I am never one to write reviews, but I must for Stanley. I first went to him in April for a blow-out before a long vacation. He was able to squeeze in me in last minute for an appointment, and I really appreciated it. My curly hair came out so straight and fabulous that my fiancé did not even notice me at first in the airport. I went for my first cut over the weekend, and Stanley did a great job. He took my hair type into consideration and offered suggestions for everyday styling even though I got my hair blown out straight. I will definitely be going back for future haircuts. The salon itself it so warm and inviting.

This was my first visit to Stanley and it will definitely not be my last! Stanley took the time to talk to me about what my expectations were for highlights and what kind of style I would like and would suit me. I walked out looking like a million bucks and have gotten so many compliments since then! I would recommend to anyone looking to get a highlight and haircut!

As soon as I walk in I am greeted with a warm welcome and offered suggestions for a make-over that would change my self image and boost my confidence forever, all offered by Stanley and his staff. He was tastefully honest when criticizing my washed-out brassy hair color which according to him didn't even fit my skin tone. An hour and 30 minutes later, I flaunted a refreshed true hue that complemented all my features. I looked real, natural, and I loved that natural meant beautiful. Great Service. Great skills. What a treat!

Great Customer Service Recommend everyone to go there and get a good haircut . He does a excellent job with coloring. Salon Stanley is the talk of the town. You are treated with class.

Like a previous reviewer, I had been going to the same person for years, but needed someone new in the city. Stanley took the time to talk to me first to see how we could take what I wanted and make it the best possible style for my hair. It turned out great!

My first online review ever, Stanley inspired me to support his salon because of his service, attention to detail and talent. I had my hair cut and straightened 10 weeks ago and it still looks great ( a no-charge bangs trim about a month ago has been the only maintainence). The price was higher than I expected - 600$ for a cut and straightening (I have shoulder length, fine hair), but if it lasts the 10 months as promised it will be well worth it. I liked that Stanley insisted on a consult on a separate day before the appt - so you don't feel rushed that someone's waiting to shampoo you while you want to talk to the stylist. It also makes you feel like he's giving your hair some thought before he does anything. He'll always come to the phone or the door for a fast question, too. Very nice guy! I will go back to this salon and recommend it to my friends.

Pros: great service, personal attention

Stanley is great! I was worried at first b/c I was changing stylist since I just moved to the city. He's actually better than my original stylist. He knew what would look good on me...and ladies trust his taste! The appt. only took 1/2 hour, which wasn't bad. It was fun watching him cut and blowdry my hair! He's truly an artist!

Pros: Very nice guy, professional, loved my cut

Cons: Price was higher than my original stylist, but well worth it

I went into Salon Stanley after the fantastic reviews on Citysearch. I came in having to have some colour correction as the last salon I had been made my hair very brassy. Stanley did a great job correcting the problem, and I left the salon with gorgeous buttery blonde highlights. He listens to what you say, as opposed to doing what he wants and also has a friendly easy going personality. He also gave me a fantastic blowout and I was complimented all night long by family and friends. I highly recommend Salon Stanley and will definitely be going be back!

I just recently moved to the UES and visited Salon Stanley last week based on other Citysearch reviews. I was definitely not disappointed! I went in for a basic cut and was very impressed by Stanley's ideas. He gave my long thick hair a fresh modern cut, while still keeping the length. I will definitely be back!

After admiring a co-worker's hair style, I was referred to Salon Stanley. Not only did I get an appointment almost immediately (within 1-2 days of calling), I was amazed at the overall results. Stanley took my average looking "bob" cut and transformed it into the most flattering style I've ever had -- with just the right amount of all-over color and highlights. Upon returning to my apt. building, my own doorman didn't recognize me! My husband, friends and co-workers were blown away. Every time I've returned to Stanley, the results are the same -- he is always able to fit in the most last-minute appointment request...(most times within 24-48 hours of calling!...unheard of today) and always goes out of his way to make you feel special. Beyond the amazing personalized service (rare in this city), his technique is world-class -- he has a talent for knowing just what it takes to liven-up a "tired do", while always keeping the style true to my personality and lifestyle. My husband now goes to Stanley, and loves the cuts he gets (never one to comment about his own hair)... If you are looking for a high quality cut/color/highlight or need a new style, Salon Stanley is the best choice in NYC!
