Not only is Evolution an aesthetically beautiful salon/spa, but their "green" philosophy along with the sweetest friendliest most professional staff left me wanting to make this a place I return to for all my salon/spa needs! Owned and operated by the beautiful Natasha Paul this environmentally savvy spa can make you gorgeous while educating you in all the health and life benefits of all things organic and natural. Even the retail beauty products Natasha offers are organic and good for our bodies and planet. I bought shampoo that is 75% aloe vera and I love it!!!! My hair is better hydrated and feels wonderful! After my first visit I felt I had found a fantastic salon that was good for me too! You will leave there looking Fab with a huge smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart :)

I work for essence magazine and friend of mine told me about this great salon that I should visit, now if anyone are familiar with the magazine, you know our staff is constantly on the look out for the best thing, so I decided to visit. Well for starters the place is beautiful, I felt a sense of calm,warmth and tranquility when I entered. My stylist Natasha,greated me and we sat down for a consultation, that is rear these days in ethnic salons, half of the time you don't even know who your stylist is going to be untill it's time to style you. I truly felt pampered at Evolution, they even have a beautiful garden area where you can relax and have a beverage. Even though they are on point with the no waiting policy, if you ever had to, trust me you would not mine. I must say this salon out did there self and should be considered a 5 star salon. I came out looking fabulous, I looooove my hair. Thanks to Evolution, I finally found a salon family.

Pros: Not only is this place beautiful, they know how to do some hair

Cons: There constantly booked(Good thing for them)( bad thing for me)

I must admitt I was a little turned off by the last customer review I read when I was researching a salon that's convenient for me. However, I was very curious because it's hard to find salons that is top knotch when it comes to quality customer service, and then I said to myself in every salon there is always a stylist that is good but not great. To make a long story short I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very warm and friendly, that's always a plus for me, I proceed to schedule an appointment and the policy was explained to me so I won't recieve any unexspected suprises about price or anything else. I was givin an appointment with Natasha, the owner. Lets start out by saying, I am very picky when it comes down to my hair, but Natasha was able to exceed my expectations. She is amazing, not only does she listen, she was very knowledgable, which made me feel very comfortable. It's an unfortunate situation that the person who wrote that last review was unhappy, she could not have gotten her hair done by Natasha, because if she did, trust me she would not have written a review about sad hair. Not only does this salon exceed your exspectation only quality customer service they do great hair.

Pros: I recieved alot more than what I exspected in service

Cons: Parking on the weekdays, not a problem on weekends.

As a frequent visitor /reviewer of black salons, this was one of the nicest I have visited. The salon was clean, beautifully maintained, and the staff was pleasant. Many know that this is a sad rarity in black hair care. It was indeed a 5 star salon with 5 star treatment (although, the staff should pay more individualized attention to its customers instead of multitasking on 3 or more heads at once). Like other reviewers, I loved the instant, no-wait service and the offers of tea, water, and snacks. That being said, as wonderful as the accomodations were, the most important thing in choosing a salon is how well they actually do your hair. And sadly, I was sorely disappointed with the substantive service at the Green Room. To make a long story short, I went in for a texturizer and came out with a half-relaxed mullet. The front was texturized beautifully, while the back was bone straight in numerous spots. After spending a significant sum of money on my texturizer and style, I had to go to Tendrils Salon less than 4 days later, and spent another $200 on a corrective cut (almost all of the straight hair at the back had to be cut off so that the ridiculous straightened mullet in the back was made even with the curly fro in front). The worst part was that the staff at the Green Room, while polite, did not take my concerns seriously, and tried to convince me against all evidence, that the hair looked "fine;" the salon took no responsibility for the awful job that they clearly did. In the service industry, both quality of work and customer service are key. While they appear to have somewhat mastered customer service at Green Room, their quality could use some work. Since I'd rather not walk around with a ridiculous hair cut, I'll be returning to Tendrils, or maybe hopping over to Mishon Mishon for my next cut...while they may be only 2, 3 or 4 star salons, they don't mess around with customer satisfaction and simply beautiful cuts and styles.

Pros: Beautiful surroundings, nice people, refreshments. If you just want to hang out, it's perfect.

Cons: Bad hair for days until I scheduled a correction elsewhere; unreceptive to customer concerns.

OKAY so I'm very picky about my hair! In most cases I've found that my first visit is usually my last but not anymore! EVOLUTION is amazing and I'm so glad that I decided to give them a try. I wanted to try them out after noticing a review on City Search but since I only read one good review I wanted to wait for more people to write in. After 13 really good reviews I tried it out on Tuesday. Evolution gives you everything you've been looking for in a salon; warm and friendly staff, a soothing/relaxing atmosphere, knowledgeable stylists who know how to communicate with you, discuss your concerns and answer your questions. Not to mention they have a really great line of exclusive products that are Organic (70% Aloe) The Owner Natasha was the first one to greet me with a smile and asked me if I wanted a beverage. She asked one of her lovely Assistants (Vanessa) to take my coat and then my Stylist Naidra greeted me and asked me to fill out my hair evaluation card. Naidra looked at my hair and said that I had a very nice healthy head of hair which is surprising because you know most people will tell you negative things straight out the gate. She told me about the products, asked me about my goals for my hair and told me what I could expect from using the hair care line they use now. So I was pretty impressed to say the least. Charleen set my hair and told me that I was going to see an immediate change in my hair now that I've used their new organic line (I had a wash and set plus I decided to try the Herbal Treatment) She was so on point accurate! The texture of my hair was soft and full of body not to mention you could not even tell that I would soon need a perm either. From the moment my hair was getting washed to the moment I saw the beautiful final result; I knew I found a new home for my hair. There are so many wonderful things I could tell you but let me end by saying, you will love this salon and you will love your hair.

I made the switch to Evolution after being completely fed up with a former stylist and salon where I would wait for hours for service and, at times, hours just for the stylist to arrive. With Evolution, I have found the complete opposite - prompt, professional and top-rate service. Upon arrival I am always greeted warmly, treated as a guest and respected patron. Evolution employs knowledgable, professional stylists and only uses the best hair care products. Please note - with premium care comes premium pricing. Evolution is no exception, but they do they're best to give you your money's worth.

Pros: Full service, professional

Cons: Scheduling can be tough at times

Natasha Paul (Owner & Stylist) of Evolution has been caring for my hair well over 6 years. Her salon is a refreshing change from the passé. The staff is phenomenal and welcome you with open arms every visit. Every care is given to you from the moment you step into the salon - tea service, hors d 'oeuvres, consultations on service and fabulous end products. Specialty hair and nail treatments ensure that you have gone thru an "Evolution" by the time you depart. I have been to many salons but it took me years to find a person who is not satisfied with the norm and consistently lives up to and exceeds the standard in hair care - Natasha and the staff at Evolution does just that.

I've been to a few salons in the area since moving to Brooklyn from Manhattan and can say I've finally found the spot! Evolution has a warm, welcoming feel, but even better, the stylists are all friendly, professional, and know how to texturize hair. Naidra, my stylist, asked me about my current hair routine, as well as products, and walked me through every single process throughout the way. The service and quality at Evolution is excellent. I highly recommend this salon and have already booked my next appointment!

I recently went to evolution on a recommendation i recieved from a friend. I marveled at the precise haircut and finish she recieved from her stylist naydra. When i walked into the salon i was comforted by the warm and friendly greeting. The atmosphere is unlike any other salon and the staff is very knowledgeable. From the moment i sat down for my consultation with naydra i felt like i found new stylist. Her years of experience were comforting. She explained every step of the process i was about to recieve and took total control of my hair with ease. I am very satisfied with my hair and highly reccomend evolution. Finally i have found a new stylist and salon i can call home

I was walking around last week when I stumbled onto this place. My hair was going crazy so I decided to checkout Evolution to get get a haircut. The people in there were soooo nice! I immediately felt comfortable with my decision and when they were done I felt like a new man! I absolutely love my new haircut and this place has definitely made a fan for life!
