The spa didn't pay salary to employees
by msglover at Citysearch
After talking with some employees, I realized that this spa still owed employees's salaries. They took advantages of their own employees. I think they can not be successful for this business in the future.
- Pros: good image
- Cons: all of their images are fake.
Real Thai Style Massage!
by IVYang at Citysearch
My husband and I were given a spa cert for our wedding last year and we only got to use it over the weekend. It looked like a small spa from outside but when we entered, it was really gorgeous. I loved the ginger tea and hot towels they served us, and we both had booked the traditional thai massages. I've had a knot on my back for a while now and when I told my therapist (april, i think, is her name) she really worked on it! I thought i would be battered but when I stepped out of the room, I was surprised that I could really move my shoulder around without that crazy pain anymore! Impressive. Even my husband (he is not a spa fanatic) thought his massage wasn;t so bad afterall (he had another female therapist) for a thai massage 1st-timer. I saw some complaints on this site and i'm glad my experience was a great one! The front desk girls were quite nice acatually.... courteous, so really we didn't have any complaints! Thanks BJ for the gift!
- Pros: Professional, real thai techniques, ambiance, location
Unprofessional
by Chang at Citysearch
I won't come back again!!! I got very disappointed about my massage just like they never had experience before. And I called to make a reservation with another trerapist also tell that I request thai female but I didn't get it. The front desk does not understand what I said. Inside of the room too noisy. When I left they didn't say thank you. Very disappointed !!!!
very unpleasant experience
by yoopino at Citysearch
My therapist was not Thai, he probably was German. Regardless, the massage was not good at all, making it worst is that the rooms are not private so I heard everything from the rooms next door. The decor is very nice but having rooms with walls that do not go all the way up is pointless and having masseuse that are not good makes the experience very frustrating and upsetting because the place is not cheap. On your way out you feel that they rush you by letting you sit on those leather chairs while they stick the bill on your face while you are still putting your shoes. ANd they check several times to see if you have finish paying the bill for the very bad service they have.
Most reviews of this place are misleading. I think only one person was honest and perhaps a real customer instead of a friend of the location.
- Pros: Very nice decor
- Cons: Bad quality massage, no privacy, expensive
Best Spa Experience!
by Serena81 at Citysearch
I was introduced to Thai Privilege Spa by Time Out New York as 1 of the best spas in Manhattan. I decided to try Thai massage because the deal they did offer in Time Out sounded more interesting to me. After I got a massage yesterday, i felt like i was immersed into a heaven. Everything is perfect! I will definitely come back there again and bring my friends to join my experience.
- Pros: Excellent massage and attentive staffs
- Cons: Advanced booking is a must
Worst Valentine's Day Ever
by Rivington107 at Citysearch
I used to love Thai Privelege Spa. That is, of course, until they ruined my Valentine's Day this past weekend. I called the days before THREE times to confirm my reservation for two people in the VIP room (two massage tables, 1 room). I was incredibly annoyed that the reservation was at 10am but being in the same room was a must as this spa experience would be a first for my boyfriend. Travelling all the way from Long Island, we finally get to the spa after an hour commute only to find out that the reservation was made on their end for separate rooms. We weren't presented with this unpleasant surprise until we were brought to the rooms. After I pointed out the discrepancy, the staff proceeded to argue with me in the quiet halls of the spa - clearly disturbing all of their clients not to mention aggravating me further to know that they couldn't even pull me to the side. My boyfriend, who was already freaked out by the experience, was even MORE disturbed after hearing me go back and forth with the staff for a full 15 minutes. With no other option (or compensation on Thai Privelege's part), we ended up getting the worst massages of our lives in separate rooms. I had no "Plan B" (nor should I have needed one) or gifts for my boyfriend so I had no choice but to try and stay calm to not upset him any further. Additionally and even more disturbing, after telling a colleage (who also had a reservation for the VIP room on V-day) what happened, he said that they did the same thing to him and his boyfriend!! Unbelievable! Unfortunately for Thai Privelege, I would not recommend this spa to anyone.
- Pros: Ambience
- Cons: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
I can't find anything better.
by Rex1900 at Citysearch
Trust me, I've tried to find a replacement place but I can't find anything better. This place takes you to another place. It takes you to Thailand.
- Pros: Only Thai classical music place I know of.
- Cons: If you don't need the foot scrub tell them and you'll get more massage.
It can change your life

I was ecstatic when I found Thai Privilege spa. It's a lovely, peaceful place. You receive ginger tea and sandals when you arrive. The therapist washes your feet. And then you are treated to an expert session (I recommend 1 1/2 hours at least). Afterwards more tea, and you leave in total bliss. Thai massage is quite different from other massage forms, as the therapist puts his/her whole body into stretching your muscles, compressing your joints, and opening up the spine. It's also known as "lazy man's yoga," since the results feel similar to those of an intense yoga class. I have found the positive effects of these massages are noticeably present for weeks after. Thai Privilege is definitely worth checking out because the staff is extremely skilled--some or all trained in Thailand. And along with all of the other benefits, you'll feel like you've been transported to another land for a couple of hours.
- Pros: Ambience, Skilled staff
The Royal Treatment
by bernadettelongino at Citysearch
I went in to get a traditional Thai massage and came out feeling like I could take a jog around the world. Not only was I stretched and massaged in the best feeling ways, but the linen clothes, music, decor, and masseuse, ginger tea, foot soak, sandals, and warm wash clothes made the entire experience as comfortable as could be. I would go back anytime and recommend Thai Privilege to anyone I know looking for rejuvenating, healthy, and exotic experience.
- Pros: menu, staff, decor, treatment, location
The most luxurious and friendly spa experience ever!!!
by chrissier at Citysearch
Actually, some spa therapies do leave you with marks, but they'll only last a few days. for example, I tired Cupping therapy at another spa and loved it even though that meant covering my back for a few days. Aroma therapy is a full massage, so if there's a knot somewhere, it's the duty of masseuse to get rid of it. the plus with aromatherapy is the scent of the burning essential oil you picked. I'm in love with Thai Privilege's Thai massage: i've never left a spa feeling so stretched and flexible! don't even get me going on their warm claypot massage. Pretty soon my firends and I will start a "Thai Privilege Anonymous" club lol!
What you should do next time you go is tell them you want your massage extra light even if that means leaving knots in there. Not the best for your muscles though...
that place is amazingly beautiful, never seen anything like it. And it does seem like the staff is walking on clouds. PLus, could they be any nicer?!! Didn't think a spa could translate luxury and attentiveness to that extent. U should definitely try them again.
- Pros: Decor, environement, pampering
- Cons: would want more facials on list
