My dog Buddy has been going to the Paw Stop on a daily basis for just over 4 months. Before we moved to the neighborhood, he had been going to the same place for almost 6 years, so I was admittedly a bit nervous about getting started at a new place. After visiting several facilities in Tribeca, it was clear to me that the Paw Stop was by far the best choice. The facilities are clean, the staff is friendly, thoughtful and compassionate, and their pricing and policies are both fair and comprehensive. I believe the staff has a genuine affection for my dog, which has helped me to feel more than comfortable with the services in a very short period of time. In addition to regular day care, Buddy has boarded there two times for a period of several days quite comfortably. An incident during one day care session involving my dog and another at the facility, although unfortunate, was handled swiftly and with great care and concern by the staff. My dog is thrilled to be taken there every morning and I really feel as if the staff is genuinely happy to see him (and me). I came to the Paw Stop with very high expectations of what a doggie day care should be, and I am happy to say that I have had those expectations met here.

Pros: Great service and staff. Clean. Fair pricing. Genuine affection for my dog.

Cons: Wish walks were included in the prices. Wish they were open a bit later on weekends.

Going to Pawstop for about 2 years now. They are the very best at what they do. Would never think of taking my dog anywhere else. The dedication and individual care he gets is light years above what other places do. (and yes that means Biscuits and Bath) very friendly staff and very very capable of taking care of him. Some places just follow the dogs around with a mop...they actually take the time to play with all the dogs, making sure they are fed and giving them the rest when needed after meals.Leaving him for vacations, Grooming and Baths are never a problem. Ability to watch him from a web camera is a plus!! Great Job to the Pawstop!!!! I have been to others beforehand and no one comes near you in taking care of my pet and most of all my friend!

Pros: Everything is a Pro....they deserve it!!!!

Cons: Wish they would open up more places!!!!

I have been taking my dog Jello to The Paw Stop since it opened. She loves it. I love it. Jello goes in with her tail wagging, can't wait to say hi to the people and to see which of her dog friends are there. The people are caring and observant. They pay attention to the dogs and what they are doing, and are active in their play. They don't just stand off to the side with the mop. They play, they pet them, they treat them like they are their own dogs. Once Jello and another dog got a bit rambunkious and my dog got a small cut on her ear. (kids!). I received a call on my cell telling me about it, saying they cleaned and put anti-bacterial cream on the cut, and asked if I wanted her taken to the vet. I declined the vet visit, I took their word that it wasn't a big cut, and was told she and the other dog were being given time-outs. When I picked her up I was again told about the cut, asked if I thought she seemed alright, they were more worried than I was. The next day I got another phone call asking how Jello was. These people care! They don't try to ignore problems, they try to fix them. I absolute faith that my dog, whom I have raised since she was 6 weeks old and is my baby, is very well taken care of. And even more proof is how much she loves being there, and how tired she is when she comes home. She is worn out from all of the play. The Paw Stop is my number one choice for doggie day care.

Pros: friendly people who are well trained and care about the dogs like their own.

My German Shepherd (Candy) has been coming here for just as long as I have had her (she is 3.5 years old now). Even after moving from downtown Manhattan to NJ, I still bring her in twice a week on average. The care and supervision is top notch. The staff is very knowledgable on training (behavior issues) and general care. I have used their boarding services a several times without incident and the staff is quite flexible with any special requests I have made. They also have pick up and drop off service available if needed. They also have contact with many of local vets in the area to ensure all the pets keep their vaccinations up to date. They also have one of the cleanest facilities I have ever seen, complete with a redundant HVAC system that can exchange and filter the air several times over in day and a staff that diligently cleans both playrooms every day (you can catch them on the webcams around 5-6pm). Much better than the dirty mop in a bucket I have seen other daycares in the area use. Some things to keep in mind if you do bring your dog here (or any daycare/boarding facility): - Keep your dog's vaccinations up to date! This simple task will keep your dog from contracting and more importantly, infecting any other dog when they are in contact with others in and out of daycare. Just like a children's daycare or your own workplace, dogs can pass stuff back and forth. - If you board your dog, have them groomed the day you will pick them up. They are dogs after all and will tumble, roll around and slobber each other as they play. The Paw Stop's resident groomer is excellent and Candy always comes back clean and fluffy. - Your dog will be tired! It's quite normal for them to just want to sleep that night. - Daycare is a great way to keep your dog socialized. It will keep them from developing aggressive and/or destructive behavior. - Talk to the staff! It's the best way to keep a small issue from becoming a needlessly big issue.

Pros: Late hours for daycare. Walking distance to 3 dog parks. Ideal if you live/work in downtown.

This is a great place to bring your dog to socialize. The grooming services are four stars. You can also keep an eye on your pooch while in the office with the doggie cams. Warm and friendly staff that shows true love for our furry loved ones.

Pros: Open late

The Paw Stop is the best Doggy Daycare in NYC. Their staff is caring and loving towards all of the dogs. Upon arrival, they greet our dog by name and take him into the playroom. They really do care and love our dog - he is not just another fee to them. Their facilities are top notch, with separate rooms for small and big dogs. Our little guy is in the small dog room where he plays with 25 of his buddies every week day. They feed him dinner every night and make sure he gets enough water throughout the day. They also drop him off at night, which is a major convenience. We can watch him throughout the day on the webcam, which is essential and an absolute requirement for anyone who uses doggy daycare on a regular basis because it shows the conditions of the room, the frequency of the clean-ups, the attentive staff, etc. The Paw Stop makes our lives easier by providing amazing, reliable service for our little guy. We have been customers for over 6 months now, and plan on being customers for as long as we live nearby. By the way, there are several doggy daycare facilities in closer proximity, but they are not as good as The Paw Stop. Their playrooms are either too small or the staff is not as attentive and loving towards their dogs. I do not have any criticisms or negative attributes to point out. It is just great. My wife and I could not survive without The Paw Stop.

Pros: Customer Service, Facilities, Range of Services Offered

Cons: NONE

Recently I boarded my 8-month-old puppy for the first time while I was away for the weekend. A friend recommended The Paw Stop, and after seeing the great reviews here, I made a reservation. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. When I dropped my dog off, one of the staff members took him into the playroom to make sure there weren't any problems with the other dogs while I observed. They were also happy to administer his eye medication for a small charge and stored his carrier so I didn't have to lug it home and then back again. However, when I picked him up 3 days later, I was a little surprised to find that he was very grungy - even though he had been playing with other dogs for 3 days, he hadn't been cleaned at all (not even a wipe-down). Next time, I'll consider paying for a bath. When we got home, my dog fell asleep for 5 straight hours (which is not normal for him). I chalked it up to him being tired from so much playing, but later that night, he began exhibiting signs of giardia. Sure enough, when I took him into the vet, he had giardia! My friend who recommended The Paw Stop had a similar experience recently where her two dogs came home with giardia after being boarded there. I understand that the staff can't be expected to know if a dog is sick if it isn't showing signs of illness, but I wrote this review because I underestimated the risk of my dog getting sick while being boarded, and I think it's important to be aware of the possibility. In the future, I will definitely factor in the extra cost of diagnosis and treatment when considering whether to board my dog.

Pros: friendly staff, convenient location

Cons: sick dogs!

Many times customers who have never owned or boarded a dog before do not fully understand the expectations for care when they drop their dogs off at a facility like ours. We are diligent in our efforts to keep our place clean and the dogs healthy and safe. The fact is that Pet Parents have their dogs stay with us because they want them to be well cared for and have fun. We watch them carefully and try to care for them as you would yourself. Dogs do play here all day and interact with other dogs. The natural stress of being away from you in a strange environment plus the exercise will make them tired and even a little grungy. They often do not stop playing until they get home which is why you will see them sleep for such a long period of time when they do. We are very sorry that your dog got sick. That certainly was not the intention. If we could have prevented it, we would have taken . . . PLEASE VISIT www.thepawstop.com/funstuff-doggiedancorner.aspx for remaining thoughts.

Our dog had been to quite a few daycare/boarding/grooming stores before we found The Paw Stop. We kept trying new places because we never felt 100% satisfied, but the first time we walked into The Paw Stop (close to a year ago) we knew our search was over. The store is truly amazing in every way! The facilities and store are extremely clean and organized. The staff are all knowledgeable, friendly, very welcoming and always accessible. My dog literally pulls me down the street in the morning when he knows he's going to daycare! There is an all around good feeling every time you walk in the store. My husband and I both feel very comfortable when we leave our dog knowing he is being well cared for and is safe! It's also great to have the ability to watch your dog play during the day on the webcams! My dog is always smiling when I pick him! I wouldn't even think of taking my dog anywhere else. Honestly, The Paw Stop is a dream come true!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Pros: Service, Selection, Cleanliness, Hours

Cons: None

Dan, I just wanted to send you a quick e-mail and say Thank You to you and your staff for making Louie's 1st Birthday as special as it seems to have been. I appreciate it alot, and the bag of goodies were just perfect. He loved the piece of the cake I gave him last night and the tennis ball* are exactly what I've been looking for. In fact I just bought a can of the bigger ones that squeek, but they're a little too big for him, so the little ones are just perfect. I haven't yet given him one of the rawhides or cheese treats, I'll try them tonight. Louie always comes home tired and happy from your place from running around and playing all day long. He eats his dinner and goes right to sleep till the morning. I must admit I was very dissapointed when the Doggie Day Care center right around the corner from where I work told me back in May that they require you to own a dog for 3 months before they'll let you bring it to them for daycare. But that has turned out to be a blessing is disguise, had they not said that I never would have found your place. Louie isn't the only one that looks forward to coming to your store, I do as well - your staff ALWAYS greets people with a smile and courteous attitude and all of them seem to genuinely care about the customers and the dogs. Please keep up the good job that you all do. Mike and Louie Conroy

Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff

Our newly founded non-profit organization recently held a fund raiser at The Paw Stop. We used the room that is used during the day for dog day care for this evening function. Thanks in large part to The Paw Stop, the event was a smashing success. Located in TriBeCa, it was the perfect location to attract the crowd from the financial district. When we came to set up, the space had been thoroughly cleaned and was ready. Both the set up and clean up was made much easier because the staff was friendly, helpful and extraordinarily accommodating. Their assistance was absolutely critical to the success of the fundraiser. We were ready in plenty of time. The space itself is large, roomy, bright and airy. It was amazingly quick and easy to transform it into a party space - elegant enough for a wine tasting. Just a few tables and some tablecloths, etc. did the trick. When the evening was over, and we were tired, the assistance that the staff provided in cleaning up was sorely needed and very welcomed. I would heartily recommend this space for any party or function. I applaud the owner, Dan Rubenstein for his sense of civic duty, his manager, Carolyn Keuther, and the rest of the staff of Paw stop for all their help. Our organization seeks to place dogs, rescued from shelters, in the homes of Inner City Children and their families. We then provide the support necessary to properly care for the dog. This includes food, vet bills and training to insure that the dogs are good citizens in their community. This program benefits the dogs, the children and their families and the community at large. Dan Rubenstein, who truly loves dogs, has supported us in the past and is continuing his support into the future. We applaud him for his sense of community.

Pros: Location and a wonderfully helpful staff.
