I checked out several Pilates studios before joining Joschi Body Bodega. It is very convenient and classes are scheduled often enough I can make several during the week. The studio is lovely, well maintained and managed. The teachers are wonderful, especially the gifted Joschi. He’s classes are thorough and demanding but never intimidating. I can even say the classes are fun. Fellow students are friendly and very loyal to this studio. You’ll see. I began Pilates in hope of relieving back pain. It did that inside of three months and every month thereafter my strength and wellbeing has improved. I even sleep better. Thank you Joschi and Monika.
Pros: Great teachers, great classes.
Cons: None

I used to be the person who didn't like sports much (I have tried several sports, including Yoga), and I had pretty much decided that walking around the city and partying on weekends would be enough sports for me. Then came the day when I was dragged to Joschi by my mom. It was love at first sight. The studio is super clean and perfectly organized, Joschi's classes (Yoga and Pilates) are outstanding, and Monika is always very helpful. I am a regular now (2 -6 times a week) and I feel great. It is also the first time I have started classes and didn't feel like I was born with two left feet and zero coordination. I always leave the Body Bodega feeling very calm, relaxed, and happy. Joschi's Body Bodega is probably the best thing that has happened to me here in NYC. Special thanks go out to my mom :D, Joschi, and Monika.
Pros: very clean, leave your mat, great teacher, geat vibe

Instructors are spot on in how they guide students-gentle but firm encouragement for all. Sequencing in the classes, yoga or Pilates, are creative and challenging for all students increasing mental and physical flexibility and strength. All students are treated the same-with respect, encouragement and honesty. Questions are encouraged and answered. What more could you ask for?
Pros: Zen ambiance, wide variety of background music
Cons: the annoying bldg buzzer that can't be avoided

I'll never stop going to pilates at Joschi's. The results I've gotten by taking 2-3 classes per week are amazing! Simply by adding pilates - with Joschi and his staff - to my workout schedule, I've dropped 3 sizes and 20 lbs. I'm never bored - every class is different and varied. All props are included - you don't have to drag your equipment around the city - it's all there! Monika greets us by name and with a smile. Joschi is a breath of fresh air as an instructor - he's smart, funny and congenial. During each class, it's obvious that he really cares about his students. No matter what your fitness level, you will see results!
Pros: Wonderful atmosphere, very reasonably priced, everything is included.

I absolutely love Joschi Body Bodega, by far the best studio I've been to in the city. The teachers are wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. They bring their positive energy into each class and are very supportive. It's so great that every class I go to is different and has that special something that always makes me excited to find out what's going to happen next. But what's so great about this studio is that they actually know who you are and remember everybody's name and so they really created a nice sense of community right from the first time you step into the studio.
Pros: great teachers, friendly atmosphere, always clean
Cons: I wish I could come every day

Two weeks ago I took Joschi's class in Times Square and loved the energy so much that I went to Joschi Body Bodega the next day to sign up. I just love the classes, the vibe is super friendly and the teachers are amazing. It's great to have found my new yoga home and be part of a real community. Thank you!
Pros: love the energy of Joschi Body Bodega

I wanted to like this studio but I don't at all. There is something strangely pretentious about Joschi. He is an obvious perfomer rather than a yoga teacher. I find his manner a trifle phoney for my taste. That said, I took a class with another instructor who really did not know her left from her right. Lots of jump switches. Then in one class she was like, "Yoga teachers hate when students thwack (i think that was it) their mats down." Seriously, who cares. She turned me off. Then there is the red head (red i think) behind the desk who just eyes everyone up and down as if wondering if they should be there. NOT very yogi. Dissapointed. and befuddled as to how they can set up shop as a yoga studio. Anything goes I suppose in this city. Will search for something real and not phoney. OH and there is limited space to change and the rooms are lit like a club bathroom. You can barely see anything so make sure your pants aren't on backwards when you walk out.
Pros: clean studio
Cons: phoney, attitude, only three or four classes a day

I was a bit nervous going into my first yoga class ever but Joschi made me feel like I've been going there for years. Joschi isn't like a regular studio owner because he actually pays attention to his students and not the profit. He is a wonderful person who takes the time to learn your name, ask your opinions and help you get the most out of your class. If you are going to pay to learn something then get your money's worth and go to Joschi who is absolutely priceless!
Pros: Ambience and attention
Cons: That its not closer to me

Hello! I have been practicing yoga for 5 years, at home and in numerous studios in my travels. I wanted to find a place that gave me a sense of comfortableness, similar to what I get from my home. When I came across Joschi's Body Bodega, the studio immediately became my home practice away from home. I love Joschi himself, Monika, and all the teachers that have been carefully placed by the studio. Their knowledge of teaching on all levels that each of them possess is amazing. I love the studio so much that I decided to attend the Yoga Teacher Training program this winter. Even if you do not want to become certified to teach, I recommend this training just to deepen your practice. I am amazed how much knowledge I have consumed by all the wonderful people who work for the studio, and how it has helped me with my asana's and mental well-being. To say the very least, you must check out Joschi's Body Bodega. Come see for yourself how you will benefit, especially as a beginner, by experiencing a class with Joschi or one of the amazing teachers. If anyone knows how to make to you feel what yoga is...to unite the split between the mind and the body…they do…and you will definitely get to know and feel it here.
Pros: Changing rooms, clean facility, ample room for personal belongings and safe environment.

It gives me great joy to write a fabulous review about an amazing place, Joschi Body Bodega. Thanks to all those special folks working there that have helped me and continue to help me forget my personal selfishness, deepen my yoga knowledge and broaden my practice & mind more and more. Practice is the most important part and being able to do it with such a wonderful group of people and in such an amazing space is truly a gift. Joschi, Monika, Amy and Michael have inspired me in so many ways... to find peace and joy within myself and to share that enlightenment with all humanity. Thank you for being you and for sharing it with the world. Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthi
Pros: Great environment that leaves you with a floating feeling
Cons: A buzzer that makes me aware that my peaceful practice is coming to a close :(
