Fixed my laptop on the spot!

I'm a student and I needed my laptop fixed asap for an urgent paper. My HP wasn't turning on at all. The tech guy saw I was in a panic and got my laptop fixed in about 5 minutes flat! He did something with the power button and the battery. He prorated the cost since it was so fast. Very fast, and very reasonable. And did I mention I was able to turn in my paper ahead of time. :)

• Pros: Rapid fast, very friendly
• Cons: Tough to find

Quick macbook repair

I've been used to going to the Apple store and getting 2-3 week turn-arounds for every macbook fix I needed. I'm so happy to find the New York Computer Help shop on 57th street. They replaced my macbook screen in a 3-day turn-around time. This included buying the LCD replacement screen and installing it. Very professional, good bedside manner, and decent pricing.

• Pros: quick, professional, didn't take as long as Apple store
• Cons: not easy to find their office

Joe and J.J. were phenomenal- tremendous help, great service, and most importantly, succeeded in fixing my computer. Unparalleled customer service- which is the hardest thing to find in NYC. highly recommended!

Cheap and quick - the way I like it :)

My girlfriend dropped off my dead laptop since I was busy taking classes at Columbia U. I desperately needed to recover some assignments and thesis for the end of the semester. I told the NYCH techs i needed it recovered the same day. The did better than that. They recovered all of my files in 1 hour! And only for $85! I'm able to graduate on time with no problems. A gracious thank you for truly being my life saver!

Hidden gem on 57th Street

It was a little difficult finding this 57th Street computer shop - no signs and it is on the 6th floor. But, once I found it, I was very pleased. I got quick help and was able to get a diagnostic on the spot. The problem with my laptop was that it would turn on. The technician took out the battery and put it back in and voila! My computer was on! They didn't even charge me for their time because it was such an easy fix. Definitely a hidden gem!

I was used to going to the Best Buy or Circuit City store for tech support. And waited 2 weeks for my computer to be fixed. Yesterday, I went the New York Computer Help shop - the west side one on 57th - and was really happy. I'm really not one to review a company, but really want to share my experience. I was greeted nicely and the gentleman waited patiently for me to finish my sob story about how my computer has a slow startup and sometimes get a blue screen. I dropped my computer off, got a call with the diagnostic 2 hours later. I approved for $125 and was able to pick up my laptop the same day. They even explained how to prevent this issue from happening again. Definitely top-notch service.

Truly a warm experience...and got my laptop started again too

I was frantic - my Sony vaio decided to drink some red wine...Well, OK, I smartly dumped a carafe of Merlot on my keyboard. I didn't turn it on and called New York Help. A nice fellow told to leave it off for a couple of days to dry and turn my laptop sideways. I did as directed and then turned it on. It worked by was a tad sluggish. So, I brought it into their West Side shop to return the favor for the nice advice. They wiped the inside clean and voila...I was computing fast in no time. And from now on, I'll keep my wine in a squeeze bottle!

Honest company - wouldn't go anywhere else

This is the 4th different laptop I've brought in..and I keep going back to these guys because they are absolutely without a doubt the most honest service company folks I've ever met. On 2 computers, they recommended not performing a couple of services since the laptops were too old or they recommended another fix. They truely care and take pride in their work and that's why I'm writing this review to share and recommend!

Free diagnostics!!

I wasn't sure if I should fix my 4 year old laptop or move onto a new one. So, I had these guys check it out and I was really expecting to hear "We can fix this computer for only $500." Instead, they said get a new computer - there's no sense investing in something that will not last long. I really was shocked to hear such honesty. I am about to buy a new mac and have them transfer the files from my old computer over.
