I had a lesson yesterday the instructor didn't show up. I called the office and the voicemail is full, went directly to the office and it was closed. I have prepaid for 5 lessons....i don't know what to do.

I was supposed to have my road test today. Apparently, at least 2 other people were as well. We were all there on time, but there were no instructors and no cars. Nobody answered the phone and voicemail was full. Nobody answered the door. Nobody has contacted me with any explanation. Of course, we had all paid for the road test appointment, car and instructor. A couple of tenants in the building told us that they had moved out last night. We all missed our road tests and appear to be out the money we paid in advance for the scheduling, driver and instructor. Be very careful. Perhaps there is an innocent explanation for this, but I can't imagine what it could be.

Pros: Some instructors were very good

Cons: At best, completely unreliable.

I found out two months ago that I needed to learn how to drive in order to go to medical school on Long Island. I had my learner's permit for seven years, but never got around to learning how to drive. LUKE AT PARK AVE DRIVING SCHOOL WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I don't think that I could have passed my road test without him. He was so calm, and gave great direction/advice without being too pushy. Most importantly, he made me a much more confident driver! I promise you won't regret taking lessons with Luke! Also, the guys who answer the phones and book your classes at Park Ave are super helpful and super nice. I never had a problem!

Pros: Luke! and I passed my test

Cons: absolutely none

Wow!! A++ for this school. I had a really great experience here. The class was so "bearable" lol..i could not believe it ..they have a great guy doing it. My instructor Jerry was superb. He was so patient and very professional. I was really amazed at his patience. I am the WORST DRIVER in the world and the most neurotic!! After seeing their segment on Good Morning America, I knew this was the school to try out..i could not have been more right. I would like to thank the entire staff for working so well with me , I know I was a pain! Sarah T.

Pros: great techniques, awesome istructors, prime location

Cons: none!

I searched all the schools in the area ..this by far won me over. I usually go by word of mouth for stuff but since they had so many great reviews on yahoo and of course the DMV mentioned them ..I gave them a shot. This school is unbelievably professional, courteous and so great with working around busy schedules. I passed the first time and had a super instructor! I was weary about his replacement one day due to MY scheduling conflict but it seems they all really communicate over there and continue exactly where others left off!! They do have some unique techniques .. if you follow them YOU WILL PASS!!! I felt so comfortable. I recommended them to my co-workers..hopefully they will be on the road as fast as I was!! My advice would be to take the largest package...they have some great ones...I took a smaller one at first, regretted it and ended up having to add on other lessons in the end. GOOD LUCK!!

Pros: profesional, supre flexible and awesome instructors, comfortable chairs for 5 hour class

Cons: some stairs for the one time class

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. NOT ONLY IS THE STAFF UNFRIENDLY BUT ABUSIVE TO THE PUBLIC. THEIR INSTRUCTORS ARE FILTHY AND UNPROFESSIONAL. ONE OF THEM TRIED TO TOUCH INAPPROPRIETLY AND WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE OWNER SHE SAID SHE WAS SICK AND TIRED OF THE COMPLAINS AND SHE ACTUALLY TOOK THE SIDE OF HER INSTRUCTOR INSTEAD OF TRYING TO HELP ME OUT, HER CUSTOMER. I ASKED FOR A REFUND AND SHE CURSED AT ME. THIS SCHOOL SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN. TAKE THIS AS A WARNING. I FILED A REPORT AGAINST THESE CRAZY PEOPLE. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY THERE. THERE ARE MUCH BETTER SCHOOLS OUT THERE.

Pros: NONE

Cons: TOO MANY TO DESCRIBE.

Ive been renewing my permit for more than 30 years, anxiety and fear is my culprit. For years Ive been getting a lesson here and there with family and friends; I even had a lesson with Prosfessional Driving School the instructor was nice but gave no instruction. None of them made me feel as at ease behind the wheel as Lucas, my now Instructor at Park Ave. he is great! His sense of humor, courteous manner, wealth of instruction and driving tips are to be applauded! His colleague Mona - is terrific as well! They really engage themselves with your temperment & driving ability or should I say inability. Both were always prompt . For me the only negative about this school is climbing 4 flights of steps for the 5hr class. I truly believe my permit packing days are almost behind me. thx Lucas & Mona my license is now in sight.

Pros: Professional Instructors

Cons: Office staff needs to step up-

Rude, unreliable, uncooperative. The equipment is aweful - for two out of the four classes I had, the turn signals in the car were not working so I had to navigate Manhattan in the dark and with no signals!!! I would make arrangements with the instructor and he would never return my calls. Several classes were cancelled and had to be rescheduled (which is very difficult as it is)! oh, and my instructor didn't realize that i was driving with two feet until our 3rd class! Two days before the test I called the school to confirm that someone is taking me to take the test, it turned out that my instructor had double-booked! Worst of all, the staff is not being very helpful, still waiting to hear back...

Pros: NONE

Cons: Unreliable, Rude, Uncooperative

This is not the first school I went to, and, I have to say that it is good and for sure it is not worse than others. You should realize that the rating always depends on whether people pass the road test or not, and people who pass the test usually do not write reviews for some reason. So, customer service here is fine, prices are like everywhere in Manhattan, and instructors teach you everything you need to know. I liked it.

Pros: instructors, 5-hour class

Cons: cars not very clean

Park Ave was recommended to by a friend and said that all her friends were thrilled with the school. I myself checked on this page (just in case) ..my heart sunk...I could not believe the reviews..anyway. I called my friend and she said it could possibly be 1 disgruntled customer or so(guess we all know them) Anyway I called the school and they said that they have NEVER had complaints about ANY TEENAGER THAT WAS DISMISSED not knowing how to turn ,if they did such things they would be out of business, they were quite appalled. They said they have plenty of excellent references and real clients that stand behind them. They said they even sometimes ask people to leave a review for them on yahoo local. So I checked yahoo local and sure enough...great reviews. I had an excellent experience with them. They are all over the place, my niece says that they have even gone to school and taught there! My gosh, after I met the people there and had all my lessons..I really felt like I had to write this. What a shame those other folks felt they needed to make that stuff up or not call the school to discuss the issue. My instructor said they stand behind everything they do and has never heard of something so irresponsible like not teaching how to turn properly?? Oh ..and someone wrote that they are cheaper than other schools?? I thought they were about the same if not a bit higher...but as I mentioned in my yahoo post ..I would pay ANYTHING for good, safe and professional lessons! Best, Casey

Pros: pick up at work..drop off at train..prof instructors,he was so patient with all of my questions!! I had MANY!!

Cons: chairs in the class are too comfy...you'll want to nap!!!
