Used to be Better
by jonrobbins
Me and my friends have been going here on and off for a while late night on Saturdays. The music there is really good on this night but we can't hear it! For the past month or so it has been really quiet. I asked the little manager with the tie the last time we were there and he said that that's as loud as it goes because of noise complaints. Oh well. Hopefully they will figure out a way to turn it up or there's really no point in going there anymore. It's really one of the only places in soho that has good music, and I have a few events coming up so im gonna have to schedule them elsewhere...
- Pros: Great Music
- Cons: Can't Hear the Great Music!

If you want to go for a game , this is a great place to go
While the menu is limited and the service is poor , I recommend you go anyway
Came for the game stayed for the bartenders
by NYDoll212
Some friends of mine met up at this sports bar/lounge for the NFL playoffs and had such a great time with the bartender we stayed all night and had a blast! This guy was amazing, I think his name was Lee, he chatted us up during the game and then he was a drink making machine when it got busy around midnight. He was everybody's best friend that night, the girls loved him because he was funny and the guys loved him because he talked sports with them. We had such a great time with him that the Monday following the weekend everybody at work was talking about hosting a Super Bowl party there. The crowd was great too. People were really into the game and then when the DJ started everybody was dancing. Firefly is definitely my new favorite bar in SoHo and Lee is my new favorite bartender in NYC!
- Pros: Great bartenders and crowd
- Cons: No coat check
Awful Experience
by GramercyGirl76
I attended a party here on a Saturday night and had an awful experience. The bartenders are stingy and don't have any personality. If you're sitting at a table that is unoccupied (as most tables were at the establishment) the waitress will tell you to get up if you're not ordering drinks. I went outside and 20 seconds later I had to go back in to retrieve a friend only to have the bouncer make me redisplay my ID b/c he didn't remember me even though I was standing in front of him the whole time. There are plenty of awesome places in soho, I would suggest trying any one of them over Firefly.
The Firefly is just ok.

I first came to this Soho spot earlier this year and fell in love with the Irish bartender on a Wednesday night. This place was pretty slow at 3am on a Wednesday but I was assured by the bartender to come back on a Saturday when its busy. So I did and I had a great time. My friends and I quickly became regulars on the weekend nights to dance all night long to a pretty fun DJ and the weekday nights to hang out with our favorite bartender in New York City. The place itself seems very confused as to what its trying to be. A club or a sports bar? The food is a little awful at this joint so you're better off picking up a slice of pizza across the street. Sadly I spent my summer in LA and returned to find out that my favorite bartender had moved on. Infact most of the staff have moved on which is never good. They have a high turnover at this place. I would only go to the firefly if I was in Soho on a Saturday night and didn't want to pay a cover charge. There is so many better places around. I live on spring street and the Spring lounge is my new spot. The Firefly will never be the same for me without Rob Murphy.
- Pros: my favorite bartender in the city used to work here.
- Cons: my favorite bartender in the city used to work here.
Was Feelin it on a Friday Night!
by NYLife
My friends and I dropped in one Friday Night when Gatsbys (across the street) was a bit on the packed side. So we decided to check out what was happening at Firefly. Pleasantly surprised!!! There was just as much btay shakin fun music as across the street. DJ played a diversified and upbeat mix of mainstream to house to a bit of hip to hop to and even a touch of Dancehall that kept me and others there that night from general posing. Everyone seemed to be having a ball, open and festive... oh yeah and attractive. Albeit, it could have been the cutie bartender that I kept requesting her attention to pour me anotha!!! This could have contributed =D. Was fun that night. I'm going back!
- Pros: Cutie Barender & DJ
- Cons: No Disco Ball-Kidding!
Great Specials
by karen5246
For a long time I have just walked by this place on my way to another bar. On game nights there is always a good buzz coming out thru the doors, So we eventually decided to stop in see what all the fuss was about. We went on Tuesday night to watch the All star game and there was a good no of people there, our server was really nice and polite, I think her name Anzhela!? The screens are awesome, ever inch of the place seemed to be covered! The menu was standard New York I think, but we had just eaten so we didnt try anything, but we'll be back! Oh and they have drink specials all night!
- Pros: Drink Specials late night
over done

I went in with a friend who lives in the neighborhood for a beer because it was new. The bartender was more interested in talking to the hottie waitresses coming on for the night shift than getting us a beer. The whole place reeks of pretention, from the cushioned bar seats to the blue wall paper, to the servers' attitude. Maybe it gets good late, but as a sports bar, it is lame.
Avoid this place

Go to another bar, plenty of places with TV's! Most of the employees seem unhappy, which is reflected in the experience! On the night I was in, the bartender told me that they actually fill the "top shelf", bottles with off label products, inexcuseable! The food is standard bar fair, again overpriced for what they serve...
- Pros: none
cool celeb sighting!!
by nycpartygirrrl
I was at Firefly last night and saw Jared Leto hanging with a friend at bar!! A couple people approached him and he seemed really cool and nice. It might be a celeb hangout, I heard John Mayer hangs out there too!!
- Pros: always fun, great staff, celeb sightings!!
