If in doubt go see Andrea!

After trying various hair salons in the 90's a freind recommended me to get a cut in a Concept salon by Andrea and I am so glad I did!

If you're one of those people who not really sure what cut works best for you Andrea will use his expertise and designer's eye to make the best of your hair. He will work with your hair texture, consider the season of the year, and also your life style. As most people in NY , I am busy and don't have time to spend in the morning with the hair dryer. I need "wash and go" cut and Andrea always accomodates that. His cuts are easy to maintain and he always adds a different twist to it. Over the years he took me from very long to short cuts and back. I enjoy being complimented on my hair ; )

awesome color

Andrea really is a master of color... People always stop me on the street and ask me if my color is natural and I say "no, I can thank Andrea for it:)" He has taken me over the years from highlights to every shade of red... and back to strawberry blonde. My hair is super healthy with all the color I do! You need a professional if you want it done right!!!

If you want great color (and cut)....Concept/Andrea is the best. His assistants are really good too!

Not so sanitary

I went to this salon twice and was pleased with the haircut and coloring I had. However, while I was there the second time, I saw things that really took me aback. First, they were reusing the robes that they give you to wear. As one person finished, they hung the robes up and then gave them to the next client. Second, they did not clean the floor after the previous haircut. Helio just brushed the hair off the chair, leaving the rest of the clippings were they were. Third, they did not clean the brushes. The brush he used on my hair was filled with hair from another customer. He took the hair off the brush with this hands, but never sanitized it. Despite the good haircut and color, I could not get passed the lack of proper hygiene. I ran back to my old salon (which is about 50% higher in cost) where such disgusting things would never happen.

• Cons: Not so sanitary

Fantastic !!!

I don't know what the last review was about... I go to get my fringe trimmed regularly at this salon in between cuts and it always looks great even when I change hairstyle.

TERRIBLE

I stopped in to get my bangs trimmed thinking it was something simple that you can't really mess up. I was wrong. I could have done better myself. Not only did he cut them too short, he messed up the shape too. When I said I didn't like it and asked him to fix the sides the guy told me I was wrong and that it looked fine. Rather than trying to fix it, he just kept drying them down to make them look longer. He made no attempt to make me happy, just kept telling me I was wrong. I left with chunky, uneven bangs and had to go else where to get it fixed. Will never go back. Awful. Just awful.

The most incerdible hair artist from Brazil !!!

I just had my hair done by JO in this small but cute no attitude salon near Bloomingdale's.

I was referred to Jo because I wanted to get my color done and the Brazilian Keratin Relaxer/treatment done at the same time.

Jo was truly an expert, she made me look like a billion dollar. I have already scheduled my next appointment for a Japanese deep treatment because I loove skiing and my hair gets really dry form being outdoor in dry air and she suggested that specific service. If you have dry curly hair like i have Jo is a must !!! Enjoy it.

Best Highlights, Haircuts and Service in the city!

I have been going to Concept Salon for five years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. My highlights always look healthy and natural and my haircuts are done exactly right. I always feel like I got my money's worth. At Concept Salon, they deal with all types of hair, curly, straight, long, short, men's, women's, etc. I am always amazed at how fabulous every single person looks when they leave the salon.

I recently lost my job, but I still wanted to get my hair done. When I went for my appointment they gave me 20% off! They said that during these hard economic times it is important that people look and feel good for interviews, so they are giving all clients who are out of work a discount. I go to Concept Salon for their expertise, but also for their unbelievable service and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants not just a good haircut, but a great salon experience.

The Best Salon Hands Down

Helio has been cutting, styling and coloring my hair for over 10 years...

Anyone and Everyone that knows me... will tell you i have the best HAIR EVER!!!

I can Thank Helio for keeping it that way... I've always wanted to keep Helio my own secret but, the cat is out of the bag!!! Nothing beats Helio Souza & the Concept Salon. Haircuts, Coloring, HI-Lites,, Low-Lites... even make up application.. You cant find anyone better in NYC... I swear!

The entire staff is amazing and i love them like my own family!

I even flew them down to my wedding in Bahamas! I wouldnt dare let anyone touch my hair for that special day but Helio and his team!

if i could give 10 starts , i would! They deserve it!

Best hair treatment

This is the best place in town for a hair cut and color. Helio de Souza and Andrea, are amazing stylists. They have a treatment for curse hair like mine with a product named Amazon, with guarana, and other stuffs from the Amazon, that transformed my hair. It was dry and frizzy, now is soft and healthy. Great place. I give 5 stars to Concept salon.

Hair

I've been a faithful customer of this salon for the past 14 years.

I believe that if you feel confident about your hair, you can get away with wearing just about anything....or nothing!

Andrea is amazing. The highest praise and recommendation that I can give, is that I tell my friends to go and see him, and trust him to do whatever he thinks appropriate with their hair. He's always right. An appointment with him is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Everyone at the salon is friendly and welcoming. It's a lovely, comfortable atmosphere. No snobbery here. That's why I keep going back!
