Power to the people! Store owner, designer and pop singer-songwriter Hillary Flowers has set up a collective for around 20 designers to sell their wares on their terms--meaning complete control over their inventory and selling price in exchange for working at the store twice a month. The result? An experimental and eccentric collection ranging from cocktail dresses and floral print tops to reworked vintage and embroidered hoodies. The narrow, laid-back boutique is also a great place to find unique jewelry and handbags.

Hits: Designers don't have to pay high fees to display their clothing or accessories here, so they end up taking more risks with edgier fashions.

Misses: The small, cluttered space makes it hard to move around if someone else is shopping at the same time.
