I look for any excuse to eat here. Great to take out of town guests. The chef is so creative with his dishes and very friendly and loves to explain his dishes and chat about them. The other staff members are just as helpful and friendly. The food is always amazing and I always look forward to the menu changes or additions.

Graffiti is not a restaurant for people expecting the same old dining experience. Rather it is a full experience for those seeking an adventure. My wife and I were honeymooning in New York and looking for a nice dinner away from the ordinary. After stumbling upon a review on this site, we made our reservations. Upon arrival the restaurant appeared small, yet the size added to the atmosphere of this quaint establishment. The dishes are small, meant to be shared by several, thus creating a full community dinner. The food was unusual to say the least and as interesting as food can be to say the most. The dumplings were full of sweet and spicy tang. The watermelon feta salad is definitely one of the most interesting things I've ever put into my mouth, but does not disappoint. Overall, this restaurant has a great atmosphere and terriffic food all delivered with the most friendly service anyone could offer. If you are looking for a dinner that you would never imagine, this is the place.

Such a small cozy place, with a delicious and welcoming menu to match. The service from the time I made the reservation to the time we paid the bill was nothing but stellar. The owner gave us complete descriptions of everything we ordered and we wound up ordering plate after plate! Great wine selection too! Small dishes are great for sharing, but the tables...not so much. I went with my parents and was a little apprehensive about having to explain to them we may have to share a (very small) table with strangers. Fortunately we didn't have to. BUT if you go with 4 people, you can claim your own table.

Pros: Everything: food, wine, location, service

Cons: VERY communal seating

The chef/owner is amazing, incredible and one of the sweetest people ever. He personally recommended wine and brought all of the dishes to the table and explained their origins and preparation. The dishes were creative, beautiful, and most importantly so tasty. Our favorites were the green mango paneer and the pork bun. It is VERY small so if you are claustrophobic it might not be right for you but it has a young hip crowd and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. It was better than some of the over-hyped tapas restaurants I have been to. GO GO GO!

There is really no other restaurant quite like Graffiti. There is no question that it is small, but those who complain about this are, to some degree, missing the point. In a large, overwhelming city, Graffiti is like a cozy oasis from all of the chaos outside. There is a difference between cramped and intimate, and given the small space the restaurant does a good job tending toward the latter. And the service really can't be beat: chef Mehta himself brings most of the food to each table, describing in detail each component of the plate. Moreover, dishes are typically served one or two at a time so that you can share everything and enjoy a long meal. The food is adventurous and quite unique (I'd never had an anchovy tamarind and seaweed pizza before). For me the small dishes are the real highlights, and I'd recommend the green mango paneer, the cheese flat bread, the chili pork dumplings, and the pickled ginger scallops. And if you're feeling a little cramped, have a glass of wine -- which is always eight dollars, no matter what bottle it comes from -- and forget about it.

Pros: very unique cuisine and high level of service

Cons: do not go if you are looking for a quiet, private dinner

Inspired by good reviews, my wife and I went there for a nice anniversary dinner, but obviously they value getting as many people into the cramped space more than the comfort of their customers. This is not an exaggeration when I say that when they showed us to our "table" it turned out to be a small bench with two small stools set up on one side of it, not two inches from the open kitchen door. A bench not wide enough for a plate, nor long enough for a plate and two glasses. With the other tables in the restaurant set up high with tall chairs, we were too aware of the fact that we had been sat at the kiddies table. A table which was an after thought once they garnered good reviews. To add insult to injury, our polite request for a better table, which we offered to wait for, was met with an offer to get our coats for us. No food is worth putting up with such service or discomfort. We will not be going back.

I have been to a good amount of restaurants in this city and i have to say that graffiti blew me away. Everything from the tiny space to the excellent service i couldnt have had a better night. Went to Graffiti with 4 other girls for a night out and we were all treated so well and seated right away. The server and owner were there to help and converse with you..not to mention serve you some of the best wine ive had. The food was out of this world and very different. Not only was the wait staff friendly but they really wanted to you to have a good grasp on why they paired what they did on your plate so you get a full understanding for what you are eating and the flavors you will taste. I would highly recommend this place not only for the good food but also how impressive it is that there are 2 people in this tiny kitchen which you can walk past on your way to the restroom whipping up some fantastic food..cant forget to mention dessert was wonderful too. You must check this place out.

Pros: ambience, service, food food food

Cons: its a tight space but oh so cozy and comfortable.

I stopped by Graffiti last weekend with a couple of colleagues for an early Sunday dinner. We walked in at an awkward moment - right as a large party was going through speeches - but we were sat at a table near the window right away. Having no idea what the cuisine or theme of the place was, we had lots of questions and our waiter was there to answer them all! As we were eating, another group was seated at our table, but it really didn't pose any disturbance on us. If anything, I enjoyed the fact that I was able to see the dishes they had ordered. As for the food, it was one of those meals that won't be remembered as the most filling, but one of the most memorable! Hot, cold, spicy, mild and much more are thoughts that go through your head. The mix of flavors is fascinating and delicious! Definitely not a place for the unadventurous eater. I highly recommend this place and advise those who want to have a food experience - but be sure to leave your picky eating friends at home. Perhaps not the best place for a first date or intimate dinner though...

Let me first say I have never written a restaurant review. But I had to at least say something about this place. I have never before had a nicer, tastier eating experience. The pairings of flavors was incredible, and after trying almost the entire menu in a decadent 2 hour, 3 bottles of wine sitting, I speak from experience. It is a bit weird sharing the table with a different couple, but the owner said that the only way he could make ends meet in such a small space was to keep literally ever seat full. I can't disagree with him for that as I want to make sure this place stays open.

Pros: Great food, incredibly nice service

This place was absolutely adorable! Food was fantastic and the service was awesome. It's very small and very homey. I only have one complaint, but it's a big one. I had a reservation for 2. There are only 4 tables, 2 were empty, and they sat us with another couple that was already there at a four top! I'm assuming it's because the place is so small. I don't know if this has ever happend to anyone else but we thought it was quite strange, as did the couple who they sat us with. My date asked if we could be moved to one of the empty tables, which we were but they gave us a whole story about how someone might be joining us later on anyway. HUGE lack of privacy. I loved the experience but there was another couple that sat with us just as we were finishing up. I made this reservation with plans to have a very intimate dinner alone with my date and this concept of sharing a table with strangers kind of ruined that for me. It's a bit of a shame because everything else was PERFECT! Just note: don't expect a private table unless you are with 3-4 people.

Pros: EVERYTHING! except for....

Cons: Lack of privacy!
