I booked the 25th St. / 10th Ave. apartment for four nights. We stayed one, and getting through that was quite an ordeal. The apartment was advertised as "in the back," presumably to imply that it was quiet. Because I was traveling with an infant, I confirmed over the phone that it was indeed quiet. Antique failed to mention the apartment is in the back, *ABOVE A BAR*. We might has well slept in that bar. The bedroom window is so close to it, we could identify particular people at the bar by their laughter. In addition, the apartment is heated by radiator, which cannot be controlled. Under any normal circumstances, we would have just opened the windows and dealt with it, but opening the window just made things all the louder, of course. To get to sleep, we eventually found a radio, tuned it between stations for white noise, and cranked the volume to its maximum. Antique did refund our unused three nights, but I'm still sore about having to pay for even one night, esp. since I had to rebook at a hotel at the last minute and paid through the nose. The short of it: I wouldn't trust them to rent me bowling shoes, let alone an apartment. (I also second the complaints about having trouble reaching Marcial, the fellow who manages these apartments. He was certainly snippy when asked for our money back. Again, though, if not for the unbearable noise, we probably would have just chalked that up to what you have to deal with to save $$ in NYC.)
