Could not believe that when I brought my dog in for grooming I found that carol the groomer was working at Soho now. Carol is by far the best groomer in the city. She has been grooming show dogs for almost 30 years and her reputation is well known. I have a terrier which requires stripping and when I left that store, I could have gone straight to the runway with him and he would have taken first prize. That is how amazing he looked. And he was having fun with the people at the front desk when I came to get him-he was not in a cage. She had a cocker spaniel on the table when I got there (they have the grooming in the front window so you can always see what they are doing) and was giving him the cutest cut I ever saw. i had heard about Carol through the years but never had the opportunity to have my dog groomed by her. I cannot even say how happy and satisfied I was (the price was very reasonable too!) and if you have the chance to take your dog there for grooming, definitely ask for her . (I think she is at their chelsea store one day a week too so if you don't live downtown, you can find her up there.)
Pros: thumbs up big time....show quality grooming with a master groomer at a fair price.

Incredible place-Incredible people....they called me to tell me my dog had an upset stomach the first day she was there. Then they called a day or two later to tell me she was relaxed and her stomach was back to normal. I called to check on her several times in the 10 days i was gone. They all knew her, told me what was going on with her. Never saw a group of people so on top of everything and SO nice. Had a great vacation and next time I wouldn't even bother to call them while she's there because I know they know what's going on. Had a 6pm pickup time because my dog was groomed (by the way, fabulous grooming job) but i got back early at 5. My dog was just about done because they like them to have time after the grooming to relax and relieve themselves before pickup. My cat was hanging out in the cat room-not in a cage but on a big cat condo. She was sprawled out like the princess she is and didn't even care that i was back to get her. This was a very positive experience for them and for me. would highly recommend.
Pros: everything good
Cons: zero

Last time i went on vacation left my doggie at a pet spa in the pelham area of the Bronx where i live. It was a disaster. This time i researched all the options and called every place in the city. The one that stood out was Paws in Soho. They were so nice and it sounded like the best choice so i gave them a try in february when i went away. My dog had a great time. She was happy and waggly when i picked her up. I kept trying to get her leash on and she kept running back up the ramp to go back to her friends. She is diabetic and gets insulin shots twice a day and i knew she hadn't missed any. They brought up her remaining insulin and needles and they called me the first day to let me know she was eating well and getting her shots so i wouldn't worry. (That did not happen in the other place i had left her.) Staff was amazing, friendly and she was kissing them more than me! Will definitely use them again when i go away in April. It is worth the trip from the Bronx and the extra time it takes me to get there. I wouldn't trust anyone else with her.
Pros: knowledgable, fun, caring staff
Cons: there were none

Research this place thoroughly as u should ANY establishment that u decide to trust your baby with. I left my dog here while on vacation and came back to a very sick dog :( She had a fever and a horrible and painful sounding cough. I'm very upset that i was NOT notified of her condition... Not even when i picked her up which led me to believe that they were not taking care of her properly and didn't even notice that she is very ill. The next morning i took her to the vet to find out she also had contracted earmites! The staff is very nice and good with the animals but need to be more on top of it and make sure all the animals are healthy and warm. Needless to say i would not leave my precious pup here ever again.

I went for the first time over Thanksgiving. The chelsea location was already booked so I went to the Soho location. Had never been to either. I was really surprised at how clean and beautiful this place is. The staff was friendly and really paid attention. My dog is on medication. They had me explain the instructions, then entered instructions in the computer, entered it on a medicine list at the front desk and then made another copy for the people downstairs who would be dispensing the meds so there is no way my dog is not getting her correct dosage. The last place I went they took the bag with the bottles of pills, threw it in a pile with her leash and collar and said, have a nice day. Needless to say, I did not. When I got back to get her at Paws in Soho, even though there were alot of dogs there they knew exactly who she was, They told me stories about her activitities while I was away. The owner came in while I was there to pick her up. She too, knew everything that was going on with my dog. When they brought her up she was so happy and perky and looked so relaxed. I knew the second I saw her she had had a great time and had gotten all her meds. She said hi to me and then ran back up the ramp to go back inside! I have a reservation there for Christmas and this time feel so calm about leaving her.
Pros: Everything-really a good place
Cons: Can't think of any

have been going to the chelsea location for years for boarding my 2 cats and my dog. my dog also goes for occasional daycare and gets groomed. the new location in soho is much more convenient so i tried it and i have never been happier. my dog never wants to leave and my cats are totally relaxed there. the place is spotless and they have the same great staff, (half of them moved down to soho store), same great service. all the people there are really amazing. very friendly but at the same time on top of things. the groomers are great. really can't say enough good things about them. i was so proud of them when they won best of new york this year by new york magazine and i just want to say that there is a reason why they did. they really deserve it. they are the best.
Pros: all-love them.
Cons: none
