to go" 2 times before), so I wanted to try something else that they offer. They took a while to get the lemonades to us and when the drinks arrived my friend's had a HUGE insect floating in her drink! That is pretty unappetizing in itself, but to be fair we thought that perhaps the insect flew in because the doors were open, and not the alternative- that their sanitary habits are disgusting. Anyway, it just went downhill from there. We told our waitress and she didn't even flinch. She just asked if we wanted another lemonade. What? We asked for bottled water... she brought tap. The pizza was laughable. I could get better just about ANYWHERE in NYC! Awful sauce, awful crust, awful taste. I ordered a type of pizza that is supposed to have arugula and radicchio that had NO arugula/radicchio on it- it had neither. The plain lettuce that DID end up on the pizza had dressing on it... it was a bad combination that was not stipulated on the menu. My friend's pizza indicated it had tomato sauce according to the menu, but came with no tomato sauce. What kind of business are they running? After the bad food, the lack of service (she never came by again after dropping off the pizzas), we were ready to go. Of course, they ended up charging us for 2 lemonades even though we didn't drink 2 lemonades because of the insect experience. I told her about the "error" and she just snatched the check and hand wrote "total minus 3 dollars." I love trying new foods and different places and I'm certainly not a frequent complainer, but this place is not worth it. We left no tip and got out of there. You've been warned.

Pros: if you get your protien from insects, this place is for you.

Cons: service and food.

this place is my favorite restaurant in new york. first of all, skip the fries, theyre mediocre and the burger will fill you up. the buffalo burger is the best, its big and juicy and paired with the mango salsa, its heaven. a respectable selection of toppings and burger options make it really fun to try and imagine which combination will be the most delicious. ostrich with avocado and pepper jack cheese is another delicious choice. and now to the cupcakes. they are big and moist and 10 times better than places like magnolia. i had the chocolate raspberry, which was as beautiful as it was tasty. dinner was about $30 for two, (2 burgers, fries, and drinks), which isnt too bad, especially for the utter deliciousness of the food. service was decent.

Pros: deliciousness!, decent prices

Cons: fries arent great here

Reading the reviews here before going, I expected a mediocre meal. I didn't see how anybody could ruin something as simple and delicious as burgers and cupcakes. To start off, the floor of the place was covered with wood shavings for some reason. After being seated, an cranky pregnant waitress waddled over and begrudgingly took my order. After disappearing for a good half an hour, I got my food. The staff all seem to think they're too good to be working there or something, acting bored, lazy, and stupid. The food was okay (nothing special) and the cupcakes are ridiculously expensive. I paid something like 4 dollars for a cupcake half the size of my fist. Bad service, bad atmosphere (the place is across the street from a sad looking parking area), and average food. Don't bother, not even just for the novelty.

Pros: Novelty idea

Cons: Everything else

A friend and I stopped in for a couple of cupcakes after eating at Manganero's down the block from this place. The waitress seemed stumped about what to do when customers arrive. The second waitress was busy "chillin'". We did eventually get coffee and a couple of cupcakes (which are like $6 each), and they were great, but the lack of motivation on the part of our stubby waitress was annoying. A visit that should have taken 10-15 minutes was strung out for way too long. I probably will go back, because the cupcakes are great, especially after a nice hero from Manganero's but I will make it a "to go" order.

Pros: Very good cupcakes

Cons: Mildly retarded waitstaff.

This place needs to clean up their act. I was fancying a cupcake one recent saturday afternoon so I walked into the establishment in question, marched right up to the counter with a smile and waited to be served. There were no less than six staff members behind the counter sporting sour apple grimaces on surly faces. The place was empty and they were all just standing around staring at the floor, which made it difficult to get noticed. I had to say, "excuse me" about 4 times to get one of the sourpusses to look up and acknowledge me. In the end, no cupcake is worth that much grief!

Pros: Value

Cons: Service, Ambience

This restaurant is WAY WAY WAY too hyped up. First, it took forever for me to get seated when the restaurant was EMPTY. The waiter was not attentive. The cupcake was TINY and DRY and $2. I could make better cupcakes myself out of a BOX. The burger was small and $6 with no fries. I could have been more satisfied at McDonalds, and I don't eat at McDonalds.

Pros: Novelty

Cons: SO NOT WORTH IT

We had lunch and cupcakes here. The restaurant is not cozy; it's more like a snack bar, and right across the street from a parking lot. The burgers were good, especially the turkey burgers. They were out of onion rings and several kinds of sodas. We tried almost all the kinds of cupcakes; they were fine, but Magnolia's are better. If you are going here because you want a lunch place in this neighborhood, it's fine; if you are going for cupcakes or burgers, you are better off at a different place.

Pros: Good turkey burgers and bacon

Cons: Gross location, ambience, mediocre cupcakes, tiny tables and no booths
