Love the bar and the testing menu
by munchygirl1
I went with my concierge friend on a Monday night and the place was packed. We first went to the bar, which has a golden bronzish counter and we had Frech Perfection. It was an amazing drink and the bartender Joel gave the best service ever, becuase he was poised and subdue about his professional knowledge and skills. We sat a hour later and ordered the testing menu. The staff was excellent at timing, which I think is important for French style service. I loved the Languistine, the Mezze Platter, the Lamb, and the Sole Prawn. After the meal we could hardly walk, but all our taste palettes were definitely satisfied and impressed. I highly recommend Savarona if any of you has gotten sick over Thai or Greek food.
- Pros: Great food at reasonable price
- Cons: A bit out of the way, but it's worth the trip
the best Turish restaurant

SAVARONA is a fabulous restaurant. i was there with my family last night and this place made a great impression on us. the atmosphere is very warm. the staff of the restaurant is very professional: the waiters are really very fast and can recommend and tell everything you would like to know about Turkish cuisine. And finely the food - it rather unusual and so delicious that that we want to come back again and again.
- Pros: Great Food!! Great Service!! Amazing Atmosphere!!!
- Cons: Not open for lunch
Awesome sea bass

I live in 400 East 59th st and saw how this restaurant just opened up and was always enticed to check it out as I like to support the local restaurants and I always walk past it when I walk my dog. I went there with my wife and dad and we were all blown away by how tasty the food was. The executive chef came out to greet us, which was nice, but his english is no good so the conversation was nill. This place has potential to be a top 20 restaurant in the city and once Zagat rates it and probably gives it a great food review it will be hard to get a reservation.
- Pros: Fresh tasty fish
- Cons: Jill Zarin, the "real housewife of NY" lives in the same building
Not bad, not great
by huffenfuzzen
The service was friendly, but overwhelmed and confused most of the time- bringing food to wrong tables and taking a long time - maybe because they just opened. The decor was Turkish minimalist, and seemed somewhat unfinished, though there were great details here and there. It was a neighborhood crowd for the most part.
The food was really inconsistent, despite the promising menu. The marinated beef kebaab and shellfish dishes were both unique and amazing, but the duck and veal were overcooked and not very exciting. Maybe they'll iron out the kinks over time.
- Pros: some dishes, the refreshing airy decor,glass-tiled bathrooms
- Cons: disorganized service, some subpar dishes
