Kids outgrow clothing very quickly; designer clothing is very expensive. These two facts seem irreconcilable, but when the designer is Marc Jacobs, it's easy to see why parents might give in to the urge to splurge on something junior will only wear for a year. The Little Marc line includes everything from pint-sized bomber jackets and chunky wool cardigans to flower print tops and cute anthropomorphic cat shoes complete with whiskers. The small West Village boutique carries clothing for babies up to 12 year-olds.

Hits: The Little Marc line is as attractive as Marc Jacobs' adult lines, meaning you might find yourself jealous of your own kid's clothes.

Misses: The staff is friendly and attentive, but might be too hip and young to make some parents comfortable with their advice on children's clothing.
