It's not only a good place to eat, but everyone is finished eating, you can drink and dance with your buds. Wonderful. I went here last night and had a great time (high-end clientele, Excellent Music). The food was lovely and the drinks wonderful. Beautiful people in a very well designed place with a stunning interior makes the whole experience memorable. I enjoyed it and will definitely go back soon.

Met 2 girlfriends for dinner here on Monday night. I walked inside the bar entrance, obviously looking around for someone. Bartender couldnt be bothered. Went over to reservations table where I waited another 5-7 minutes until they seated me. It was about 10 minutes before the waiter took our drink order and another 10 until they were served. The restaurant was not full, nor was the bar. Crostini were painfully tiny and unordinary. Appetizers were okay, though the yellowtail carpaccio was completely overpowered by sesame - not olive - oil. After another long interval (20-30 mins maybe?) entrees arrived. One friend had the linguini with scallops that was a) overcooked and b) tasted of absolutely nothing, except maybe something one would cook up in a college dorm room. The olive tapenade seemed to be missing. The bronzino was fishy and the polenta gummy. Not sure what part the special olive oils played in any of these dishes. We had to ask a manager for our desserts when the waiter went missing, though our check arrived minutes after requesting it. For bridge and tunnelers or meat packing tourists who are looking for a vegas vibe, this place might be fine. For anyone wanting a good meal and positive dining experience, go elsewhere.

Pros: 3 olive oils for bread dipping; good cocktails

Cons: mediocre food and terrible service

I went here the other night with a co-worker and loved all the food! We shared a variety of appetizers, all which were great!! Our waiter, on the other hand, was very nice but a complete idiot. First, he tried to pour our wine without taking the CORK out.. yeah no joke.. he seemed really scatter brained and rushed and like he just had no idea what was happening. My friend ordered the mediterranian sampler, which actually was good, but very small. I did order the lamb chops, but the waiter ordered the wrong dish and I ended up with the lamb shish kebab skewers. Now, the skewers were good, but the fact that he got my order wrong was really annoying. When I told him it was wrong he said "well, they're $10 cheaper and actually better so you lucked out!" he did offer to change it, but informed me that it would take a long time to get the right dish because he had "never seen a slower kitchen in his life". so overall great food, great drinks, not so great service!

Pros: Great food!

Cons: Service- not so good

Attended a birthday dinner with 6 others last Saturday night. Food was decent, & thought the waitress was very attentive and helpful, especially when their smoke alarm kept going off throughout dinner. Unfortunately, they charged my debit card twice - once for my portion of the bill, once for the remainder of the entire group bill! I had to call 6 times to get this mistake corrected. The first manager I spoke with, Olivia, tried to tell me that ALL banks in Manhattan hold the full bill amount on each card when they split the check. The second manager I spoke with, a Ms. Hanson, tried to say that only MY bank (Wachovia) does this, but promised she would call Wachovia to correct the mistake, thus releasing the funds being held. Not only did she call me back and LIE, saying she had corrected the problem with Wachovia (after first complaining to me that Wachovia had the audacity to place her on hold) when in fact she had not called them, but she also said that I should be content to wait 4-5 days for the check hold to drop off my acct, saying that "MOST of our customers are fine with that." So basically she implied that I must be poor because I didn't want hundreds of dollars being held for 4-5 days because of THEIR mistake!!!! For being in the hospitality industry, her customer service skills could certainly use some improvement. Good luck splitting a check here! I won't be taking my business or my debit card back to Fig & Olive.

I like this place: the location, decor and food. Service was a bit on the slow side but, more than anything, this place is LOUD. Be prepared to shout all evening at your tablemates and if you're in a large group, don't count on being in on any conversation more than one person away from you. We were a group of six women and would have had a MUCH better time if the music were turned down a lot, especially since at least one of us had a cold. On the other hand, if you're dining with someone who's a poor conversationalist but looks great, this place is perfect! You can look at them amidst nice ambience over a good meal and check out everyone else as it's semi-interesting people watching.

Pros: Location, Ambience, Food

Cons: Slow Service, Too Loud

Not great, not terrible. Coat check didn't lose my umbrella, which is nice. Not in love with olive oil iced cream for dessert though.

Cons: Coat check diligence

You all know that it is hard to book a dinner for a large group in the trendy venues of the Meatpacking District. Well, Fig and Olive is definitely an exception! They have a very efficient reservation service and they made my life so simple when I tried to book a dinner for my party of 18! I simply had to give them my menu selection and everything was ready when my friends and I got there. We had a personalized menu printed out on our table and the service was excellent. The waiters were very knowledgeable and took very good care of us. I personally had the pollo profumo and it was simply delicious! Every single one of my friends enjoyed the food and the venue. We will surely go back there soon! If you have a large group of friends and desperately look for a venue that can accommodate you then be sure to check out Fig & Olive!

I went to Fig & Olive in the Meatpacking for my birthday, I had about 15 of friends with me and we worked with the restaurant's special events coordinator. She helped me planned everything details from the cocktails we had to the menu selections. I work all day and it was great that everything was done via e-mail and my party turned out exactly the way I wanted. My friends and I were impressed and the impeccable service continued at the restaurant as well. The servers were excellent. The food was great as well. We had the Crostinis which is great fun for parties. My most favorite dish for that evening was the Fig & Olive Salad. My friends and I are defenitely going back!

Pros: Service and Food

Last weekend I was at the downtown location of this Mediterranean restaurant called Fig & Olive for my engagement party. I was nervous as the Meatpacking location is usually super crowded on a Saturday evening and I had a mix of guests, including my parents, relatives, older family friends and the younger crowd of friends my age, so I wanted everything to go perfectly. As it turns out I was overjoyed! Everything turned out beautifully and it was a perfect night that I will always remember. We rented out the area called "the platform" which I was informed about when I called the event reservation number, for parties of 8 or more...we were 52! It was perfect as it was semi-secluded but you could still feel the ambience of the entire room. We had a champagne toast when everyone arrived and delicious passed hors d'oeuvres including many different crostinis. Then there were light stations set up with food and cheese and charcuterie trays, just like being in France, delicious! I was thrilled and the staff was so accommodating and wonderful. My guests, of all ages, had a great time and my fiance and I will never forget this night. The events team was so helpful in helping us choose the passed hors d'oeuvres and stationery items as well as a signature cocktail which we had named after us...I will be back soon for sure.

Pros: Great for private event! great service!

Cons: Meatpacking District can be hard to park

I went to Fig & Olive last weekend for a girls night out in honor to celebrate my best friend's engagement and I had a wonderful experience..The food was stunning- I really recommend the Penne Mediterraneo, a true jewel from the Mediterranean..The service was really professional, we had an amazing waiter- he was a great teacher on olive oil and was great to recommend the wine- we ended up with a great bottle of red wine from the Cote Du Rhone! I will definitely go back- probably for Valentine's Day- their menu looks great after looking up where to go on Citysearch..

Pros: Food, waiters, atmosphere

Cons: None
