AWWFUUUULLLLL- do not go here!
by LJB1988
do not.. i repeat DO NOT! go here. Sal (the manager) is soooo rude. He was poking my friends and I.. trying to add random charges to our bill and would not take them off. kept accusing us of being drunk when we didnt even have 1 drink... was poking us and threatening us... everything was AWFUL. expensive drinks, horrible staff, 100% worst experience ever. trust me- you dont want to go there!
- Pros: seriously none
- Cons: awful management, sneaky scam pricing, worst experience ever
Go here if you want to be abused

We came here a for a birthday party, and we paid for bottle service. They still gave our guests a problem, having them wait online for one hour.
The service was barely there, they dropped off the bottle and never came back....
The manager was rude and obnoxious to my friends, being yelling and threatening, and even spilled beer all over my legs!
- Pros: Its very pretty
- Cons: Everything else, the staff, the managment
Great Place for a Birthday Party
by LC25
I had my birthday party here on Saturday night and we had a great time! When we arrived, my entire party was able to cut the insanely long line. What's better, people who came later gave my name at the door were also able to cut the line.
The waitress was great and attentive and even hooked us up with a new bottle when ours was accidentally knocked over. Great views, fun crowd, and terrific service. Overall, Empire is an awesome spot for a birthday party. We will definitely be back soon.
I had so much fun.

I had alot of fun there, I went with a couple of friends from a fashion show, my friend Katie and this guy she knew, we went up the elevator, I though we where going to have trouble getting in but nope, the people where so sweet, and the people there can make or break a place, Me and Katie Advocate, Model/Dancer, danced, networked, took pictures, and videos of the night. So much fun. See the content by looking up Merry Whitney google search.
- Pros: fire place, nice people, celebs, fashion, models,
Rude & Unprofessional
by lauramiesel
After I decided to plan my 25th birthday at Empire. I was assured by the promoter of the venue that it wouldn't be an issue for my group of friends to get in. When we arrived, they forced us to purchase 3 bottles for a group of 30 people whom are mostly girls. The manager stuck us at the worst possible table ever. He made it seem like he was doing us a favor. The worst part of all was that the party was really urban. If it wasn't for the great views and my friends being there. I would NEVER recommend a place like this. It's a complete waste.
- Pros: Great views
- Cons: Rude management, doorstaff
Watch out for the General Monster
by CSMobileUser3
This weekend I celebrated my 30th B-day at the Empire Hotel Rooftop and had both positive and negative experiences...
Pros - The place itself is beautiful and spacious with a fantastic view and since we're on a rooftop smokers don't have to go far.
The waitress and servers were very attentive and kept our bottles and mixers filled.
The bouncers were great in making sure no craziness went on.
The Promoter JP was great and so helpful!
Cons - The "GM" has delusions of grandeur and has no concept of "the customer is always right". He was extremely rude and bc of him alone I would never recommend this place to anyone for a party. He told me that my cake was taking revenue away from his kitchen (I guess my over $1K tab plus all the drinks my guests were buying aren't considered revenue). Or maybe he thought I was going to sell my birthday cake to his patrons. When I tried to show him that I was told that there was no plating fee bc I still had the email saved on my blackberry, he told me he didn't care what anyone told me because he is the "GM" and he has the last word. When I told him I don't like being misled he responded, "whatever!" Zero custumer service skills. Empire needs to fire that guy pronto! He's a profanity. He was a General Monster!
The DJ was also a con. Maybe it's just me but Ace of Base and Whitney Houston just aren't party hits in 2009. For a minute there I thought he was trying to help me relive all my thirty years lol
Despite that General Monster and outdated music, overall I had a great time thanks to the wait staff, the security guys, the promoter JP and more than anything my guests!!!
Horrible GM service!!

I went to this place for the first time last sat for my friends birthday-the general manager was the worst possible staff member that night, just horrid and rude!!! Ughh-the bouncers were great, esp. Jason, very attentive to my friends and I when we asked questions
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Rooftop

I had to plan my roommate's 25th birthday and decided to go with Empire Hotel Rooftop after reading the reviews. It was definitely a great choice. I got in touch with the promoter of the party and he was kind enough to setup a guest list for your party. We decided to reserve a table since it was a large group of us. The doorgirl was super friendly in making sure all of our friends got in without any issues. Thanks for everything!
- Pros: Amazing Views, DJ
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Could be better

Overpriced and WAY overrated
by polo4142
I would stay away from this place for the following reasons!!! 1) The drinks are way overpriced 2) The waitresses don't care about customers, are very rude and pushy. If sitting and not ordering drink after drink they ask you to get up and move 3) management is horrid, no sense of customer service (the customer is always right concept). They should appreciate the business in this economy, but rater make you feel like they are doing you a favor. AVOID OR EXPERIENCE FOR YOURSELF!!!!
- Pros: Views
- Cons: Staff and Management
