My Experience about Custom Shirts

I work in a law firm and dress code in my office requires wearing proper suits or dress shirts with tie. Our dress code does not end with just wearing an ordinary dress shirt, but they insist on wearing high quality dress shirts due to the nature of our work. I specially deal in customer relationship department where I have to meet daily with dozens of corporate level customers. One day, due to low quality and ill fitted shirt, a customer reported my senior quoting my dressing as a pathetic one, which is insulting. That day I realized that simply wearing new dress shirts from a local store would not help me.

One of my close friends suggested me to visit fit custom shirts as a reliable source of high quality and best fitting dress shirts. I am kind of orthodox and do not prefer online shopping as I have heard many times that many online sellers are scams. My friend insisted me to at least visit the site, so reluctantly I just visited the fit custom shirts’ online portal. At first sight, I was mesmerized with the quality of services they were offering. For first time at fit custom shirts, I came to know about the phrase ‘custom dress shirts’. I browsed and gathered all information about custom shirts from fit custom shirts’ blog.

Without wasting my time, I decided to give fit custom shirts a try and I started designing my shirt. The website literally has hundreds of different fabric qualities and colors. I chose the best for me and proceeded with customization. Never in my life, have I seen such customization options. As I am a little bit of an athletic built, so I choose athletic fitting shirt. Then I moved to collar style and saw jaw-dropping styles, which are only worn by celebrities. I am fond of English wide spread collar so I selected it with French square cuff.

Fit custom shirts have really impressive dress shirt designing and measurement options. I designed my shirt within couple of minutes and took the risk by confirming my order. The administration of fit custom shirts confirmed the order and give estimated delivery time of 10 working days with free delivery in US. Within a week, I received the shirt and found it a superb fit on my body. Next day in my office, I felt quite confident with perfect fitting of shirt and outclass fabric quality. My senior also appreciated me about the sudden change in my dressing and since then I have ordered dozens of shirts with them and I am totally satisfied with their service. Fit custom shirts, in my opinion are the best source to buy custom shirts.

Decent

I had high hopes for this place. I am tall and on the slim side (6'2''/175lbs) and was hoping to find a go-to shirt maker for white shirts to wear with suits, with and without a tie. Alex was nice but seemingly pre-occupied and hurried. Fitting was fine and the shirt came back in two weeks. Few things off with the fit, firstly the pocket was about 2'' too low and the body was still not narrow enough. Put in the changes and also ordered another shirt (french cuff this time). Both shirts came back and I noticed the sleeves were big on both shirts, but probably 3'' bigger in diameter on the second shirt. I went in and a young lady fitted both shirts but when I got them back, although narrower, the second shirt sleeve was probably 2'' wider than the first.

Therefore I can't really complain about the customer service as they've done everything I've asked, but I do seriously question the level of precision these guys put into the 'bespoke fittings' given a simple shirt sleeve width can't come out consistent between two shirts. I appreciate the help they've given but its tough to come down to Soho upwards of 3 or 4 times when in reality this should get done in at MOST 2 fittings. Unsure whether I will order more shirts.

Worst Company I've Dealt With Lately

Had a custom shirt made, Finally got them to alter it but had to fight with them the whole way.....worst customer service.....If you are used to the good folks at Zappos, don't bother with these people.

It made my grandfather want new clothes

When my grandfather had to choose his fabrics he went crazy, choosing twenty. It is a family joke that he has not bough new clothes in 30 years but he loved the process. I will have gifts for his birthday, father's day and Christmas for years.

Best Custom Shirts in NY

I am 6' 3", slim and long. I always had a hard time finding the right shirt. I don't even try off-the-rack shirts and I have tried few custom shirt places in the city.

In terms of fabric quality, fit and price, you cannot beat Alexander West. I received my shirt in 2 weeks and that was much faster than other more expensive places.

Won't be going back to PINK or Charles Tyrwhitt again...

I had not purchased custom shirts before, but after trying my first Alexander West shirt, I purchased 11 more in my first round and an additional 10 in my second round. I also threw out my "off-the-rack" shirts. Alexander West shirts fit very well and are very good value for money. AW has excellent and vast material and design selection and good customer service. Before purchase, Alexander West had communicated to me that the shirts will take 4-6 weeks and they arrived per the timing given. I won't be going back to PINK or Charles Tyrwhitt again...

• Pros: Great material selection, perfect fit, great value for $$$, Can try 1 finished shirt before ordering more
• Cons: Shirts take 4-6 weeks to arrive (but it is communicated in advance)

Alexander West - Fit for a king

Coming from Europe, where I'm used to a much closer fitting shirt and style, I was having trouble here, even in NY, finding a shirt that I liked that would fit. My alexander west shirt fits better than anything that i've ever found here, and even better than almost anything i've found anywhere. Also I really liked the variety of fabric choices and how i got to choose how I like my shirt to be. Not like in the store where all I get to choose is the color, and the size is not good and it has things i dont like (for example the collar shape or with a pocket). For me its perfect because its made for me and only me, with my sizes and the fabric that I want. It fits me better than my old italian custom made shirt and it cost less than half of the price! Who could ask for better?

Great option for the "hard to shop for"

I had to buy a birthday gift for a friend and couldn't decide what to get him...He is really hard to shop for, he has everything. I took one of this dress shirts, sent it to Alexander West and 3 weeks later I gave my friend back his old shirt along with a custom dress shirt made to the exact measurements of his favorite shirt. He loved it and immediately got properly measured and now has about 4 other Alexander West shirts! For someone who has to wear a dress shirt everyday, this was the perfect present!

Once you go bespoke, you can't go back

i got my husband, an investment banker, to try a custom shirt from Alexander West. After he got his first shirt, we wanted to order 15 more. The shirts fit him better than anything he's ever owned. He literally threw away all his off-the-rack shirts because he couldn't stand to wear them! Customer service was excellent as well.

Be Careful, You Won't Be Able to Go Back to Brooks Brothers or the Department Store

I have a lot of Alexander West shirts, and I have been more than pleased with all of them. The quality, value and attention to detail are great. The company also has great service and will do anything to make sure that you love your shirts. I have recommended to all my friends.
