UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
by manboo
We ordered an expensive BBQ set along with rice for several people.
They decided to serve us COLD rice, which we requested to be changed.
Out came lukewarm rice, obviously reheated in some microwave....out came their manager and assured us that they are making a new pan to be served fresh & hot...
so we stacked the bowls and they took them away.
To our surprise, they did the same thing by reheating them LONGER in the microwave....
WHAT A JOKE.
Obviously we didn't pay any tip what so ever and left the restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: FOOD SERVICE TERRIBLE!!
Would not recommend

If you're looking for anything close to real Korean food, don't go here. The food tastes ok, but it's definitely not the same taste profile as the food you might find in the other restaurant on 32nd st.
We went for dinner and the service was super slow, again. This is the second time we had significant delays in getting our food. The waiter was nice, but they really don't understand that dinner customers can't lounge around for 2 hours when we have other things to do.
- Pros: none?
- Cons: bad service - dirty -
Too crowded
by mStyle
The place is crowded and loud. We had to scream to one another just to be heard. During our dinner, we were constantly disturbed by all the commotion that was going on. The food was good but, nothing spectacular.
- Pros: Food
great bbq in koreatown

Have dined here twice in the past few weeks and both times I had outstanding food and service. I went to this place based on a recommendation from a friend and it was certainly a good find. Friendly staff, speedy service, a nice crowd, and located in a cool neighborhood for sightseeing.
- Pros: great food and service in a cool neighborhood
- Cons: gets very crowded at times
stomach churning customer service
by foodpeepnyc3
we left a 15% tip which was $6 dollars. i wrote my tip ($3) on my receipt for the use of my credit card and my friend left her portion of the tip ($3) in cash. as we were leaving my friend ( i was already outside) was stoppped and harrased initially by the angry waitress and then the manager as to why we only left $3 dollars as tip on the credit card receipt. they accused her/us of only leaving $3. we were not sure who took the bill, but we left our 15% tip ($6). my friend was made to feel like a criminal for the tip we left. first off, no customer should ever be scolded by the staff for the tip they choose to leave and secondly we did leave a 15% tip and it is not our fault other members of the waitstaff who collected our tip of $6 perhaps pocketed the remaining $3 dollars. this incident of being scolded by a waitress and a manager ruined our entire afternoon and made the food that we ate stomach churning.
- Cons: service
Never Again
by verdancia
The service here was horrible. We were rushed to place our orders while standing at the door, still in our coats, and then made to wait for a long time. At last it seemed like we had a table so we were ushered to the back of the restaurant. No. There was no open table. We were just asked to stand near the bathroom and wait there for no reason whatsoever. Finally, since there was room at the front of the restaurant, I asked if we could stand there again. The food was not worth the price and the man clearing our plates spilled water and food back on the table; I feared it was going to end up on us. My friend assures me that she's had much better Korean food down the street.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Service and food
Best restaurant in K-Town
by ktownlver
The food is really good. Always fresh and sizzling hot when it comes out. The place is a bit small and crowded. So if you come at the wrong time of the day, there will be a wait (try to arrive before 5:45pm for dinner). I was new to korean food but now after having a great dining experience (really felt like i was in korea bc they are very attentive and quick) and delicious dishes and i a huge fan! Come here for some good food! I might see you bc i have been coming at least twice a week!
This bustling Korean restaurant is not for the faint of heart.

In Short
The frantic energy is apparent as soon as you step in off the street. A perpetual line stretches to the front door as frantic hosts seat diners with alarming efficiency. Why the all the hullabaloo? That would be the food: The spicy seafood casserole is very popular, and items like the Bo Ssam (a plate of broiled pork) go beyond the usual Koreatown offerings. Don't worry though, the classics like bi bim bob and noodles are still available.
Best Korean Food in KTown
by tdv
Not sure how much I like their seating process, but the stews and BBQ are great. It's one of the only restaurants that always has a large line in KTown. I found out why a few months ago and have been there several times since. The food is consistently good. I must admit that I've only tried a few stews and meats, but they've all been great.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Seating was terrible
Best korean food in Ktown, Ok service
by anonymous1112
You know the food is good if there's a line out the door, which Kunjip usually has, whether it be the dinner or after-party crowd. They have a good variety of korean small dishes, including my favorite, egg in a hot stone bowl (although they don't always offer it, even when you ask). The food always has a good flavor and they have a few dishes that other restaurants in the area either don't have or don't make as well. The service is ok, definitely not the best, but they are fast in order to get people in and out (though you never feel overly rushed).
- Pros: Good food and small dishes
- Cons: Ok service, usually a wait
