The Best Frozen Yougurt, EVER!

by Louboutin27 at Citysearch

Pinkberry is the best! The have so many fun and interesting topping choices. The prices do tend to be a little pricer than others but their yougurt is well worth it. Every time I leave Pinkberry, I am always stopped by tourists asking for directions so be ready. All in all, this is a must stop for anyone looking for a quick and healthy snack.

  • Pros: your choice of almost anything on a yougrt
  • Cons: prices

frozen yogurt !

by marinasoho at Citysearch

As I walked away from pinkberry, I had about 2-3 groups of tourists notice my cup and ask me for directions to pinkberry. I personally love the yogurt but it's not for everyone - had a few friends tell me they just don't get it. Try it for yourself - if you don't love it, try a few other options like Red Mango. There are so many of these places popping up everywhere. In brooklyn there is Blue Mango, Yogo Monster, and Oki just to a name a few.

Love it or hate it

by Rina072 at Citysearch

Pinkberry seems to be one of those things everyone either LOVES or HATES. I personally love it, but you have to be prepared for YOGURT, not an ice cream imitation, a la Tasti D Lite or your typical "frozen yogurt" from the grocery store. Pinkberry IS, and appropriately, tastes like a creamy, cold, delicious yogurt. I usually get it with lots of fruit toppings as a sort of meal replacement, and it's awesome. It's not super-sweet and I don't treat it as a dessert (I find it too filling for an after-meal thing anyway), but it's great for a pre-workout snack, a light breakfast, and is much healthier than a frappuccino for a little cold treat on a warm day. Also, the staff at every pinkberry I've been to - especially the 59th street and 14h street locations - have been really upbeat and friendly. It's a whole enjoyable package, and Red Mango just doesn't compare.

  • Pros: Yummy! Friendly staff.
  • Cons: Soo expensive!

Worth the buzz

The yogurt is REALLY good and I'm all about the fresh fruit. Don't recommend the shaved ice though...

Crapberry

by nicoleec at Citysearch

If the cup came filled with mainly fruit or toppings and just a little bit of yogurt, it MIGHT be okay. Seriously, I don't understand the obsession with this place. I'm a 23-year old who moved from sunny California to the Upper East Side. I love trying new restaurants and I saw Pinkberry on the American Express Plum card commercial and figured it must be good. Boy oh boy was I WRONG!! It tastes like it's yogurt that sat in the gutter for two weeks (well, at least what I imagine something would taste like after sitting in the gutter for that long). My friend actually said it best: "It tastes like the frozen yogurt that came out when they first tried to make it." Yuck, yuck, yuck. I really don't understand HOW someone could actually like this. ick!

  • Pros: the cashiers are very nice
  • Cons: the most HORRIBLE frozen yogurt EVER

Pinkberry versus Fruplosion

by ajard at Citysearch

I used to like Pinkberry until I discovered Fruplosion cafe inside the Fresh Fruit Bouquet company on 45th and Madison. They have a better tasting plain frozen yogurt ( Frogurt Brand that Bloomingdales and Saks has) and make parfaits with it, it is amazing! Some combos are the plain frozen yogurt with honey, walnuts and bananas. The do caramel , granola and apples to make like an apple pie parfait. If you like Pinkberry you will LOVE Fruplosion. I am hooked and I went on their website they have locations opening all over the country. One justopened in Flushing too. I had Pinkberry today since I was walking by and it truly is lemony and the Frogurt at Fruplosion has a more yogurt flavor with the tang that plain should have.

  • Pros: Refreshing
  • Cons: Too lemony, doesnt compare to Fruplosion

yummy frozen yogurt!

by nyustudent11 at Citysearch

I thought Pinkberry's concept was rather stupid- only 2 flavors and some toppings- how do you make a hugely successful business out of that?? However, after trying some this past week I can attest that pinkberry really does taste GREAT and was totally worth the wait. I got some of the regular yogurt with strawberries, raspberries and bananas and the fruit tasted fresh and sweet and overall the experience was really wonderful. My younger brother and baby cousin loved it as well. Great atmosphere and frozen yogurt!

  • Pros: good frozen yogurt
  • Cons: long waits

Don't Believe the Hype

by swan04 at Citysearch

Having heard all the buzz, I was happy to see a Pinkberry pop up in my neighborhood and was excited to try it. I didn't want to wait in the long line, so I held back until a random late evening last week when the line was not down the block. The man in line behind me seemed to be restraining himself from cutting in front of the line to get his "fix". He was recognized by the cashier (whom he refered to as "my savior!") when he ordered his "usual". I was excited to try this wonderfully addictive frozen treat, happy to pay too much for something that I might end up craving, and...yuck! It tastes just like frozen yogurt did when it was brand new in the very early 80s: sour and flavorless. They only have two kinds: plain and green tea flavor. Whoopee. The toppings are the same standards you see anywhere else. I tried to like it, thought maybe it was an acquired taste, but couldn't even finish my serving. Sorry, addicted guy...I threw mine away.

  • Pros: anything cold on a hot day is a pro
  • Cons: sour, flavorless, overpriced, long lines

Don't Believe the Hype

by rmrmets at Citysearch

The frozen yogurt reminded me of the taste that frozen yogurt had in the 1970's - sour and an icy texture. This place is quite frankly for the 20 something Paris Hilton lookalike crowd who don't care about the quality of the product but only so they can IM their friends to say that they went to Pinkberry. Save your $$, these shops will be closing once the hype wears off.

  • Pros: Clean
  • Cons: Poor service, awful taste

Loved it!!

by souladyl at Citysearch

My first time visit this week was to humor my cousin who's visiting from out of town and wanted to see what the celeb hype was about. I was super skeptical and am now completely hooked- both flavors were great and fruit and cereal toppings were very fresh. Neither of us knew the concept going in, and apparently the staff was less than thrilled explaining to her how everything worked, but they willingly gave us samples of both flavors and the light, refreshing taste spoke for itself! Don't go for the A/C or plentiful seating as neither exist- we parked it on benches down the block.

  • Pros: fresh, refreshing
  • Cons: no A/C
