Yummy gelato and sorbet

by NewYorking

This is a gem on UWS. Awesome thick creamy gelato - I love the pistachio. Their sorbets are excellent too - I had the apricot sorbet yesterday and it was perfect. I will definitely go there again and highly recommend it. I love that the gelato is so creamy.

great on a hot day

by chelsealeeny

it's the uws and walking around to stop and get a tasty treat is a fun thing to do. they are open late-ish, so if you go and catch a movie, it's there. love all the flavors i have tried so far-and they are generous with samples and explanations. sure it's $5, but its a life saver in ny humidity.

best gelato?

by beanpod

I tried there new location in the village for what i read was the best gelato around, what a disappointment. What they are trying to push as gelato is just above average ice cream that i can get at any ice cream place around the city and 5 dollars for a small cup? Way over priced for what? real Gelato is supposed to be smooth and creamy this was neither. Maybe there working out the kinks. i'll try back in a few weeks to see if they really now what there doing.

  • Pros: corner location
  • Cons: way to expensive for average ice cream

High-end Italian gelatos and sorbets fulfill cravings and empty wallets on the Upper West Side.

by Justin Hartung

In Short
The city has been experiencing an uptick of frozen treat options, and no spot has received as much buzz as this gelato chain in its U.S. debut. All walks of Upper West Siders--from tipsy post-dinner dates to soccer Moms looking for a mid-day sugar high--form long lines for the all-natural gelatos and sorbets. Seasonally changing flavors read like an Italian Greenmarket inventory: ricotta made from sheep's milk, zabaione made with Marsala wine, and pink grapefruit sorbet.

GROM, THE BEST

by francescaoconn

Though I haven't been to GROM in Manhattan, I was thrilled to read that there is one there. Even though I have never found it mentioned in a Florence guidebook, it is my favorite gelateria, better than Perche No and others which are usually recommended. I never miss a chance to go there when I am in Florence. I am sure that it is equally as good in Manhattan.
