Best Thai in NYC

by bkratchtech at Citysearch

I'm a vegetarian working in the Flatiron District, so I'm always looking for something tasty to suit my dietary needs. I've been to Rohm many times and they never disappoint! Although I have never sat down to eat in the restaurant (I always stop by to order take out), it is always very clean. The atmosphere is very peaceful and serene, and the ladies who waitress there are very kind. The food is cooked quickly so you never have to wait long to eat. The portions are HUGE and always tasty! They offer a great variety of veg dishes, and I recommend the vegetable pad se eww. It's to die for!

I plan on going back every time I'm in the mood for Thai.

  • Pros: Vegetarian dishes, ambience, quick service
  • Cons: Some dishes are a little high in price

Amazing Pad Thai

by roahmed at Citysearch

Rohm is a decent-sized, dark Thai restaurant with very good food. As an appetizer I had the calamari, which was a very small portion, so make sure each person orders an order. As my entree I had the Rohm Pad Thai which I asked to make spicy, and it was just that. I usually don't like pad thai because it's always too salty, but this pad thai was amazing! For dessert I had fried bananas with red bean ice cream, which was delicious as well. The service was very good as well, and the manager was a sweetheart. Definitely go if you're in the neighborhood.

  • Pros: Great food, good service, cheap
  • Cons: None

Cozy Thai restaurant with many choices in the Flatiron/Chelsea area

by MadM at Citysearch

I am often in the Flatiron area for lunch and this along with Pongsri (on 23rd btween 6th and 7th) are the only two Thai restaurants that I am a regular patron to, the others I've tried and have been disappointed (esp. with "ThaiNYC" on 3rd Avenue next to Jaiya - that was the absolutely worse!).

If you're here for lunch, there are lots of lunch choices and they are very good. Generous portions and it also comes with soup or salad - the soup changes daily (not the usual tom yong gun). I've had the curries and also the fried rice here and I was pleasantly surprised. My friend ordered a duck fried rice - in which the duck was served over the fried rice (so the duck was nicely cooked, not pan fried along with the rice). There are good choices for vegetarians as they serve their meals with choices of vegetables& tofu, chicken beef, shrimp or duck. I've been here for dinner and I think it's okay as well. The portions are bigger at dinner but so are the prices. They have a small bar so alcohol is served - their wine selection is ok for a small restaurant.

  • Pros: Vast selection (authentic), offers brown rice as an alternative (not many Thai restaurants have this)

SO GOOD

by RGE000 at Citysearch

First. The ambiance is just amazing. The playlist is so smooth and flows perfectly with the lighting and overall feel of the place. I personally think the food is the best for its buck, and the service is quick and genuinely nice. Very homey environment and the thai iced tea with fried bananas and coconut ice cream make the perfect ending to my favorite chicken pad thai and massaman curry. A definite must go, and also perfect for a warm cozy date.

Super Affordable! Great Service! Beautiful Amosphere

by foodlover1229 at Citysearch

I've now been to Rohm Thai many times since they opened last winter. I have to say that this place is on my top list of restaurants and I eat here very often. Firstly, the food is extremely AFFORDABLE. Each time, I can easily spend less than $20 a meal and leave full and satisfied. Some of my favorites include their duck salad, barbecued chicken and their Thai iced tea is great too! Secondly, the service is superb. The wait staff is very attentive and are also very nice. The food comes out quickly and I never have to wait too long for a dish. Lastly, the decor is stunning! Rohm Thai has a very cozy, at home feeling and the waterfall upstairs gives off a very relaxing feeling. All in all, Rohm Thai is a place I think everyone needs to go to treat themselves to, it will be worth it!

  • Pros: affordable prices, beautiful decor, great food experience
  • Cons: could use more desserts

Great date spot

by kinglaz at Citysearch

Brought a date here; great music, comfortable space, and reasonably priced food for the area. the wine list is also acceptable, and they have a good selection of asian beer. though without the liquor license, the owner, who had seated us and introduced himself to us, told us they will have it soon. the music is also fantastic

GREAT MUSIC

by Knuckleheadkidd at Citysearch

I'm a hip hop and soul lover and this place played the best of it. The atmosphere is rustic, home feeling, and romantic. I went with my girlfriend and she loved it. The food is really reasonable and authentic. There is also an upstairs area with a waterfall and is great for private parties or bdays, which I'm definitely gonna do! Try the "Rohm" dishes. They are SO tasty. Can't wait to go again.

  • Pros: GREAT OVERALL
  • Cons: FAR FROM MY JOB/HOME

My new favorite Thai restaurant!!

by mcm266 at Citysearch

I went to the movies in Union Square last weekend with a couple of girlfriends and we found Rohm just a few blocks away. It ended up being the perfect find!! The food was incredible!! (and very reasonably priced!!) I would definitely recommend the tofu pad thai - there were a lot of fresh vegetables which I loved and feel are usually missing when I order the same thing at other Thai restaurants. The atmosphere was the perfect blend between cozy and chic - it felt like a little hideaway from the city. It was the perfect place for a girls night out - but I also think it would make a great date night. I will definitely be back again soon!! (P.S. the bathrooms are actually really cool too - there is a waterfall in one of them!!)

  • Pros: Food, Ambience, and Value
  • Cons: Parking

Superb, Reasonable Thai!

by sms317 at Citysearch

Eating at Rohm was an incredible experience! The atmosphere is cozy yet chic, the food is authentic and amazing, and the service was really attentive. A great date place. Definitely order the pad see ew and the green curry - absolutely delicious! It is so nice to have a reasonable place in this neighborhood - dinner for two of us was less than $50 with dessert and drinks. Loved it so much we ordered in last night and delivery was super quick.

  • Pros: Ambience, Value, Service
  • Cons: Need more dessert options!

Best Thai In Manhattan!

by montaguep at Citysearch

So, I randomly took my friend here for dinner here the other night. First, the setting is amazing. Aesthetically stunning, while comfortable and nonchalant. Second, the service was perfect. I felt completely welcome and they were accomodating to both me and my friend. Third, and most important, the food was so incredible. I have been dying to find a great thai place in the city that is reasonably priced and consistently good. They recommended an amazing green curry without the coconut milk (never tried before) and it was out of this world. A total gem of a place with a huge, affordable menu. Highly recommended!

  • Pros: Amazing food, friendly, great ambiance
  • Cons: Average music,
