Love, Love, Big Love! This place is so fantastic to go with your friends before or after a movie at the nearby theatres. It is also very romantic, so I can imagine that it would be a great date spot....apres dinner.

The place was comfortable. The food was average. The service was average. It's a good stop for a glass of wine .A bit more of costumer service is welcome.I have been to Bar Baresco in chelsea i will go back!.

Pros: come on!

Cons: hold on!

My boyfriend and I went to Barcibo this past Sunday night and thought the place was great. The ambience is laid-back without being too casual, and the service was attentive but not overbearing. The chicken panini was very tasty and so was the funghi risotto (would definitely recommend this dish). The biggest draw on the menu is the large wine selection, but it would have been nice to have a bit more choices on food as well. In any case, a solid choice for a casual night out.

Pros: location, ambience

Cons: limited food menu

My boyfriend and I decided to meet for drinks at Barcibo since we live just a few blocks away. It was a busy Friday night and I asked the host how long the wait would be. He told me about 20 minutes and walked away. I followed him and told him I don't mind the wait and then went to the bar. 2 drinks and an hour later, I approached the host and asked him if a table would be available soon and he said that I was next. We were starved at this point but we thought since we've waited this long let's just wait a few more minutes. Another 1/2 hour went by and I went to him and asked again, he brushed me off and said, yes, yes your next. Obviously I was NOT next since he seated another 2 top before us. It's just unbelievable that in New York City a tapas bar can have such an ego that it just flat out ignores customers. We walked 2 blocks up and ate at a perfectly delicious French restaurant where the host told us 10 minutes and 10 minutes later we were ordering drinks at our table. With that kind of customer service the place will be out of business in a year.

Pros: Great place to go if you know the obnoxious host

Cons: you'll never get seated, $15 glasses of average wine

Went to Barcibo since a friend lives in the apt building next door. It was packed at 8:30pm on a Friday night but we were lucky enough to snag two seats. I had three great wines by the glass while my friend sampled their nice imported beer selection. For food, we tried the sweet sausage with broc. rabe and giant beans (very tasty), tuna carpaccio with arugula, as well as some proscuitto and two cheeses. The gorgonzola dolce is delicious! The menu boasts a variety of italian style, tapas sized dishes that can be shared; perfect for sampling. Nice, warm atmosphere, super friendly service (Mark, the manager is a true gentleman), and enormous wine list make this bar a winner. Will surely be regular spot for us.

Pros: varied wine list, good food choices

Cons: gets very loud, hard to find seats at prime hours

Great experience, very interesting Italian wines, great menu and atmosphere....sweet Italian sausages with canneloni beans or risotto with 3 mushrooms were very tasty... A plate with 5 Italian cheeses was large enough for 3 and it's only 21 bucks. I asked Mark - manager and bartender that night, to surprise us with an unusual flight of three less known Italian reds. Cannonau de Sardinia and Rosso di Montefalco were our favorites. We also tried a very interesting Austrian grape transplanted in Alto Adige, Lagrein. Bricchetto - a slightly fizzy Sicilian dessert wine, pairing our chesse plate - was offered on the house. We can't wait to get back for their heavy artillery - Amarone, Barolo and Super Tuscans. The wine portfolio at Barcibo has 300 Italian only bottles. Thirty wines are available by the glass. C & A

Pros: great selection of Italian wines, very well priced, good food

Cons: only Italian wines...
