The ABSOLUTE BEST for Corrective Eye Surgery!!!

If you are considering corrective laser surgery, this is the only place to go! Dr. Mandel and his staff are extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and cautious (this last attribute is very important since we are talking about your eyes!).

I first went for a consultation where the Dr. takes you through a large number of tests to make sure you are a candidate. In my case, I had been nearsighted since age 12, -5.5 in both eyes and I wore soft contact lenses almost exclusively. After reviewing the tests, Dr. Mandel advised that due to the thinness of my cornea, her would not recommend LASIK, but that I was a candidate for PRK. PRK is actually the safer of the two procedures; however I was told that the recovery would be longer (1 day for LASIK vs. 1-2 weeks for PRK).

I scheduled the surgery and had to wear glasses exclusively for 3 weeks leading up to the surgery. In the meantime, I started getting anxious about the pain during recovery based on what I read after googling 'PRK recovery'. I was prepared for the worst!

On the day of the surgery, I was at the Dr's office 1 hour prior for tests and drops, then I spent no more than 5 minutes in the operating room (less than 1 minute per eye). The whole time you stare straight ahead and don't feel a thing. My vision was immediately 20/40 or close. I went home and slept that night, and for the next few days was a bit teary but no pain. You have to follow the Dr.'s regimen of drops to make sure you heal properly (several times a day at first, and then less and less).

Dr. Mandel follows you very closely after the surgery, at first every other day, then every week, then every month. Another great thing about this office is that they never keep you waiting more than 5 minutes!

Now my vision is 20/15 and I am so glad I had the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Mandel and his team, you will be in excellent hands.

Got my perfect vision back

Had lasik done a day ago, can see just fine, absolutely no complaints. Dr. Mandel and all the staff are very attentive and thorough both during initial evaluation and post operation care. I highly recommend Mandel vision to anybody.

An angel that walks among us

I am still in shock. I know of stories old and recent, and I must say I am truly pleased to know that I didn't have any problems. The very next day after the procedure, my vision has been perfect night and day. Dr. Mandel is THE best. When it comes to my eyes I will find him and I will follow him no matter where he is. It will be worth whatever obstacle I will have to face.

Dr. Mandel was recommended by my optometrist on whom Dr. Mandel performed Lasik. Therefore, I didn't shop around. I am very happy, better than 20/20 from almost blind with astigmatism. If you are considering the procedure, go with Dr. Mandel. If you need PRK, like me, just be patient--these people know what they are doing.

Mandel Vision is Top Notch

I had a couple of consults at various other lasik centers and Dr. Mandel's equipment is far more sophisticated than most of the other centers I went to. With his extensive background and accomplished track record, I felt I was in the right hands. A week later I was right and now I am 20/20 after being legally blind for the majority of my life. This is a life changing experience and Dr. Mandel changes lives with a blink of the eye. I received surgery on 8/17/2009 and today (8/26/2009), I am 20/20 (maybe even a little better).

Dr. Mandel and his team are the rare but reassuring combination of competency, professionalism and compassion. The results of my LASIK procedure are nothing short of perfection. I wish I had more eyes...I'd do it again tomorrow!!!!

BEST Doctor for Laser Vision Correction!

Dr. Mandel's glowing reputation certainly precedes him and rightfully so. His professionalism, experience, and attention to detail have truly earned him his many prestigious accolades.

Dr. Mandel will only perform a procedure if he is absolutely certain that your result will be perfect. At my first evaluation, my corneas were in such a beaten up state that he gave me a prescription for eye drops and asked me to return at a later time for another free evaluation. I had been to 2 other LASIK surgeons before seeing Dr. Mandel and neither of them addressed that issue. They just wanted me to make appointments for surgery. At my second evaluation with Dr. Mandel, he determined that I was a good candidate for LASIK. On the day that my procedure was scheduled, all of the tests were run again to make sure that we had the latest data on my eyes. One of the tests yielded results that did not match the previous ones. Dr. Mandel did not want to procede until he determined the reason for this. He consulted another leading expert in the field and I had the procedure done 2 days later. Every time I called the office for updates, Dr. Mandel personally came to the phone and explained everything. I am very happy with my results!

Dr. Mandel makes his patients feel very comfortable during the entire process. He explains everything thoroughly and has a great sense of humor. Dr. Mandel truly cares about his patients and goes the extra mile for them. He called me in the evening on the day that I had LASIK just to check up on me and make sure everything was okay even though I was going to see him the next morning.

The staff at Mandel Vision is also great. Nancy was my LASIK coordinator. I was so nervous at first but she guided me through every step of the way and answered all of my questions thoroughly.

If you are considering laser vision correction you cannot go wrong by seeing Dr. Mandel. He will not perform any procedure unless he knows that he will get perfect results for you.

You must go to Dr. Mandel for your laser vision correction. Period. I had a very great experience, just had it done last week, and I feel great. My vision is better than 20/20 now. My friend and sister had it done with him about 8 years ago and their still perfect.

The only place for Lasik Surgery

After wearing contact lenses for almost 40 years enough was enough. You cannot walk down a street in NYC without something blowing into your contacts. Wow is that painful! Dr Mandel and staff were professional,attentive and very patient. They are a very concerned and caring staff. The eye exam prior to surgery was so very thorough. They listen to your concerns instead of talking at you, or down to you. You are made to feel as relaxed as possible. I am glad I choose Dr Mandels office for my procedure.

Seeing better than 20/20 now - Dr. Mandel is the Best!

After scratching my cornea when something got under my contacts a few months ago, I decided to get corrective eye surgery and be done with contacts and glasses. Several colleagues and friends recommended Dr. Mandel so I scheduled a screening.

I was very impressed from the first visit...the technicians and staff were very professional and attentive, and I was very impressed by the amount of time Dr. Mandel spent with me answering all my questions that evening. The screening was very thorough and I had no doubts about going forward with the surgery.

The day of the surgery Dr. Mandel and everyone at the office did a great job getting me ready and calming my jitters. The surgery went off without a hitch and I was able to go home immediately afterwards and slept through the night with no problems.

The next morning my vision was perfect and even though I had a pronounced astigmatism before the surgery, I was now seeing better than 20/20!

I highly recommend Dr. Mandel for his excellent results, great attitute, fantastic staff and his attentiveness to all of his patients.
