A great dining experience in the neighborhood of Murray Hill

by Lucas Eller

Located at 384 Third Avenue, between E 27th and E 28th Streets in Manhattan, Arctica Bar & Grill is a great restaurant for the outgoing crowd who loves to enjoy themselves outdoors in the afternoons and evenings, as well as for more discreet types who’d rather eat and drink indoors or in its backyard. Anywhere you are seated, you’ll get delicious food, a complete bar menu with excellent drinks, and an adorable and hospitable staff who’ll make you feel at home at all times, with their sweet and friendly smiles.

Allen Hubby, the vice-president of the world renowned Drama Book Shop, invited me for brunch on a Saturday afternoon , when the temperature was pleasant enough to sit outside, and Arctica was a perfect scenario. Due to its easy-to-read menu and good prices, we were happy and delighted, it was a very good brunch experience.

From the menu, we selected the Arctica chopped salad to start off with, and had smoked salmon with poached eggs, and steak with sunny side-up eggs for main course. Besides being really delicious, the food was also very fresh and presentable, as you can see in our pictures. On windy or rainy days, you may want to get a booth inside. It’s pretty spacious and very comfortable for parties of two or more.

Sitting outside is really delightful. Arctica Bar & Grill is a very good restaurant worth going back for more.

Amazing After Work Party

by Girls Gotta Dance

I needed a last minute after work party, so AccessGotham booked a client birthday party for free. They even got me a free cake and a round of delicious Watermelon Martinis on the house. The steak fajitas were grilled to perfection and big portions. We shot pool and had an awesome time.

Great Bro Night!

by ThatGuyJoe

Went here with a group of my friends a while ago and we all loved the place. There's honestly never a dull moment here. Billiards, TVs, two bars - the list goes on. A great place to start a night out. My friends and I used a NookOut deal (www.nookout) to get 2 hours all-you-can-drink for just $20. That got the night goin quickly!

Great Drinks!

by Erin Warner

Overall all Arctica is a great find in the Murry Hill neighborhood. This is a terrific place to plan a birthday or to plan a corporate event at.

They make delicious cocktails and with plenty of options, there's certainly one for everyone. The prices are also very reasonable and it won't place a dent on your wallet.

All large groups should book ahead as this place can get crowded on at times. I found a party planner called AccessGotham. com and they setup me there when I go with a group of 12 or more friends. This gets us free admission and sometimes a few free comped drink tickets!

Thanks Arctica

Spacious but Bartender is Clueless

by marisa 17

I think that if you're not a regular here and the bartender doesn't know you, you may be given the cold shoulder. I don't know what it is that brings me back to this place but, maybe it's because I have good company each time I come here and I don't really pay attention to the service. The last time, the bartender didn't notice we all had empty drinks until we yelled loudly from the end of the bar and basically dragged him over to our side. Other than that, don't expect too much from here.

It's spacious and there's always plenty of seating even if you get out of work at 6pm. The appetizers are typical for a bar/restaurant but there's nothing special. The A/C is always on and the specials are decent so if you don't really care about service then definitely come to this place.

Great cocktails and food!!

by laurentomkins

Came for my sisters friends birthday the other night. About 30 of us walked in together and it was pretty full but they still found us a nice section to hang out together. 2 knockout drinks, had the blackberry fizz champagne and a cucumber vodka drink with cilantro!! I know. Super tasty. Servers were super nice. Had an amazing Tuna Tartare and some spicy spanish potato dish. Yum yum.

  • Pros: Great staff, food, drinks.

The best Tuna tartare i've ever had

by leahbernstein

On a high recommendation for a neighborhood friend i visited the restaurant only last night. Sat at the bar for a mere 20 mins to wait for a table and had an amazing cocktail called a ginger sidecar presented elequently by an Irish Guy i believe named James. Having never been a gin drinker i was pleasantly surprised.

But now to the food. Tuna tartare and buschetta to start. Chickpea's and mini Mozerella balls is something i've never heard of on bruschetta before but it was a home run and the Tuna was to die for.

For dinner i had a Chilli rubbed salmon with sugar snap peas and rice and my companion had a sizzling, and i do mean sizzling Fajita. Execution and presentation flawless. The female server, southern and nice, was informed but not overbearing which is refreshing. Quite cheap overall which is even better.

  • Pros: Expansive menu. Ginger Sidecar.

Came expecting tater tots..............got so much more!!!

by paulyladadau

Where to begin. I've lived by this place for 2 months now and never really ventured in. Went for beers during a packed US/England game last week and had a look at the menu expecting the usual breadcrumbed fare. Good lord was i wrong.

Amidst the mayhem the bartender saw i wanted to eat so found me and my friend a stool. I has scallops Benedict, Lollipop Lambchops in some sort of Moroccan sauce and the best Mac and Cheese i've ever tasted. Been back twice this week to try and get thru the entire menu. Also recommend the Tuna Tartare, Pork Shank and Meatloaf. Yes Meatloaf. Beer wise cant beat Delirium, Leffe and HoffBrau on Tap. I think i may have to move in here!!!!

  • Pros: Scallops Benedict & Delirium.
  • Cons: Probably wont let me live here!!

Surprisingly Good Brunch

by caryn donohue

I like Arctica and often forget about it since it's in that stretch of bars on 3rd Avenue. I've been several times for happy hours and parties and always enjoy myself. I also really like their brunch. I needed a spot for my mom and aunt so AYCD wasn't what we had in mind. For food only, this is a great and affordable spot with most items under $10. We had a salad, eggs benedict and eggs florentine and everything was sooooo good. I'll definitely be back for drinks and brunch food!

  • Pros: Brunch food and prices, overall atmosphere
