Great spot gone bad
by local456
We got a group of people together last week to go to our favorite summer spot. When we got there none of the old bartenders were there, who we loved! We waited almost 15 minutes for a glass of wine and the guy bartending had no idea what wines were in stock, let alone how to serve in an efficient manner. We loved the addition of the grill but the bar does not even look the same (very unorganized) and all the personality of our favorite summertime bar is gone, with no friendly bartenders greeting us, terrible service, and the ambiance just not the same. We will miss you guys, we used to love it!
Best Milkshakes and Grilled Cheese, EVER!
by scatone
Wow, what an amazing place. The food was awesome, but the view of the United Nations building and the outside seating is beautiful. This place is a diamond in the NYC sand. We look forward to coming back for the nighlty live music and cocktails, such a nice place.
- Pros: Milkshakes, Food, Seating
Bad coffee
by claveriag
I had the worst macchiato here ever. Guess I should have stuck to the shakes. I'd try those next time and skip the coffee.
- Pros: Outdoor seating on the plaza.
- Cons: Bad coffee. A bit touristy since it's near the UN.
Hidden treasure
by batgirl13
When I discovered this place a few nights ao it really did feel like a hidden treasure. I was with a group of friends and we were all craving a chill place to get a drink outside, and wanted to avoid the cheesy rooftop bars in the area. We were so pleasantly surprised to find New York Milkshake company and the park area they occupy. Not only did they have some cool, original drinks, but their prices were totally reasonable (especially for their Happy Hour). It was perfect for a large group, as they had lots of room and lots of tables. Also both our waitress and the bartenders who work there were cool, with no attitude. And an added bonus was the pretty fountatin next to us made it feel like we were in some European city. Overall it was just a fun, chill environment that's seems very unique for Manhttan.
- Pros: A unique, outdoor bar in Manhattan that's great for groups
- Cons: A little hard to find

Turtle Bay shop has been highly recommended by the Food Network and NYT for their milkshakes and grilled cheese sandwiches.
