cozy

I've been to Buceo 4 or 5 times, and I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is cozy, and has a family feel to it, as does the service. The lamp chop is delicious, sangria is very good.
I've usually come here with groups of several people and we've always had a festive time with great food.
- Pros: food,ambiance

Great place
by Janet1075
My friend and I were meeting up for drinks and she favors wine, so I looked up wine bars and came across this one as part of a top 10. We met there at about 6 pm on a Thursday. The place had plenty of room but filled up as the night went on. The wine was great and so was the cheese. We sat there for about 4 hours and the service was impeccable. I definitely recommend it. Great for a date, drinks with friends, whatever.
- Pros: Great service, food and atmosphere
- Cons: None
Hidden Gem (or tapa)
by eaterysiwel
My sister and her boyfriend were in town and we happened to stumble on this place on citysearch. The food was great, the service was equally impressive. The owner happened to be there while we were eating and he walked around greeting the customers, making sure everything was perfect. Our waiter was wonderful, but actually forgot my sister's drink. However, when we reminded him about it, he went behind the bar, made it himself, and didn't charge us. They have an extensive wine list as well, which I took advantage of. The wines were unique and delicious. Try the paella and churrasco. Amazing dining experience and great food to top!
THE 'go-to' spot on the UWS
by sandydb
Comfortable, inviting ambiance, you feel immediately welcome at this jewel of a spot. Brick walls convey coziness as do the beautiful French doors that open to the street. Wonderful wine list for every taste level. Tapas are delicious and are the perfect portions to accompany the wines. Super friendly ambience due in large part to the fabulous owner who makes everyone feel like they are in her living room. So comfortable that before you know it, it's closing time. A MUST for anyone on the UWS or anywhere else in the city!
Newly discovered gem on UWS

As soon as we walked in we loved the coziness of Buceo. The owner made us feel welcome immediately. Great wine list by the glass or bottle and the food was excellent. The hours passed by in no time sitting at the bar talking to other people in the neighborhood. I'm definitely going back!!!
- Pros: wine, food ambience
Felt like a regular on our first visit
by Burlingtonbride
I was so thrilled to come across a great wine and tapas bar in walking distance from my apartment. My husband and I brought friends there to celebrate a birthday, sat at the bar, and were so well taken care of the entire evening. We never felt rushed - we enjoyed our drinks for almost 3 hours and the time flew. We went back almost a month later with different friends and the bar tender remembered us immediately. He made suggestions, let us taste a few things until we had just the right bottle. I look forward to going back again soon. I already feel like a regular.
- Pros: Great wine list and drinks, friendly service

This place was awful, overpriced, and empty- gone by september is my best guess... its a second rate location about 100 off the avenue

Great Bar, Great Atmosphere, Great Times
by y2jeffr
finally a great bar that you can take your girlfriend to, their wide selection of alcohol has something for all guys and girls, the atmosphere reminds me of the year I spend in Spain doing my internship, the tapas are your best bet for tapas like the ones in Spain, this is where my friend met his future wife... enough said
- Pros: Great Atmosphere for People who are low key and for those that are wild, Great Food, Great Wine
- Cons: Service can sometimes be a little slow, but thats what happens when the bar is full
Barcelona just off Broadway

Exactly what has been long overdue on the Upper West Side - a hangout that still encompasses the low-key and comfy vibe of the neighborhood but has the chic decor and forward-thinking cuisine of a downtown trendsetter. Spanish-inspired buffalo wings and proscuitto-wrapped asparagus were our table's favorite. The creative wine list an unexpected, welcome surprise. Though it just opened, be sure to make reservations for weekends. However, hanging out at the bustling bar is a fun way to pass the time too. Bravo, Buceo 95.
- Pros: Decor, wine list, service/management
