Great little hidden salon. guys don't want anything too fancy, they want a decent price and they want someone who knows what they're doing. i tried a few stylists there. Candice was definitely the best. she can do funky, cool cuts and can suggest looks when you have no idea what you want. highly recommend her. not sure how often she works there. you can contact her: Candice (347) 224-9689

This place was AMAZING. I went to David; I have SUPER thick hair and I've had some recent disasters with bob cuts, because my hair would stick out in the back. I went here today with a picture on my iPod of how I wanted it, and David even went over to the computer and looked it up to get a bigger idea of it. I got Victoria Beckham's "pob," and it really does look exactly how I wanted it. I didn't think it would work with my thick hair, but it did.

Pros: Talented stylist

Cons: the hostess seemed a little mean

I really like this salon. It's not the most customer oriented salon but will do. I usually pay a few hundred dollars on my hair. I don't care paying that much , as long as I know , I am getting the best. I have been to bumble and bumble , warren tricomi, frederic fekkai , etc,etc.. Shears,hustle,andblow salon have by far the best hair stylists in nyc in my opinion. I have tried everyone there and they're all equally pretty good but each one have they're own style and technique . I sometimes let Tomas do my hair when no one else's available, mostly just blow-dries. They just hired a new girl "Candice", she is "AMAZING"!!! I'ved never gotten so many compliments on my color.

Pros: Simply the best

Cons: customer service could be better

If you want a great cut, style, or even color, contact Tomas, he is a great guy. He will actually listen to what you want and need. You wont be disappointed.....he is very flexible as well with his schedule.... =0 I am always so happy when I leave Tomas, I feel like a new man again......

This small salon hides a great gem and his name is Tomas. I'm skeptical when it comes to trying out new stylists because of my thick, curly hair but Tomas really worked it. He completely understood my apprehensions and I'm so glad I put my trust in him. I couldn't be happier! He's the one! But I'm willing to share, so if you go to Shears, you HAVE to go to Tomas! I've referred my friends to him and they all love him as well.

Was recommended by a friend of mine and after reading great reviews I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm defiantly not disappointed! A nice atmosphere, no long waits, staff was very friendly and stylist did an excellent job! He obviously knew what he was doing and knew exactly what I wanted. As soon as I got my haircut I received compliments from strangers on the street. I defiantly recommend Shears Hustle and Bl0w salon to anyone who wants a great hairstyle for a reasonable price. Keep up the good work!

Pros: Atmosphere, Skill, Staff, Value, Skill

Cons: Kind of hidden, might walk in circles if your not familiar with the area

This salon has the most amazing Stylist...his name is Tomas. Excellent service and care to my hair!! Very confident and knows what he is doing. Rendered my hair into exactly what I wanted and then some. I now have a great and funky style. Suits my whole look. And...everyone loves it! I ahev been stopped on the street and told how HOT my hair looks. Of course I told them where and who to go to...Tomas...at Shears Hustle & Blow...check him out...you won't be sorry...

I love Ricky's for Halloween costumes and random other things. But I had no idea they would open a salon and on top of that it be a great place to get a great cut and style at a very reasonable price. They also offered personalized service and the staff was amazing. Tomas especially was a wonderful stylist - very intense, cared about his work, and had a great attitude. Everyone was extremely friendly and the salon, despite being in a busy area, offered personalized service and a neighborhoody feel. Will definitely be coming back!
