Can't go wrong

Been to many chiropractors/physical therapy places. This tops all. Dr. Perna listens. Dr. Sivendra is knowledgeable, and is a gentleman.

The first day I was there I was in excruciating pain. After Dr. Perna examined me and explained my problem I also saw the medical doctor there. I'm not a pill person, but good to know that I have the option if needed. The PT was considerate. I was there for a while but I really appreciated that they took their time with me. Marlene, the front desk lady is a sweetheart, and makes you feel at home. I am all better now, and discharged from care, but if I need to, I know where to go back.

The way a PT center should be

I had been going to a PT facility by my residence for about a year and my back was not getting better. When I came to Back and Body I was told in detail what would be my treatment. The wait time is almost non existent. I would highly recommend.

I'm All Better!!!!

I went to Back and Body Medical because I had a shoulder injury. Dr Perna was very professional and caring. I had never been to a PT before and was a little skeptical of going but I needed to know what was going on with my shoulder. I went in and was referred to have an MRI. The office that he sent me to was not far from his office and they were equal in their professionalism. After 3 months of treatment I felt as though I was back in high school and playing baseball. I would definitely recommend Dr. Perna and his team at Back and Body Medical. Thank you Dr. Perna.

3-in-1 service.

I hurt my back the other day and needed to see a doctor right away. After google through different PT and chiropractice in the midtown area, I found this place. It has excellant reviews, and doctor on site. What can I ask for? 3 specialties in one. I made an appointment right away. People at the front desk told me they accept and take my insurance. Awesome! Upon arriving, the receptionist was very attentative, so are the doctors and PT. They took xrays of my back and did some therapy on me. I felt great afterward. Thank you.

Love this place

By far the best PT office in the city. It's conveniently located in midtown right by the train and my office. I am unfortunately a huge clutz so I've been going there for 1.5 years. First I broke my wrist, then had some shoulder problems because it was my writing hand and I was modifying how I wrote, then, I broke BOTH my ankles while on vacation. They've been treating me great. The staff is amazing. I've gotten to know pretty much all of them since I am there several times a week for so long. The office staff is very knowledgable and nice, which I find to be a rarity in medical offices. Its a long healing process when you bust both your feet, and having a relaxed friendly environment, makes the visit enjoyable when I see so many smiling faces, despite the fact I keep breaking bones.

Great Place Friendly Staff

The staff is all very pleasant. You rarely wait more than 5 minutes to see someone. Usually you go right in.

What I really like is that they spend more than 10 seconds on you.. Most chiropractors that I've been to have you in and out in 10 minutes or so. They seem to take their time with you. Always a nice experience.

Great one on one treatment

The Doctors and the therapists treat you more than a customer, more like a one on one sessions ( The staff is also super friendly and caring to your needs) and they really do care for your well-being. I never got the excellent treatment anywhere else and I have been to a few chiropactors. I definitley recommend Back and Body Medical.

I've got 99 Problems but my Back ain't one!

This practice has been talked about by my work associates for years and as I have not had any back issues, did not need to know if they were right or wrong. Let me tell you, they are 100% right! From the instant I reached out to the practice, nothing but courteous interaction and easy to work with. Dr. Perna was straight forward as we worked through my issues (L4/L5). The physical therapy is thorough and comprehensive for my specific issues and I am almost 100% better, but felt immediately better after my first visit. Can not speak more highly of the work they do!

Amazing Service...

I have been using Back & Body Medical for several years now for lower back and shoulder issues that show up from time to time. I give this office high ratings - very professional, Dr. Perna and his staff explain things to you in words you can understand, not medical gibberish. I have never had an issue getting an appointment and am always taken on time. And...I walk out feeling much better than when I walked in.

If you are having back or body issues - I highly recommend using Back & Body Medical. Or at least calling them and giving them a try.

A Serious Medical Facility for Serious Well Care

At age 59, I thought that my multiple back conditions (spondy grade 2 with bilateral foraminal stenosis, L2-5 arthritis and bulging disc) would render me partially paralyzed and in need of immediate surgical intervention.

Drs. Perna and Sivendra ordered an MRI and an in-house nerve conduction test to determine the best course of action. Their combined experience contributed to what I now see as a superior treatment plan for me. They did not recommend Chiropractic treatment. They recommended physical therapy which included thrice weekly decompression. Their state of the art decompression table was the medical protocal.

In addition, a physical therapy program was designed starting with a test to determine my overall muscle strength. This formed the basis for the pt plan. Ann was assigned to be my primary physical therapist. She translated the goals into exercises designed to strength my core. Some exercises utilized my body weight, some exercises utilized the fit ball and some exercises utilized cardio machines. It is important to note that all of the physical therapists are aware of all patients - so they were all able to step in and advise me. I cannot stress how valuable this is. They are extremely knowledgeable and kind.

My condition has not been clear sailing and there have been times when my back has experienced 'flair-ups'. My therapist has supported me through these times with such compassion and has showed me how to manage my back and reduce the resulting swelling.

Finally, lifestyle management has been an integral part of my treatment. I have not only been taught exercises at Back and Body Medical. I have been taught how to manage my condition during trying situations -- prolonged sitting, standing as examples.

Back and Body Medical is a top notch facility and I can only echo what other reviewers have said -- this is a fine fine facility.
