Lola's was great. 5 of us went here for my mother's birthday and she was so excited. The ambience of the restaurant was so beautiful. The food was great and the service was fantastic. Would I do it again....of course!.
Worst food and service ever!!!

Me and my friend usually go to Zoe for their signature fried calamari but it's closed on Mn,so we decided to try smth new. Went to Lola. We took crab bisque, fried calamari and crab cakes. Everything was horrible!!! Soup was with strange taste and spicy, crab cakes were so bad I couldn't even chew it. And calamari were all fried with a lot of oil on them, couldn't eat them. The waiter took forever and I couldn't wait to get the check and run out of there!
They are thieves

I was here for a wedding that rented out the restaurant. At 11:45pm after many guests had left, and everyone was up listening to the toasts, my camera was taken off my table. I was sitting in the back with only 3 other tables and right next to the kitchen. The owner couldn't have cared less. I would have understood if I had just been eating at the restaurant on a normal night, but I was surrounded by friend/family, and there wasn't anyone back there when it went missing. Besides this, the food was MEDIOCRE, and the overall service TERRIBLE. The restaurant is beautiful, but completely not worth the prices and quality of the food. If you go here, make sure you watch your things closely.
- Pros: Atmosphere
- Cons: Food and service
Lola

Having read about the controversy surrounding this spot, my husband and I decided to give it a try. What a mistake!
We live in the neighborhood and rarely give reviews on City Search, except when we meet a bomb and want to warn others away - as a public service. This is the case with Lola!
Of all the decent restaurants in Soho, why choose this overpriced, dead, oddly decorated establishment?
When the place is half empty at 8 pm on a Saturday that is a WARNING!
We had intended to go to on the previous day, Friday, and sit at the front by the open French doors to get a feel of the street scene, but when we realized that the place is located on the main entrance to the Holland Tunnel, and there was gridlock of Jersey-bound cars for hours, with smelly exhaust, constant horn honking, and occasional loud car music, we decided to forgo the torture and to wait till the next day.
We should have known about the traffic jams, but didn't realize how bad it must be to sit for two hours in a traffic nightmare while eating poorly seasoned fare.
We also wondered how people arriving by car could get to this place. It was wall-to-wall traffic for blocks. Taxi anyone?
Anyway, we have eaten at other good restaurants in the area, Cipriani, Felix, Balthazar, even Lupa has decent cheap food. But - bow, wow - for lola.
Forget the exotic drinks. I love Tanqueray and Tonic, a simple but difficult drink to get right, and this was the WORST I ever had. Too much tonic. Ugh.
The food was not the soul food that i expected, but overpriced regional food. You want soul food? Go to Sylvia's or Tom's in Bklyn.
Worse, was the fawning owners who would unctiously hover over our table. Too bad the servers didn't. They were inexperienced, it seems. Maybe college kids on summer break.
The food is overpriced, we felt.
We nixed the desserts, just to get out of the place.
AVOID!
Excellent brunch spot

Sunday Brunch at Lola was fantastic. The service was wonderful, very attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious, including the gelato that was the perfect end to the meal. The restaurant was cozy without being crowded, and a party nearby was set off so we never heard them, though they looked like they were enjoying themselves. We didn't sit at the bar, but it looked friendly and inviting.
- Pros: Excellent food, attentive and competent service, warm atmosphere
- Cons: None

I surprised my sister with an early dinner party at LOLA last month for her graduation... AMAZING is an understatement!!!!!!!!!! The food was FABULOUS!!!! The decor was SPLENDID!!!! And what sealed the deal was the CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! The owners (Lola and her husband), personally came in periodically to check on us!!!! The experience was GREAT!!!! Its a bit on the pricey side... but ts well worth it!!!! The salmon was great!!!! And so were the POMEGRANITE martinis!!!!! Check it out! You won't regret it!!!
- Pros: EVERYTHING
- Cons: NOTHING
Great Restaurant in Soho

Yesterday my daughter took me here for lunch for my birthday and it was perfect! The meal, service and ambiance excellent. I will definitely go back. Great menu and incredible gelato. Wish I had gotten waiter's name, he was superb.
- Pros: Excellent food and service, great menu and good prices
- Cons: A very minor thing, waiter could have cleaned bread crumbs from table before dessert.
G-R-E-A-T Customer service, food is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S

I love LOLA. The food is superb, the decor is wonderful, and LOLA is is FABULOUS! The service is excellent, excellent, and did I say excellent. I received just enough attention but did not feel intruded upon. The atmosphere is great and when they get the music back, there will be a waiting list to get in. The pecan crusted Salmon is great and my coconut rice was good!
- Cons: You must go to Lola's after 7pm when the rush hour traffic is over and you can park
Perfect

Great night

Definitely worth the wait!!! As an old patron of Lola (22nd Street) I was excited to finally visit the SoHo location. The place is absolutely beautiful. I attended my siblings' birthday party with a group of 12 and we had the best time ever. The calamari as a starter was just perfect I must say, spicy and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My entree, recommended by Lola herself, the Bayou Pirogue, was just phenomenal. The velvet cake for desert was delicious. Everyone at our table had a really great time. Our server was very attentive and sweet and checked on us just the right amount of times. I would highly recommend a visit to the new location. Both Lola and her husband, Tom, the owners came over to the table to check on us. They were so gracious and sweet! The only disappointment was that there was no live music! But there was great music playing by speaker. I hope you get your live music back soon! Thanks for making this special night, extra special. We will definitley be back!!!!
- Pros: Great atmosphere, great service and great food
- Cons: Can't wait for the live music to return
