Weave fell apart fast
by VHills at Citysearch
Had a weave with Catherine. Fell apart rather fast. I hate to complain, but I was not pleased. She is a nice women, don't get me wrong, she was a sweet woman, but the quality wasn't great of the work.
- Pros: Nice Woman
- Cons: Weave fell apart fast

I cannot stress enough for clients to contact me if there are ANY issues, questions, or concerns with the services they receive. Did the weave pull away at the sides, the hair slip away from the track??? While this is rare, I can make any adjustment in 10 minutes. I?ve tried to contact this client to no avail. I do know that she came to me right after her double process high lift blonde color and her hair was very fragile from the color. She insisted that she had weaves all the time after color and it would be no problem. I did notice that I could not pull the hair as tight as I normally would so as to not break it. I stressed to her to get tightening?s in between her color to give the hair cuticle a chance to recover. I don?t have any other clients that go less than 5 weeks between tightening?s. I have another client with double process blonde hair that gets 6 weeks. Again, communication could easily resolve the situation as I always guarantee my work.
Great Hair!

I started getting extensions with Catherine 3 years ago. I have fine, thin, frizzy curly hair that breaks easily and would only grow to shoulder length. We started with 2 tracks of hair to achieve length to my lower middle back. Catherine insisted I get small trims on my hair, use good products and basically take good care of my own hair. I eventually got to one track of hair to fill out my ends and add a few inches as my own hair grew to about 2-3 inches past my shoulders. My hair was still fine, frizzy, and unruly but it was healthier and did grow some. Catherine kept mentioning the Coppola Keratin treatment for my hair and that it would make my hair controllable, take out the frizz, and fill in my weak fragile ends. I was hesitant but she kept bringing it up so I finally tried it. OMG! - Coppola changed my life. I’ve since repeated the treatment 3 times. My hair doesn’t frizz ever – it is soft, wavy, and does not puff out like it use to. I let it air dry and go. I still wear 1 piece of hair extension to thicken up my hair - but my own hair is now to the middle of my back and healthy. It’s like I have someone else’s hair! Catherine goes above and beyond – truly amazing!
- Pros: Best Extensions in the States!
Bad experience
by JNEOJ at Citysearch
It is sad that I have to write this, but I do. I had a very poor experience with Catherine. The weave re-done was VERY tight. I have a high tolerance pain, yet the way the extensions were put it was extremely tight. I said it to Catherine several times, however, all that I got back was "well, if you can't deal with it, I can't do them". I was VERY shocked. I needed my extensions, but I wish I just walked away. To credit ; I did like the how the extensions were placed, I liked the flatness of the braids, but after a week ( not kidding) of not being able to put my head on a pillow I went to a different salon ( unfortunately Catherine was out of town) and upon evaluation needed to have my extensions removed. I have sore sites all around where the extensions were placed, I need to wait a little to get extensions re-put in,and I am very upset, as long hair is a part of me, and the extensions were there to help my hair grow after a bad haircut. Not to mention that it cost me another 200 to have the extensions removed. Very upset. As well as the fact that I felt that I had to say everything : how I wanted to have my extensions put it, where , etc. I had a piece from a previous stylist what was added to one side to even out the fullness. Catherine didn't think it was needed, I did, but I am used to trusting the stylist ( mistake all around in this case) , but when I came home , I very visibly had much less hair on one side, then the other, and you could really tell from the back. Catherine DID offer to put it in later, but with her schedule and my schedule, it was very difficult to make arrangements on time. The fact that I had to walk out with the hair neither blow-dried, no styled - because she ran out of time . Although blow drying does not take that much time - made me walk out in tears. I have never had a stylist treating me poorly like that. she did offer to sit under the 'hood" ( the kind you get your color done under) . but WHAT would I look like AFTER? An afro? Disappointment. Yes, it is cheap. I saw a lot of positive reviews and that is why I went to Catherine. Upset with the way I was treated and the result.
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: You get what you pay for

I was not contacted about this situation and only found out after customary follow up and bad review. We had scheduled appointments to add hair which the client had to cancel. Scalp irritation was never mentioned. As far as I knew, the appointment took longer than the client expected and her priority was getting home to her baby. After lengthy emails, the client and I agreed this was a MASSIVE miscommunication, lack thereof and bad timing. The limited words allowed here isn?t enough to explain in detail. Please email me for a detailed response contained in the emails back and forth. My goal is always first and foremost, to maintain or improve the client's own hair. Scalp irritation is not the norm. I have many clients who started with me getting extensions and continued afterwards with other services. I am very concerned that each client is 100% satisfied with any service they receive and am happy to refund their money as I did in this case.
Bad hair weaves
by getThompson at Citysearch
Had a hair weave with Catherine. Two months after, when I removed the hair weave, I had a bald spot.
I still have that bald spot today. I spent a fortune on this weave, and it ruined my hair.
Go elsewhere
- Pros: None that I can think of
- Cons: Hair Weaves

It is disheartening to hear that someone has had a bad experience with my work since I strive to insure top quality and no damage. It's also frustrating when I have no idea who the client is as I searched my records to no avail. I was never contacted and given the opportunity to remedy the situation. Regarding the bald spot, you cannot remove your own track and expect to not damage your hair. I am very explicit in the Maintenance Care Sheet I give every client that tightening or removal is required every 5-6 weeks. As far as hair quality, I use only European and/or Virgin Indian hair which is top quality hair. Any hair will appear poor without the proper shampoos and conditioners. If the client has problems with the hair and contacts me, and if the problem can?t be remedied (in rare instances), I replace the hair. I very much value every client and always guarantee my work. However, I cannot solve the problem when not given the opportunity in a timely manner. "
Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Catherine is amazing and her prices are a steal, and I have paid $250 for a haircut at Fekkai, paid $500 for highlights at other top-tier salons, and nobody has ever satisfied me like Catherine has. She listened to what I wanted, told me frankly what was possible with my hair and body type, and gave me the most flattering and complimentary hair colouring job ever. When it comes to hair, I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. She has got it down. She also cares for her clients and there hair, I have had a lot of damage done to my hair in the past due to Job reasons and having to dye it, Catherine was so careful with my hair but gave me what I wanted. not only is she great at highlights she also is WONDERFUL at Extenstions. She has been doing Extenstions for years and is truly a pro. With her extenstions she has transformed my hair from dull and weak to full and beautiful. Catherine has worked miracles on my hair from colour and cut to Extenstions. I have Travelled The Country going to the top salons in the states, and I have never walk out of a salon feeling so great and loving my hair. Turst me you wont be dissipointed with her work. and I highly, highly recommned her if you are looking to add extenstions to your hair. She makes all trypes of Extenstions and styles her methoods are the least damageing to the hair. No one ever knows I have Extnestions in. Trust me when I say this SHE IS WONDERFUL!!!
- Pros: Amazing, sweet, fun,
- Cons: nothing
Beautiful High Quality Hair Extensions!
by AlexandraDoran at Citysearch
I just started going to Catherine this year. I decided that I really wanted hair extensions after going through treatment for cancer. I had to wait until my hair grew out a little bit then I began my search. There are SO many people that advertise for hair extensions but luckily I called Catherine. She is truly an artist and is nothing but accommodating, knowledgeable, and sweet. The hair she uses is very high quality and the results are unbeatable. I LOVE MY HAIR!
- Pros: Everything!
- Cons: None!
Extensions - aways amazed!
by medea101 at Citysearch
I have worked next to Catherine for years, and in all that time, all I have ever seen is excellent work. I am always amazed when the client is finished and has hair that is perfectly matched in color and texture. I have never seen anyone have the patience and detail that she puts into her work. She uses high quality hair, and she cares enough to make sure the client understands properly, how to take care of the hair, so it can last as long as possible. The other stylists clients' are always fasinated with the process. And I have never seen anyone leave unhappy. I highly reccomend Extensions by Catherine!!!!!!!
Restored my Hair and Self esteem

I went to get a long layered cut on my almost waist length hair and ended up with chopped up, neck length hair??I found Catherine through google/citysearch reviews which are dead on! I now have long layered hair while my own hair is growing out. I also intend to stay with Catherine for haircuts and styling after my own hair grows out. She is a pro!
- Pros: I look great!
I absolutely LOVE MY HAIR!
by sherri24 at Citysearch
I?ve received tons of compliments. My hair looks really good ? I was actually surprised how good it looked after having done it on my own for the first time and how easy it is to do. All the reviews I read about Catherine are right on. I finally have the long, lustrous hair I?ve always dreamed of. Thanks a million!
- Pros: Everything was perfect.
- Cons: none
Quality Hair Extensions
by ariel4477 at Citysearch
I am very happy with my hair extensions from Catherine. The hair is soft and silky and matches perfectly.
She is truly a professional in all aspects of her work. I also have to say that her prices for the quality of work and hair are really a great value. She should be charging more! I really shopped around and did a lot of research. I also have a friend who paid a lot more money and the hair she received is falling out in less than a few months and overall does not look natural as it is dry and does not blend well. Needless to say, I have recommended Catherine to her.
- Pros: Excellent value for quality hair extensions.
- Cons: None
