I'm a 38-year-old male, and 2 years ago started cosmetic facial fillers for the eye area. I tried and was very dissatisfied with Restylane, etc, then learned of Sculptra, and then of Dr. Frechette as one of *the* authorities on Sculptra in the U.S. I've had 1 Sculptra treatment thus far, and am pleased with my results in the month since. This review is about Dr. Frechette. Spoiler: it's going to be a glowing one. I have 4 criteria when assessing a doctor: apparent knowledge; bedside manner; efficiency of office staff, and of course results delivered. This practice ranked tops on every count (nearly :-) For my initial consult Dr. Frechette came across as knowledgeable, and informative and patient. While I'm prone to asking a lot of questions, I had all of them answered, and at no time did I feel rushed. My treatment experience couldn't have been better -- not because it was painless, but because as soon as I indicated discomfort the doctor took measures to alleviate it. At the end I said "I'm sorry I was such a baby!" and, to my surprise, Dr. Frechette remained grave. He said "No, you are not a baby; you are a patient, and a patient must be made to feel comfortable." Who knew! Including my initial consult I've been to Dr. Frechette's office 4 times, and only once did I need to wait (and that, it turned out, was because of a scheduling miscommunication). This is *such* a change from other offices which, in making patients wait, seem to presume the conceit that in a city of a thousand doctors the patient's time is less valuable than the doctor's! I very much appreciate the support staff for running a well oiled ship! Lastly, in the month since I've had Sculptra my results have been encouraging, and final results promise to far exceed those of Restylane, Juvaderm, etc. From having tried 3 other doctors for fillers I believe the doctor is the biggest arbiter of results, and for that reason you'll be glad to have gone with Dr. Frechette.

I am 55, HIV+ for 23 years. For many years my face had that sunken hollow look that says to everyone "yes, he's sick." In 2004 my dermatologist asked me to be a test subject - he was learning to inject Sculptra. I said yes. Big mistake. Do not go to any doctor unless injecting Sculptra is one of his specialties. I wasted a lot of good money in 2004 on that other doctor.This year I found Dr Frechette. My first visit with him - he explained the best course of action for me to take - "Rome wasn't built in a day" he said. And he was right. Dr Frechette knows exactly what he's doing. Photographs your face each time, studies your face while he's talking to you, then knows exactly where to inject.. Injections - any doctor can do - this Sculptra needs someone with an 'eye" to see what your face can be again. Dr Frechette expalins why he's concentrating on particular areas, and what the results should look like.Yesterday was my 5th visit. After the 3rd visit the results started to show. The office is beautiful, the staff - Paul explains everything and is so easy to talk with, and Kevin is very friendly and helpful. Juan, who massages the injection area after each visit ,takes care of you till you leave, and completely explains the massage regimen you should follow at home. Juan is excellent. The injection results speak for themselves - it's a gradual improvement, it gives you your confidence back. I still have a few visits to go. Dr. Frechette is the only doctor I would go to for this Sculptra.

I have been suffering from adult acne my whole life until I found Le Docteur! After my first laser facial my acne was reduced by 60%, I have had 3 treatments since then and my face looks incredible! My skin has never felt so soft and I have never had so many complements. The staff is very energetic and professionally trained. Paul answered all my questions about skin care and helped me choose facial products suitable for my skin. The office is extremely clean and the décor is amazing! If you’re looking for that beautiful look and want to go to a state of the art facility, Le Docteur is the place to go!!

Pros: Great location in Union Square!! Great Staff!!

In 2003, five years ago, I had severe facial lipoatrophy caused by HIV medications and I needed 6 Sculptra (at that time called New-Fill) treatments to fill the holes in my cheeks and temples. Since then all I've needed to maintain the good results I got are yearly touch-ups. My most recent yearly touchup was just last week. I've never had a problem with bruising, infections or lumps under the skin. I will continue to return to Dr. Frechette for yearly touch-ups as Sculptra continues to work well for me. The reason I have had such a good experience with this product is solely due to the skill of Dr. Frechette (Le Docteur). Sculptra stimulates the growth of new collagen in the skin, but it is very dependant upon which layer of the skin it is injected into. If it's injected too deep or too shallow the results will not last and lumps or bruising may occur. Dr. Frechette has been using this product since 2001 and done many thousands of treatments. He is a true artist when it comes to restoring and enhancing facial structures. The treatment session ends with a great facial massage from Juan to distribute the product and important instructions on how to continue the massages at home. I highly recommend Le Docteur and facial restoration with Sculptra.

It's not easy to make Laser Hair Removal anything close to an enjoyable experience, but somehow I left each of my treatments happier than when I came in. Technically, it's a non-invasive process (but depending what you're getting) things get a little personal, and everyone on the staff at Le Docteur has a knack for making each visit a completely comfortable and easy one. I have heard countless negative laser stories- everything from needing an excessive amount of treatments to see results or the process being really painful. I saw noticeable results after my first treatment, and over 50% of hair was gone for good after 3. After 6 sessions, I officially never have to go to the scary russian ladies at Bliss again! Convenient location, fabulous atmosphere, and the latest equipment all make for a positive experience. (worth going back to for your every vain whim!!)

Sculptra is absolutely the most effective and natural looking method for fixing facial lipoatrophy. I have tried almost every other filler; Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, etc. and none of them provide the amazing results of Scupltra. Two caveats – you MUST use a doctor who SPECIALIZES in Sculptra and don’t expect immediate results. Based on a trusted recommendation, I went to Dr. Frechette in NYC and I am extremely happy with the results. Dr. Frechette is a Sculptra expert, with extensive training both in France and the U.S. He not only knows the product clinically and how to obtain the best results, but he is an artist who knows exactly where to place the product so that the patient gets the results they desire. Most doctors injecting Sculptra do not know the correct way to inject it. People speak of having “lumps or bumps” from the product. I have been injected twice by Dr. Frechette and I do not have any bumps at all. What I do have is the face I had 15 years ago. You have to be patient with Sculptra. The results don’t happen overnight. The changes are gradual and take place over the course of a couple of months. If you have hollow cheeks, lines and a slack, tired looking face Sculptra, done correctly, will solve these issues. Once I complete the Sculptra course of treatment, I am going to have the Affirm Laser finish the job. So glad I found this fabulous practice - the doctor and all of his staff are wonderful.

Pros: Immaculate, beautiful facility. Skilled, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Parking lot around the corner.

Cons: It's NYC so the parking is expensive (that's no surprise) and anyway, the doctor is worth it!

I came here for laser hair removal on the recommendation of a friend but was still extremely nervous! Not only was I looking to have pretty sensitive areas treated, but I had this awful fear of a nail salon with a "laser in back" sorta thing. Well, as soon as the elevators opened into the reception area I was immediately put at ease. The space is really amazing and the staff super friendly and professional from start to finish. Everything I saw along the way, from the equipment to the decor to the demeanor of the staff really said to me that the person in charge wanted to spare no expense in making this a top of the line med spa...every detail! When it came time for the treatment, I had (almost) no reluctance to drop my drawers and speak with the staff about where I was looking to have hair removed...I even surprised myself! I think its because it had just enough of that sterile, no nonsense doctors office feel to make me feel comfortable and safe. But as I left, I really felt like I had been pampered...like I had done something REALLY great for myself...like a great massage or facial. Not to mention the staff member who I worked with knew just how to keep a pleasant conversation going (but also when to pause that conversation at more sensitive times!) so that I honestly couldn't believe how comfortable I felt, considering the circumstances. I've sent about a half dozen friends here since my first (of 4 or 5) treatments I began last October, and everyone has had similar experiences. If you're not looking for the best, maybe you should try "Kim's Nails w/ Laser in Back!" BUT if you want the best Laser Medical Spa (SO many different types of treatments!) in Manhattan then you have to check out Le Docteur! Best of luck!

The elevator opens to their own floor and you find yourself in this AMAZING enormous rotunda with the most sophisticated lighting I've ever seen in a physician's office. Then the service and treatments exceed the glamorous surroundings! Serious "Wow" factors all around you! I thought it was strange that I was filling out a medical history before laser hair removal and a facial with a peel but when I met Dr. Frechette, he explained everything to me. This is the reason you should only have certain procedures at physician's office. The doctor explained to me that there are dozens of medications you could be on or other circumstances that would make you extra sensitive to light and then you may not be a candidate for it. He made me feel extremely comfortable, answered all my questions and introduced me to my laser specialist Mimi and my aesthetician Agnes. Agnes actually assisted Mimi and not only was the experience comfortable, it was FUN!!! These women are serious and professional but they also made me feel special. Next was my facial/peel. Extractions are always a bit painful but Agnes' touch was the best. They use a product line only available in a doctor's office called Results Rx and I have to admit, I've had loads of facials but this was my first peel experience and I loved it. Agnes explained to me why these products are unique and the science behind them. It was too much to take in (beyond the "all natural and no preservatives, etc.") but I could tell she knew what she was talking about. I can't wait for my next appointment. I would recommend this place to everyone. Go Le Docteur!

I am a 45 year old actor/model in New York City. I wanted to freshen up my look, I was getting sent out on jobs for guys my age and older! I saw the ad for Le Docteur here on City Search and went in for a consult. They were great, friendly yet very professional. The facility is beautiful an everything is State Of the Art. I told them what I wanted to achieve and they recommended the Affirm Lazer. We began treatments 6 months ago and I am overjoyed by the results!! I actually look 10 to 15 years younger!! I am being sent out on jobs now for guys in their 20's and 30's! It is gradual rebuilding of your own collegen so I just looked like I was getting younge over a six month period! No down time and the there is almost no pain during the procedeure. I also use their skin products and they are amazing too! My pores got smaller!! I love that I didn't look drastically different , it just looked like I was magically getting younger over a 6 month period...my freinds and agents are Blown away. Do it, if you want to look younger and fresher,it is worth every penny spent!

Pros: The results I got where beyond what I expected!

Cons: One day of redness, like a mild sunburn

Le Docteur is a gorgeous clinic, spacious and aesthetically calming and serene, every step of the way you are treated with respect and concern to make you feel and look better,heart, body and soul. You are considered with privacy and everyone is a VIP. What a Godsend. It really is all about the specialist and how they use this technology. My Affirm laser specialist actually has New York Plastic Surgeons coming to watch him during his procedures as he has gets outstanding results. In ONE treatment the heavy wrinkles round my eyes and especially on my cheeks near my nasal labial folds were completely filled out and over half of all wrinkles GONE in one session. I have just had my second session yesterday and it looks like I have virtually no wrinkles left this time. The Affirm laser treatment is tightening my sunken cheeks and heavy nasal labial folds, firming my lip line, there is a new volume and elasticity to my skin that simply had disappeared. Dr Frechette advised me that the Affirm laser would be more beneficial overall in my case and then I could add Scultra as the finishing touch.. I have had just two treatments and I can't believe that I look about ten years, hmm, maybe 15 years younger already! I am overjoyed and so impressed with the techniques applied. My specialist, Paul Freistuhler is the King of this field, he even had the treatment himself to know what his patients are experiencing and understands the sensitivity you might feel and keeps you so cool with the air blasting on your face. There is minimal discomfort and the results are quite incredible. Drink plenty of water going through it as you must be well hydrated. I didn't hold the redness for too long. I had deep wrinkle grooves in my neck that have almost disappeared. They were very red last night after treatment and now almost normal, My face is still pink today but will be fine by tomorrow. I am overjoyed. Thanks to Paul, Dr Frechette, Kevin, Juan and the rest of the talented crew!
