Good Stuff!
by Juicehead
Friends and I stopped into the Houndstooth Pub after the boat show at the Javits center for a bite to eat before heading to Penn St. The service and food were excellent. We will see you again next year if not sooner. Thanks!!!
Great Tourist Pub
by Bediggy
This spot has a great atmosphere, great pub feel and excellent drinks. However, it's quite the tourist hangout - at least until about midnight, even on a Saturday. It's definitely not a native new-yorker spot, which makes sense given it's location. But, for all the vacationers, you can watch a game, have a good drink or two and enjoy a great bar meal without breaking the bank.
Awesome Food!

They have one amazing Burger there!!! I've been there a few times and the food in general is very good. I always look forward to trying their newest specials. I work in the area and it's a great place to go for lunch, dinner, or even an after-work happy hour. They have a bar on each level so my co-workers and I usually hang out at the lower bar. The bartenders and waiters give great service. Everyone is extremely accommodating no matter what the situation is.
BEST PUB FOOD IN NYC !
by AVE LAW
Absolutely outstanding. Settled in premier location, Houdstooth Pub offers excellent options for both lunch and dinner. With such an outstanding & friendly staff, my girlfriend and I felt right at home during our several trips to Houndstooth. During our stops, we ordered the calamari, escargot, fish & chips, crab cakes. and duck salad. And of course several cocktails - all of which were exceptional! Everything was excellent and we will be sure to return to Houndstooth next time we're in Manhattan.
Best Pub Food in NYC!

Shocked! - At how great the food was! Not your standard "pub-grub" I had the burger and was blown away... My friend had gourmet salad and loved it; other friend had chili: Loved it and last friend had Manchester chicken sandwich and raved about it... None of us could believe how great it was - simply because we just intended to have a couple of beers and go... Total bonus! Friendly staff and top notch service to boot. Cheers Houndstooth, I shall return!
Houndstooth has personality!

Houndstooth Pub is the hidden jewel in a massive city.....just go and try it out - have a beer - watch a game - eat a burger.
You won't regret it.
Finally a bar worthy of Midtown has arrived!

Location, location - Houndstooth was a great spot to meet people near the Garden.
Food, food, staff, staff - But then I discovered the food was excellent, and the staff was professional, smart, and attentive. Nice upstairs, then a great downstairs. Live music and the occasional rock stars are icing on the cake.
Keep it up, Houndstooth! I will be back!

Fun digs

Located on an ordinary street, Houndstooth looks like an ordinary pub. The wood paneling, flat-screen TVs, and big booths are all nice, but not terribly special. However, walk down the back stairs, and the pub becomes underground bar/venue. I came for a 90s cover band dual set, and didn’t stop humming Weezer and Goo Goo Dolls until late into the night. The small corner stage seemed a little cramped, but the crowed danced and sang along. I can’t comment on the food, as I had none, but the bar staff was friendly and attentive, and didn’t seem too unnerved by the nostalgic yell-singing of the twenty-something crowd momentarily reliving their lost days of idyllic pre-iPad youth.
- Pros: Good small concert venue
Midtown Gem!
by tiernan
Our company had our annual tech show this past week at the Javitz Center also located on 37th St. One of our competitors invited us back to the Houndstooth Pub where they were hosting a Happy Hour. A dozen plus co-workers and I crashed the event and were the last to leave....great food , service, music and cocktails....Ouch!
We will be back next time we're in from Boston...fyi Beantown's back bay would be a great place for a 2nd Houndstooth!
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Far from Home...& had to watch the Yankees Win
