I had a great experience at the Park Avenue Hair Salon. I originally chose the place because it was close to my work. I hadn't gotten my hair cut in awhile and wanted to try something new. I remember walking in with some trepidation, but it was gone after I was greeted with such enthusiasm and warmth. I immediately felt comfortable. After all, this was not destined to be a very comfortable experience--my hair had been long for years and I was about to say goodbye to it! Who can say that they don't experience some anxiety in a situation like that?! When I saw Slava for the first time I knew she would be amazing. She had a cutting-edge hair style herself--short, somewhat spunky red hair and the friendliest smile. In fact, I felt like I already knew her. After a therapeutic shampooing, I got the best hair cut I've ever gotten in my life. Slava will have a vision of your hair, like she did with mine--and you'll trust it--and you might not know why at the time, but you just do. I may have never chosen the hair cut I got, but it seemed the hair cut chose me. I received so many compliments on my hair the next day that I decided then and there I would go to no one else but my main chica, Slava! I suggest you give her a try--you and your hair will thank her--and your new dates will probably do the same ; ) .

I have been a customer here for over 2 years. I walked in one night after work just because it was convenient and I wanted to a different look. My hair was really long and I wanted it short. Raphael was a bit apprehensive and wanted to make sure that I knew what I wanted and he did a great job...I was a loyal fan ever since and the prices a surprisingly normal. I made the mistake today of going around the corner to get it trimmed because I won't have time to make it to that murray hill anytime soon because my office has been relocated, and am disappointed beyond words. Now I'm taking a day off of work to go see who I should've seen in the first place!

Was here last night to get a highlight and cut, the prices of the place is the reason I took a chance. The receptionist introduced me to Raphael, I sat in his chair and he gave me his opinion. We went through some clippings I brought and I had a feeling he knew color. He did a highlight and cut and it was under $200, which is almost impossible to find these days in the city. Love the color love the cut and love Raphael!
Pros: Highlight Masters!
Cons: Dont offer many services

I am in absolute love with my new hair cut. I randomly just stopped in because they carry Bumble and bumble and wanted to pick up some surf spray. The front desk offered for me to get a cut and I took the chance because the prices are normal. The stylist really was careful about what I wanted and I was happy that he took his time and gave me several options. It took a little longer than my usual guy but the results were worth the time. Had several times been a victim of the cut looking great when it is blowdryed and filled with products, but its been several days and it looks great.
Pros: Good haircutting
Cons: Small space, limited services

This place is located in the same building as my office and they have the absolute best hair care product selection. They carry all the best brands even Bumble and Bumble which has the best hair spray. A lady named Zuma at the front always advises really good products, definitely talk to her. I never got my hair done there, but for products its a great place, better than Ricky's where no one knows anything about what they carry.
Pros: Great Hair Products, give great advice on products

I found out about this place through my coworker. To make a long story short, the prices are normal, the blowdry lasts several days, as oppposed to other places I have been to where the next day it looks like you never got one. Place is small but cozy and has a nice staff. Bottom line... Place knows how to style and blowdry hair.
Pros: Price, Service, Staff
Cons: Far from my house

Came here because it is right near my office and I didnt really have anything to go on. Place looks nice and it was a good sign that they carry Bumble and Bumble products. Sat down with a stylist and we went through the consultatoin which made me feel confident that they guy knew what he was doing. To make things quick, the highlights came out exactly as i wanted them. I have been to other salons where they stylist is off and tries to convince you that this "looks better." Definitely would recommend this place!
Pros: Good Coloring

Stopped in this place after work cause a friend recommended it. There was a slight wait, but they took me in (front desk lady was really nice). Sat down, consulted with the stylist who was nice and I could tell he knew hair. Got an amazing cut for a really reasonable price, some salons in the area have insanely expensive prices. This place is one of the few salons that offers good service without charging an arm and a leg. Thanks Park Ave!
Pros: Talented Hair Stylists
Cons: none

Stopped by this place on my lunch break to get a cut. I was fist consulted by the stylist then offered a complimentary shampoo. The stylist took his time and really was a nice guy. I really like the haircut I got here, the atmosphere is friendly and not pushy. Definitely would recommend this place.
Pros: Good Haircutting and nice atmosphere
