accessorize your mac and cheese
by mabstb
we figured this was a safe bet for dining with kids - it's mac and cheese after all! they split a medium sized "all-american" while the adults each managed an medium sized dish. mine with figs, brie and rosemary was a great twist an otherwise quite banal dish. the cajun was ok. you can also aparently build-your-own , adding toppings ala pizza until your palate is content. dinner for 4 (2 kids) was <$40. we'd go back.
- Pros: good for kids, reasonable prices, options!
- Cons: crowded, a/c was very windy, loud
Rude Service and Overpriced
by keithgauger
On my way to enter one of the employees lingered in the doorway yelling to his friend down the street before letting me in. No apology or even recognition that a restaurant should welcome a customer.
The cashier seemed barely interested in taking my order and was more concerned with solidifying her evening plans with her friend (who was talking loudly on her walkie-talkie, bee-beep! kind of cell phone).
While I ate, the kitchen and counter staff were yelling loudly to each other and to friends, frequently cursing. There was also a delivery problem because the cashier had written down an incomplete address and no phone number - how do I know this? Because the staff argued and joked about it for nearly the whole time I was there. It was clear that the kids running the place thought it was OK to treat the customers as secondary to their primary goal of having a good time.
I ordered the medium sized the four cheese with broccoli and got literally four small pieces of broccoli. The multigrain noodles were rubbery. If I paid five bucks for my meal it would still bother me to eat in such an atmosphere, but since I paid fifteen (including $1.75 for a can of soda) AND the food was mediocre, it was totally frustrating.
I won't be returning to this place and I recommend skipping it if you are tempted to give it a shot. There's plenty of better options in the neighborhood.

- Pros: um, the bathroom was relatively clean
- Cons: rude employees and unimpressive, expensive food
Awesome food, staff can be a little rude
by wickywahwah
Good concept, and the food is great. I personally love the buffalo chicken one... the only drawback is that they don't deliver to our place because it's ONE street outside of their "delivery area" and the staff can sometimes be rude. Other than that, I recommend that you try it out if you haven't.
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: Staff can be rude sometimes, Small space
Horrible. Appalling. Rude.

I recently called for delivery from S'Mac. First of all you have to go through Delivery dot com to place an order through their web site, which totally didn't work. I finally called to place the order. The person who took my order spoke very quickly, didn't listen to the order, kept interrupting me and was a complete d**k about it. I asked him if he wanted to read my credit card information back to me so I could make sure he'd gotten it right and there wouldn't be any problems. He said he couldn't, he'd already run the card through. Well, if it went through, he must have gotten it right, I figured. No. Instead he sends a delivery guy who asks me for my credit card numbers. I called S'Mac and asked why this was happening. The "manager" through whom I placed the order said he had voided my credit card, but he hadn't sent the voided receipt with the delivery person, instead he sent the receipt that reflected that my card had been charged. When I tried to explain why I had asked him to read my credit card numbers back to me, he kept interrupting and told me I "wouldn't get s**t". I have NEVER been treated so poorly by an establishment in my life, and I worked in restaurants for 10 years. Do yourself a favor and NEVER order from here.
- Pros: None
- Cons: RUDE. RUDE. RUDE.
Appalling service!

We ordered delivery from S?mac, they took our order and, after an hour, the delivery still had not arrived. When we called we were told that this was *our fault* because we never gave our number -- even though they never asked for our number. They informed us that our food was already on its way. After another thirty minutes we called to inquire the status of our order and were told that our food actually had not left. This inability to deliver food on time or at all is appalling and unacceptable in New York or anywhere.
- Pros: mac and cheese, need we say more?
- Cons: horrible, horrible service
Really delicious
by wannabefoodie
Now this is good mac n cheese!! Supermac in Chelsea is not good. This place has a great variety on its menu and also gives the option of creating your own. The breadcrumbs did not dry it out and it was very cheesy, greasy, and delicious - everything you expect from true mac and cheese!
It's not easy being cheesy!

When you are craving for mac n' cheese, and don't feel like or know how to make it yourself, this is the place to go! Very cheesy, oily, and hot!!! Not for people who are are scared of carbs, or on funny diets! I've tried the alpine which is swiss cheese with bacon, not a swiss cheese fan but this was pretty yummy! and my usual is cheeseburger mac n' cheese. Too scared to try anything else, once had a bf who tried buffalo chicken and I didn't like...but he was greedy so he of course ate it. Of course you have to get the breadcumbs on top (optional) which makes it have a cripy top. Avoid Thurs/Fri eve's or night, NYU students are there, it's crammed with people. Or call ahead for pick up-easy reheat container for when you get home.
- Pros: crave satisifier
- Cons: Not all menu options are good be careful what you order/crowded with NYU Stu's
Decent Mac & Cheese
by callisto
I tried the Gruyere Mac & Cheese with the breadcrumbs on top. It included the bacon. I expected the crispy bacon but it was the dry lumps of bacon that I don't particularly like. The mac & cheese overall was pretty good, not as cheesy or tasty as I would have liked but I had to try it at least once. Ordered the largest size & shared btwn 2 ppl & we had leftovers. I would give it a try again just to see if the other flavors are better. The seating is crapped in there & not very comfortable & not the cleanest either.
- Pros: Decent mac n cheese
- Cons: cramped space, not very flavorful
don't get too excited...
by downtownsuperstar
for a place that only makes mac & cheese, this place was surprisingly mediocre. i went w/ a friend who shares my love for mac & cheese... after much anticipation, we were done after a few bites. i've only been there once w/ no plans to return so, so maybe they were just having an off day... or something.
- Pros: friendly staff
- Cons: mediocre mac & cheese
