Best Bar in the LES
by lesgirl1
My favorite neighborhood spot. Drinks are always great, music is always on point, bartenders are all awesome and the owner is the nicest guy on the block.
Inviting atmosphere, hot bartenders, great drink prices

I really want to be selfish and not give Nurse Bettie all the props it deserves (want to keep this gem my own little secret--once you go, you'll know why). I've been to NB a few times now, and it's always goooood times. The atmposhere is hot ala Bettie Page style pin-ups, the bartenders are not only funny but they're also way cool, and the drink prices are right on. I work in an industry that allows me to sample some of the best, new hot spots, and many times I'm left feeling blah about the experience-pretentious doorman, overpriced & watered down drinks, and a space filled with way too many pretty people. Nurse Bettie breaks the mold. It's destined to be the new LES hotspot.
Best Specialty Martinis
by crysclausen
Super cool, trendy, 50s pin-up style bar with excellent specialty martinis. My favorite is the Bazooka Bettie, their bubblegum martini. Service is very attentive & friendly... definitely worth checking out! And don't forget to check out the bathroom! :)
- Pros: cheap drinks, friendly bartenders & easily accessible by train
relaxed chill atmosphere

Bartender, bouncer and owners have been friendly both times my friends and i have gone here. The decor and entire feel of this small bar is sultry. drinks are on key. the dirty martini and specialty drinks are tasteful. I like this place because it doesnt get too packed to the point where it is elbow to elbow. The burlesque show was very entertaining. must go again!
- Pros: drinks, ambiance, bartender, close to subway
Great new place in the LES
by shoe27
I accidentaly came across Nurse Bettie and have to say what a find. From the laid-back attitude of the staff to the great drink prices, NB hits the bulleyes as a new fresh place to frequent. The pin-up art and the ladies behind the bar are easy-on-the-eyes. Ask for a naughty nurse shooter! I'll definitely come back.
- Pros: Drink prices, staff, decors
- Cons: its on the cozy side.
A friendly little neighborhood bar with a preference for cocktails and pin-ups.

In Short
There's an inkling of an old-time peep show in the tinted windows' cut-out keyholes and portraits of 1950s pin-ups provocatively posed. Filling out the rest of the tiny room is a laid-back neighborhood vibe--the punky bartenders hail mostly from CBGBs and at any given moment at least a handful of the patrons are their friends. Order a vodka tonic, and the bartender may turn it around on you, proposing a dash of blueberry or one of their inventive martinis.
Great LES spot

Had a birthday party here last week. Great time. Stafff is cool. great drinks. I think what i like most about this place is that it has tons of style but no attitude. One my new favorites in the city.
Young and Good-Lookin'!

I was hoping this bar would remain my own little secret, but it looks like I'll have to share . And why not? The decor is effortlessly gorgeous and the staff are some of the sweetest, funniest people ever. And they really seem to enjoy being there. None of that pretentious attitude that you get at some of the other newish places in the area. Even the doorguy/bouncer is a fine and entertaining gentleman. Everything about this place is cool and comfortable. Try the Au Pair (a pear-infused vodka martini). It's just what the Nurse ordered!
- Pros: Service, Ambience, and awesome Vibe
Cool and classy.
by uncleleon
In a land of trendy pretense and overpriced nonsense, this place stands out as an oasis of quiet cool. The pinup theme is alluring without being obnoxious, the decor is classy without being snotty, and (by Manhattan standards) the drink prices are good. Even though it's a small place, it doesn't seem to get horribly packed. The women behind the bar are very easy on the eyes, and wickedly hilarious as well. Tip big and stay on their good side.
- Pros: Great ambience, not crowded, incredible staff
Sexiest bar in the LES

I LOVE this bar.
Great space, even better specialty drinks, and the sweetest bartenders in the city.
I fell in love with their cute DJs too. Fleetweek Fridays are always a blast.
- Pros: Specialty drinks, Hot Bartenders, Great DJs
- Cons: Only 1 bathroom!
