GREAT EXPERIENCE!
by nyc19 at Citysearch
Having never done yoga before, or any excercise for that matter, I was very nervous starting. After calling around to a number of studios and gyms Marina at Spot Yoga was by far the most understanding. After listening to my 'work-out history' (none) and my goals she paired me with Jenny. It is now coming on one year since I started and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had. Jenny has been patient, thoughtful and encouraging. I am thrilled with the progress I've made and the way that I feel now and I can't imagine coming this far without being under the tutelage of Jenny. I would highly recommend her!

I started with Spot Yoga over 7 months ago and I love them! Marina is so sweet and kind. When I first got started she hand delievered my yoga mat. I met with Sam on my first day and fell in love with him. He is now a fixture in my life and family. My body has completely transformed. I never thought I could ever do beyond 2 yoga moves, but with Sam at my side and constantly encouraging me and pushing me--I now have such flexibility and great core strength. Sam is always turning up the workouts so its challenging, fun and so very relaxing. He is a book of knowledge and during every session I am able to learn something new, such as anatomy or even the history of yoga. I am getting married next year and am actually going to cut back on some of my wedding costs, so that I never have to go without my yoga sessions. Its also a great plus to have someone come into your home and work one-on-one with you and that you feel completely comfortable with. I LOVE SAM and MARINA!!!! Join now!
- Pros: Sam Chase!!, privacy of having sessions in your own home, value of the sessions
- Cons: none!
AMAZING EXPERIENCE

Prior to my Spot Yoga experience, I have never had one-on-one yoga training. There is absolutely no comparison to group classes. The individual, personalized attention results in a completely different work-out. I now know that I was not properly doing poses and my body feels the difference in a BIG way! Marina's knowledge and teaching style encompass excellent yoga skills and training in anatomy and physiology of the body with patience and thoughtfulness.
I highly recommend Spot Yoga.
this is a no brainer...

i have been doing in home training with spot yoga for over a year. in just a few short months it was amazing how my body was transformed. the personalized attention keeps me more focused than a class or doing it on my own. they are really dedicated to creating programs that work for me and meet my goals. that's the beauty of one-on-one instruction. i have become more flexible, balanced and stronger, i actually feel taller! (and at 5'2" that's good) with my crazy schedule, the ease of being able to work out in my home at a time that works for me, made it a no brainer to integrate yoga as a regualr part of my routine.
- Pros: ease of working out when i want, one on one instruction, professtional instruction
Great! Great! Great!

I love it! I brought Spot to my office and my colleagues and I think it's brilliant. We love our midday yoga.
- Pros: Yoga as my lunchbreak
Straightforward Yoga

I've been an long-distance runner for years and never made regular stretching part of my routine. A friend recommended trying yoga. I tried a group class and the spiritual side of it wasn't what I was looking for. I really wanted to focus on getting more limber and keeping my joint mobility as I get older. I've been working with Marina and she's been great. All 45 minutes of my session are focused on the things that I need for my body. She also makes recommendations as we progress and makes sure that I'm comfortable with everything that we're currently working on. I couldn't ask for more.
Really good instructors

My schedule is erratic so I worked with more than one instructor. I eventually chose the person that I felt most comfortable with whose been my instructor for awhile. It was nice to have more than one teacher to pick from and everyone at the company seemed very supportive of each other. It's been a great experience.
- Pros: Yoga in my home at 7 am
- Cons: I wish it could cost less, but it's worth every penny!
Finally! A way to keep a workout consistent!

I have two young children and could not create time for my workout. I wasn't even sure if I'd like yoga ... I'm so happy that I'd called. It's the one way I've found to carve out a little slice of time for myself. It keeps me sane!
Best yoga experience ever, amazing instruction customized to you

Yoga with spot yoga is like no other experience. I have done pilates, gyrotonic and yoga at other locations and nothing has had this effect on me; keeping me as committed, strong, in-balance and life changing of an experience as spot yoga. I have been working with one of the instructors for over two years and I recommend this type of experience to everyone. The one on one approach is the safest and most effective way to do yoga. My instructor is constantly challenging me to try new poses while working on perfecting old poses, she asses how I feel and what is going with me to create a specific and focused routine every time we work together. The comfort and convenience of doing yoga in my own home is beyond words and the best New York moment I have. I love yoga and would only trust my practice with "spot yoga" and the experience of the spot yoga team.
