Simply put, Sharon Yeung has changed my life. For several years I struggled with intense stomach pain, acid reflux and digestive issues. I tried everything (or so I thought)- changing my diet, taking prescription meds- nothing worked until I met Sharon. I originally went to see Sharon to deal with severe anxiety and depression. I was at a point where nothing I was doing was making me feel better. I was willing to try anything, despite my skepticism about Eastern Medicine. She made me feel comfortable from the first day I met her. Sharon not only worked with me to ease my stress and negativity, but also treated my digestive tract with acupuncture and herbs. Almost immediately, I started noticing a difference. She is a great listener, a wonderful healer and confidant. She genuinely cares for her patients, which is why I have recommended her to many friends and co-workers. I am happy to say that they have had life-changing experiences as well. Thanks to Sharon's care and support, my digestive issues have been treated and I am no longer struggling with anxiety and depression. I highly recommend giving Sharon a try. I hope that you will be as blessed with her healing care as I have been.

I came to Sharon over a year and a half ago with chronic insomnia, and though I was using prescription sleep aids regularly, I still rarely slept through the night. Unlike the many other doctors I have seen for my insomnia, Sharon did not ask me to shape my life around my treatments, but rather, took tremendous care to work with me to integrate my treatments into my life. When I started acupuncture, I was afraid that I would become reliant on my treatments, as I had on my prescribed medications, but after three months, when I took a break from treatments to test this theory, I found that my quality of sleep was still vastly improved. I now see Sharon on a "maintenance" treatment plan, and with her help, I continue to see a huge difference in the quality of my sleep. Over the past year and a half, Sharon has helped me to sleep through a stressful job transition, an apartment search, and innumerable small crisis that would have previously kept me tossing and turning for weeks on end!

As an acupuncturist and doula, Sharon Yeung played an invaluable role in assisting me with the birth of my first child. She met with me and my husband a few weeks prior to ascertain what kind of birth we were envisioning (I had hoped for a natural birth) and how best she might assist. Sharon gave me a routine acupuncture induction treatment in my 38th week to help prepare my body for labor, which started 5 days later. Once labor started, she was available immediately for advice by phone and soon arrived at our home to assist. Her combined skills, as well as her calm and nurturing presence, were invaluable to me and my husband. Throughout the 24 or so hours of my labor, Sharon was right there with me, giving acupuncture treatments for pain and nausea, suggesting different positions to keep me comfortable, applying counter-pressure during contractions, making sure I stayed nourished and hydrated, guiding me with deep breathing and generally just being a wonderful emotional support. Sharon has an innate ability to make timely and helpful suggestions without putting on pressure or being too overbearing. She teamed up very well with my husband (and later, with the midwife and nurses at the hospital) to keep labor progressing smoothly. I found that having a doula to assist with labor removed the worry of uncertainty. I was fortunate to be able to have the natural birth I had envisioned, due in no small part to having a trained professional there to judge where I was in the process and keep things calm, allowing me to concentrate on the task at hand. Beyond this, I would highly recommend Sharon as a doula because of her empathetic nature as well her tireless work ethic, at every moment assessing the situation and determining how best to be of help. If I have another child I sincerely hope that Sharon can be with me during the labor and birth!
Pros: professional, available, and invaluable

It is not often that I am motivated to write a testimonial, but in this case I thought it important to write about the care and concern I received and the improvement I made while seeing Sharon as a patient over a three month period. When I first saw Sharon, I had several complaints (IBS, acid reflux, anxiety) and a general feeling of malaise. I am delighted to say, in that time, under Sharon’s care, I made significant improvement and turned the corner on the path to recovery. I felt more balanced, healthy, strong, vibrant and happy. I regained “myself”. What also impressed me so much about Sharon was her compassion, dedication, warmth and personal touch. She made you feel as if you were her only client. Always on top of your condition, Sharon spent a good amount of time discussing your issues, symptoms, concerns and feelings prior to each treatment. She also was quick to respond by phone or email to answer any questions or follow up when necessary. Sharon Yeung is a practitioner who excels in her profession. She brings an holistic perspective in caring for her patients and a true gift for healing.

I went to see Sharon when I was four weeks postpartum. I had been committed to breastfeeding my new baby and was devastated when I lost my milk a week after he was born. I followed the recommendations of my pediatrician and a lactation consultant, but felt that I could be doing more. I didn’t know too much about acupuncture but I respected its wisdom. Sharon took a thorough history and performed my physical. After diagnosing me, she prescribed twice daily herbs and performed acupuncture on me weekly. While I was in her office, she also performed massage on my son to aid his digestion and to help him process his vaccines. Throughout our consultations, Sharon was thoroughly professional and delightful. My son is now nearly eight months old and I am happy to say he is still breastfeeding exclusively!

I sought treatment from Sharon for a back injury. I went to Sharon in the hopes that I could release some of the muscles that were contracting and also help with the healing of a small ligament that had been sprained as a result of a fall. Sharon gave me acupuncture treatment as well as some hands on work. She not only addressed my back but also offered treatment and advice on other aspects of my general health and wellness. She was thorough and clear and completely present. Through her open and supportive presence and thorough treatment, I was able to completely let go physically and emotionally during our session. This was key to my healing process. She has a wonderful way with her clients and keen insight into what treatments would be most effective. I highly recommend her, she is a treasure.

Sharon Yeung is my practitioner. She is a compassionate, friendly and knowledgeable practitioner who listens with her head and her heart. She provided caring support to me during my recovery. I was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, which caused paralysis and loss of sensation in both my legs, incontinence in my bladder and severe spasms. I went through chemotherapy and was taking lots of medication to restore my health. Throughout my recovery, acupuncture and herbs helped relieve my pain, discomfort, and reduce my spasms. The acupuncture treatments enabled me to relax and move more fluidly as movement in my limbs started to return. I feel that it was instrumental in helping my body to heal so that I could walk again.

Although I was initially skeptical of acupuncture, I came to Sharon based on the suggestion of my father and a very positive recommendation from a friend who had gone to her previously. I was having sinus, allergy and immune system issues. I had gotten sick four times in one month and was feeling so run down I was having difficulty functioning at an acceptable level in school and at work. Sharon made me feel very comfortable from the moment I walked into her office, and spent a lot of time with me at my initial visit taking down my history, lifestyle and learning about my current health issues. She is incredibly knowledgeable about her practice and will freely and eruditely answer any questions you might have. Her approach takes into account the whole person and is very patient-centered. But, most importantly, after about 3 months of treatment, I felt immeasurably better and have not gotten sick since. I can recommend Sharon with full confidence and without any reservation.

Sharon Yeung is a healer. She has helped me enormously with my discomfort from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Her custom herbal prescriptions and dietary recommendations have almost eliminated the abdominal spasms and bloating that I used to experience. Through these remedies and her application of acupuncture Sharon has not only aided my digestion, but has also been able to contain an ovarian cyst from growing larger, and has given me relief from my periodic bouts of depression. In addition, Sharon follows an intuitive and holistic approach through her practice of Chinese medicine. She possesses a kind and sweet nature. It is a pleasure to work with her and I always look forward to our sessions.

I had a persistent sports injury that no one else could diagnose or treat. Sharon helped me with posture and a topical herbal lotion, and now I'm back in action!
