I love this shop! The owner is very friendly and really knows her product. I've bought 4 pairs of shoes (boots, heels, sandals, & flats), a few pieces of jewelry for myself and as gifts, and a wallet that I carry all the time and am constantly recieving compliments on! There is a great selection- tons of shoes, bags, and jewelry and a wide range of prices. My faves - the initial necklaces, the brass-toed flats, and the fun bright colored leather totes- which are really reasonably priced and great for summer! For a small shop, she fits in a ton of great stuff - and it is worth going to every few weeks as I always find something new each time I stop by!

Pros: unique items, great selection,

Cons: none

I went into Clarabella for the first time a few weeks ago, only to be greeted by the most friendly boutique owner ever. Upon first glance it seemed like a typical boutique until I had spent more time there. I personally bought my share of amazing things: jewelry, shoes, handbags. In fact I bought a beautiful pair of Green heels with a classic wooden heel, priced at $140 bucks, without the discount (as she is currently having a phenomenal sale). I also bought a vegan handbag which looks incredibly realistic for less than a hundred bucks. Add a great pair of pewter toned earrings for $34, and I was over the moon. One of the best shopping experiences I have had in New York City.

Pros: Great Owner, Variety

Cons: None to speak of

I had read great reviews of Clarabella on Citysearch, but after trudging twenty blocks to find it, I was sorely disappointed. I'm writing this review to keep other budget-minded folks from making the same mistake. The store is small, and whoever said that the jewelry selection is "amazingly large" must have been crazy. There were probably 100 pieces of jewelry in the whole store, which were all $100 and up, but there's hardly anything to them--simple silver things. That's not to say they weren't beautiful, but not worth that price. The shoes, too, were gorgeous, but the selection was sparse--not to mention the prices, which started at about $400. A simple wallet, hand sewn cotton, was $75--no thanks, I'll have my grandmother make me one. I asked about a price on two pieces (I didn't want to look cheap) and she couldn't find the prices, so she took my number and said she'd call me back... my phone never rang, but honestly that's okay with me, as I won't be back. This might be a great store for people with plenty of money to spend, but in my opinion the stuff inside just isn't worth the price.

Pros: Pretty Items, Helpful Staff

Cons: Overpriced, Sparse selection

I wandered into Clarabella's the other day as I was looking for some birthday and christmas presents. Trying to get my shopping done early! This little shop was just perfect!! Shoes, bags, jewelry!! I can take care of half my gifts at this store. and of course some presents for me :) The owner is really nice and she didn't push me to get anything and i walked out knowing that i just had to come back!! A must visit for anyone looking for unique and not department store merchandise.

Pros: Awesome jewelry and bags

Cons: none!

This small yet beautifully decorated boutique is a ground breaking sophisticated shop that is going to pave the way for a new era in the lower east side. Clarabella is already outclassing its predecessors and paving the way for an upwardly mobile neighborhood. Erin, the shopowner provides classy yet down-to-earth service to her clients while making very interesting choices on all of her pieces. There is an eclectic mix where funk meets classic. Your funky self could grab some franks at Katz's deli with your mom, walk a couple of blocks east, go into Clarabella and get something for the both of you! Erin also has a great sense of how to utilize space and how to decorate! Definitely worth the trip downtown!!!

Pros: Great ambience, eclectic choices, great decor

The Extras

If you are looking for a way to give back to the world, buy a bottle of Charity water up front. This NYC-based organization takes the $20 you spend on a bottle of water and puts all of it toward creating wells in underdeveloped countries that don't have access to clean drinking water.
