best bachelorette / birthday spa party
by lorettac
After carefully reading reviews and screening some spas we decided to opt for this one . My friend was turning 40 and getting married so we decided to make it a whole spa day ! We not only received the best possible service but the atmosphere of the spa was simply superb. Not one detail was left aside at this place . I usually find it hard to relax and I caught myself falling asleep at some point. The technicians were perfectly skilled , able to answer any question regarding treatments and results . We all received the best spa experience ever and I couldn't leave without writing a well-deserved review. Thank you again for making her day so special !!
- Pros: unbelievably skilled staff

Best place for deep tissue massage
by lanouben
"I stop by this spa while i was shopping in Soho and to my surprise i received the best Deep-tissue massage i have ever got... super friendly staff ( but that's not enough to impress me) the massage itself was just perfect. My therapist erased all the knots I had on my back and in my calves and 2 days later i felt like a new person ! Also i really liked the heated mattress and the music was great !! i would definitely recommend this spa and im looking forward to my next visit there!"
PS: the therapist was indeed very strong and deep tissue i receive. if you are looking for just a classic rub down with no pressure, this isn't the place. They do take massage seriously and to a therapeutic level
- Pros: Best at deep tissue
- Cons: N/A
ahhhhhhhhh!

I had a massage, ...a wonderful beating really! A wonderful, productive, stimulating, relaxing bamboo massage! Fabian, the owner, was simply amazing! He made sure I was taken care of. He was patient, explaining all the treatments, working with me to discover exactly what I needed. It was bliss! Very professional, top notch spa! The actual space is beautiful too! I need to hire whoever it was that designed that space!! LOL! doubt that I could afford it though! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!
- Pros: The skilled massage therapists, The ambiance, the overall experience....
- Cons: NONE!
Awesome Deep Tissue Massage, Average for everything else
by ellezee
I had my first Deep Tissue massage at Iguazu which put me in Cloud 9 & relieved so much built-up stress in my body (it was well worth the pain!). The only thing was the massage table was not set up how i'm used to where you slip under the sheets (like a comfy bed) - its just a regular table w. a flat sheet or towel to lay on top of and then a small bath towel to cover you. I thought it was a little strange being that everything else was top of the line & the spa itself was a very beautiful & relaxing loft space. Maybe that's what they do for Deep Tissue? I also had a manicure & pedicure and was not too happy compared to other places I've gone to (and for a lot cheaper). The shower & Keihl's products are nice to use after. The overall experience was good.
One of the best day spa experiences ever.

I travel quite often and have had almost every service that one can imagine in almost every corner of the world. I stumbled onto this place from SpaFinders and was quite surprised when I arrived. The owner is very customer focused and a super nice guy. Its a little smaller than I had thought and at first, but it turned out that because it is a bit smaller, the service is more personal. Whoever works with you has time to talk to you and answer questions and give advice, something that is not always the case. My first visit I had a facial and was so impressed that me and my friend booked a massage for the next day. My friend was equally impressed. I am glad to see that a vast majority of the posts are positive and I scratch my head as to the two negative posts. I am 100% confident if you were not pleased the owner would have done near anything to please you. At the same time, some people are never pleased. I live in Chicago and get to NYC quite often and have visited after my first appointment and again have an appointment next week. One post had that the prices were a little expensive for the neighborhood. I think the prices are prolly about average for NYC prices, but I found that you get alot more and much better service than I have had at other NYC day spas. While I do like to try new things, I don't see myself changing spas anytime soon and I don't see myself coming to NYC and not visiting the spa. Oh, one other big plus...they do have very good specials from time to time. I would tell anyone who needs to spoil themselves or someone else or maybe just needs a little stress relief, check this place out....you will not be disappointed.
- Pros: small spa which gives you more personal attention
- Cons: i wish they had more wet facilities, but this is a very slight con (even if you could call it a con)
So Sad my gift certificate went to this
by vcantave
I received a coveted Spa Finder gift certificate for my wedding last year. I chose this location due to it's proximity to my job and figured I could get a fall pedicure (to slough off the calluses from past few months). I called ahead and set up an appointment for the Iguazu eucalyptus paraffin wrap pedicure 60 minutes for $68 including an acai berry foot scrub, eucalyptus and peppermint bath, regular pedi, paraffin dip and 30 minute foot massage. I was forewarned that there was a large party coming in from 11 - 1 so I should schedule for after that. So I made my appointment for 2.
I got there for 2:00 on the dot only to be told that I'd have to wait (seems the prior group had run over time). At 2:20 the woman began my pedicure on a very uncomfortable pedicure chair that was built into the wall and let off into a tiny sink. She was almost sheepish in her technique barely touching my feet. The calluses that I'd mentioned on the phone and again in person, she barely touched. She put some kind of tingly solution on them and told me that it would need to sit. ? an hour later at 3:05... she emerged to finish the pedicure. She scrubbed lightly on said calluses then rinsed me off to place me in the paraffin boots only to disappear again for another 20 minutes.
At one point MY technician peeked her head in to let another technician know that the woman she was working on was in a hurry. At that point (now 3:30) I announced that I too had to go back to work because I took my lunch hour to be there. She told me that I could come back after work for my massage and color since I worked in the area and that she?d be there till 8:00. I showed up at 6:45 and I waited until 7:00 when she showed up? announced that she?d only give me a 10 minute massage (mind you ? the package was supposed to be for 30 minutes) and applied my color and sat me to dry in a drying machine that she explained ?sometimes shut off on it?s own? and did about 10 times in as many minutes.
- Pros: The music was relaxing.
- Cons: Where can I begin? Everything from service to technique.

amazing massage!
by lindaley
I visited this spa last weekend ( i only live a couple of blocks away) and i was just giving it a try since i didnt previously hear about it. Being a regular spa goer and knowing what a great massage is , i must say that I was completely blown away by the quality of the massage i received at Iguazu spa . Not only the therapist had an amazing energy but his technique was absolutely flawless. The massages strokes were perfectly orchestrated and uninterrupted which made the massage amazing.
the place also had a real spa feel which added to my experience.
I have gone to numerous places in the city and i must tell you to receive a massage this great i would definitely travel. Luckily for me this place is around the corner from where I leave. I would definitely recommend any massage addicts to try it.
- Pros: best massage technique
Great service
by katedd
I thought it was a nice experience. It was a slow day, being a summer Saturday, so I received extra service and perks that I may not have otherwise gotten on a regualr day. I wish they had a nice locker room facility, though. They only have a bathroom for one upstairs, with sauna and steam shower in it. Also, the pedicure station has really uncomfortable benches. Not really supportive of a luxurious spa environment. All in all, I thought my spa specialist and the receptionish/manager worked hard to make it a relaxing time.
