My German Shepherd (Candy) has been coming here for just as long as I have had her (she is 3.5 years old now). Even after moving from downtown Manhattan to NJ, I still bring her in twice a week on average. The care and supervision is top notch. The staff is very knowledgable on training (behavior issues) and general care. I have used their boarding services a several times without incident and the staff is quite flexible with any special requests I have made. They also have pick up and drop off service available if needed. They also have contact with many of local vets in the area to ensure all the pets keep their vaccinations up to date. They also have one of the cleanest facilities I have ever seen, complete with a redundant HVAC system that can exchange and filter the air several times over in day and a staff that diligently cleans both playrooms every day (you can catch them on the webcams around 5-6pm). Much better than the dirty mop in a bucket I have seen other daycares in the area use. Some things to keep in mind if you do bring your dog here (or any daycare/boarding facility): - Keep your dog's vaccinations up to date! This simple task will keep your dog from contracting and more importantly, infecting any other dog when they are in contact with others in and out of daycare. Just like a children's daycare or your own workplace, dogs can pass stuff back and forth. - If you board your dog, have them groomed the day you will pick them up. They are dogs after all and will tumble, roll around and slobber each other as they play. The Paw Stop's resident groomer is excellent and Candy always comes back clean and fluffy. - Your dog will be tired! It's quite normal for them to just want to sleep that night. - Daycare is a great way to keep your dog socialized. It will keep them from developing aggressive and/or destructive behavior. - Talk to the staff! It's the best way to keep a small issue from becoming a needlessly big issue.
Pros: Late hours for daycare. Walking distance to 3 dog parks. Ideal if you live/work in downtown.
