A Fantastic Time!
by Mikelllita
Went to Comix with a few friends to see Jenaeane Garofalo and we had a blast. The three openers were absolutely hilarious, which you normally don't find at comedy clubs and Jeneane is always great. Fun atmosphere and tasty menu. This is a great way to spend an evening. Highly recommend.
- Pros: Great Openers, Headliners, Food
Not the best comedy club
by mish123
I went to this place b/c i got free admission for being a student... well that excluded the 2 item minimum which were ranged from 8-20 bucks! (no wonder its free admission) ... it wasnt even comedians, it was just a bunch of videos that i could have you tubed myself - i laughed maybe 2x in the whole 2 hrs i was there.. not funny... i would not recommend this place to go for a laugh.
- Pros: unnecessarily expensive food
- Cons: not funny at all, expensive
GREAT Night Out!
by Sallyyy5
I went on a first date here and it was a great choice. We saw some really funny comedians and enjoyed some good food. My date had a great time and I'd have to say it was one of the best first dates I've ever had. Yes, we went out again(but had more fun at Comix).
- Pros: Comedy, Food, Service
Great Time! Got a FREE ticket during the week when I bought another!

I live in NYC but have never been to a comedy club. A friend of mine was in town so we decided to go to Comix after spotting it on Citysearch. Also spotted the buy one get one offer on these pages which was goood for weekday shows. I don't remember the comedian names that night but they looked familiar. The routines were very funny and I liked the atmosphere. Also, great Village location in the Meatpacking District so we could wander abut after the show.
- Pros: Comics, Location, Citysearch Offer
i feel cheated

I got tickets to see Arj Barker last Saturday night. They were like $25 plus a 2 drink minimum. On the website, I was told in bold letters to show up an hour in advance. That's crazy I thought but I did. Don't because there was no reason to as it didn't affect seating or anything else except that it stuck me at their very lame bar drinking $12 cocktails. I had a couple and my wife had one.
Then we were seated and the waitress came by to take our drink order. I told her we'd already bought three and she said (of course i knew this would happen), "sorry, those don't count." The way she said it with terror in her eyes told me this was a regular occurrence. Confusing then that the bartender didn't share. That's when I first started feeling crummy - not a great way to start a comedy show. Anyway, I ordered two waters ($5 a piece).
The show started and the lineup was fine but they were totally having to fight through this black cloud of bad moods that filled the room. The table in front of us, tourists from Ireland, ordered a bottle of Veuve Clicquot (I don't want to know how much that cost) and even after that the waitress insisted they order another round! She came with 6 Bud Lights (nice after champagne I guess) but one of the party wouldn't stand for this and sent them back. All of this uplifting scene occurred _during_ the headliner's act which did not make him any funnier, that's for sure.
Next came the checks. There was mine with the 2 waters, another $10 to complete the 2-drink minimum and an automatic 18% tip. Oh and there are two green tickets. They won't let you out of the room unless you give them these green tickets proving you had the 2-drink minimum!!! Great, you cheat me and you make _me_ feel like a criminal.
So, a decent group of comedians brought down by a miserable venue. We were out $120 or so and left feeling used and abused. If you go, be aware that having a good time is your burden as Comix isn't going to help you out on that front.
- Pros: decent lineup
- Cons: rip off

Very Good Comedy Club

Top notch comedians, great location, good food and drinks and the service we had was very attentive. I've also been once for happy hour and they had some good drink specials. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Comedians, Service, Food & Drinks
Horrible
by Sallibueg
Overpriced, tasteless food. It took too long to get our food. Then we were automatically charged 18 percent gratuity. The worst part is that the management was rude. I wouldn't go back there if my favorite comedian was performing.
- Pros: ?
- Cons: bad expensive food, bad management
Classy Comedy Club
by nicros71
I haven't been down on 14th Street in a long time but when I saw Craig Ferguson at Comix. I couldn't believe that the health food store was converted into this amazing comedy club. Tickets were expensive but the warm up routine and show was great. They will try to get you to buy drinks at the bar prior to seating but once inside the seating and service was terrrific. Plus its nice to see that area finally get a nightlife! Does anyone remember 'The Village Idiot' bar next door well now its a lounge.
- Pros: Cool Comedy Club
- Cons: Pricey drinks - waiting to be seated at bar
