Moishe’s movers are the worst!!!!!!!!!

I overpaid and had a horrible experience. The movers got into a fist fight with our elevator guy who is 50 years old over the protection that the movers were supposed to bring with them! The management is banning them form ever working in the building again. They THREW AWAY all of my medications and cleaning supplies. When I called their customer service they made excuses for the crews behavior and tried to blame it on me, that I didn’t pack it right! They offered no apology and only offered me $75 courtesy check. I am so angry I set up a website to describe my experience and give updates regarding my claims process. Please don’t bother calling them.

Moishe’s Movers are the best!

Recently, we re-located our office from a 2,000 square foot space to a much smaller space. Moishe’s management worked with me to coordinate all of the logistics prior to the move. We had four delivery sites since we had to give away a lot of furniture and open up a storage unit. Our Moishe’s crew was so professional, fast and hard-working. The movers were extremely friendly and respectful. We had so many boxes, every time I turned around there were dozens of more boxes on dollies. The Moishe’s crew just kept lifting the boxes and moving the boxes always with a smile on their face. I recommend Moishe’s to anyone who is moving, I felt like these guys treated our possessions like they were moving their own things. When you spend 8 hours with a moving crew you get a sense of the people and the company where they work, these guys are the real deal. Total pros.

Another move, another time to call Moishes

So in the past few years iv had to move alot for my job (which has settled down now thank god) and this is second time using Moishe's. I called them up, they gave me a pretty decent quote, which was lower than the other 2 moving companies I called, and I remember'd from my last time using them that they had a lot of tips for moving annoying objects (fridges, dishwashers,etc.) and I had to move my Washing Machine and they helped me alot in how to do that. Thanks alot Moishe's!

A+ Moving Company

I researched City Search and narrowed it down to Moishe's and Flat Rate, since both had the most positive reviews. I decided to go with Moishe's because I was quoted a decent price (cheaper than Flat Rate) and they were more courteous on the telephone.

They took care of all the logistics with my building's management, and they showed up exactly on time. The guys handled my stuff with extreme care, and wrapped everything! They wrapped my stuff with blankets and plastic wrap, and absolutely nothing was damaged.

They sent just enough guys and the right sized truck for my studio apartment. The move was from Queens to Long Island, and the entire process from point A to point B happened in less than 3 hours!

These guys are A+ and I highly recommend them.

• Cons: None noted.

Personal and household belongings treated like garbage

We have moved 5 times in the past few years. We were very excited to try Moishe's having had bad experiences with movers previously. But in the end they proved to be unreliable and did not fairly compensate us for our loss. We chose them because their quote was reasonable. Not cheap, but fair. Also their customer service people are extremely good at appearing honest and trustworthy. Lastly, they had the availability to move us within the short time frame we needed- between ending one job in NYC and starting another one across the country in California.

In short- we do not recommend using Moishe's. We only recommend them if you do not need them to pack ANY of your belongings. They packed our hanging clothes, kitchen items, lamps and furniture. Big mistake. They broke the 4 out of our 5 lamps. Crushed the corner of our beautiful desk. Shattered the arm of a dining room chair. Insisted on removing the legs to the couch, despite our begging and pleading that the legs are not designed to be removed and were not removed when the couch was brought into the apartment.

Upon delivery they could not reassemble the legs to the couch and in trying they stripped out the screws and damaged the couch. They packed our filthy vacuum cleaner in the box with all of my clean business suits. So I had to have everything dry cleaned.

Finally upon watching the truck pull away with all of our belongings we saw our bed mattress tied to the outside of the truck! We were heartbroken to see our belongings treated with such disrespect.

Also, in previous moves we were offered insurance on the day of the move. But when they came in on moving day they told us that in NY the movers are not allowed to sell insurance. They did not tell us this before moving day and so there was nothing we could do at that point. All of our computers were packed and the internet had been disconnected the day before. I had no option for purchasing insurance separately. We were given only one option at that time- to sign the paperwork that stated our belongings are only worth 60 cents per pound! That means for each approx $100 lamp we were only compensated approx $9 dollars!! For the approx $1500 desk, compensation was about $60. For the approx $4,000 couch, compensation was approx = $120. For the $800 dining room chair we got approx $15 dollars.

We will never use Moishe's again!

Careful, quick, courteous and honest

I would feel absolutely confident in recommending Moishe's Moving to anyone. They are not cheap but they know what they are doing and do not damage stuff. They arrived on time, set to work and made things as easy as it could possibly be. My upright piano arrived at the new location without a scratch. I was impressed. They also seem to have a good rating with the moving insurance company because I was able to insure my move quite cheaply with them. Luckily, I didn't need to make any claims. I had a very bad experience with another company called Special Moving a few years ago, so I was determined to find a reliable and trustworthy company. I will use Moishe's again without hesitation.

• Pros: professional and efficient
• Cons: a little expensive but you get what you pay for

Best move ever!

This was our first time using Moishe's to move us from Hoboken to Jersey City. The movers (Alex, Steve, Jaime & Ruben) were very professional and they took great care in packing and moving our furniture and boxes. We were very impressed and highly recommend their services to anyone who is planning a move.

• Pros: Professional and took extreme care in handling our property during the move!
• Cons: No complaints whatsoever!

good people, very friendly

moishes is a choice that i dont regret one bit. i was very pleased with their service and also, i found them to be pretty friendly people. they were very courteous as well as very diligent and hardworking. for the amount of work that they did i felt like i should have been paying more. i almost felt as if i were robbing them! but moishes was without a doubt a bargain that someone would not want to miss out on.

in my opinion, out of all the moving companies that ive used (and i used quite a few) i would definitely say i had the best experience with moishes. the move with moishes went extremely smooth and there were no troubles at all. i dint have to worry about anything! these guys are pretty damn good at what they do. they, without a doubt, did a much better job with the move than i coulda done on my own and they did it super quick to. great job guys. appreciate it
