D- bags all around

by mfunk1000

If I could some how leave a flaming bag of poo via the internet over this place I would. The people / investors that work here have no idea what the value of a customer means. They threw me and my friends out even after we bought a bottle all because this one "ausie" investor showed up to hang out with his friends and their bag of snow. The only thing this place has is a decent atmosphere, drinks are over priced, staff is rude and bouncers are way to physical.

  • Cons: everything

In the subterranean space formerly known as Bella's, a hot spot for the preppy-chic set, courtesy of the brothers Martignetti.

by Justine Goodman

With the opening of Southside, Tom and Anthony Martignetti seem to have solidified their place in the world of New York City nightlife. As at Bella's (and Martignetti Liquors before that), the crowd is a mixed brood of boarding schoolers-turned-Wall Streeters, pretty young girls, and friends of the brothers. A long, wide hallway adorned with palm trees leads to a dark, swanky bar room with new banquettes that boast built-in subwoofers. The rest of the joint has been classed-up with palm tree wallpaper, a pressed tin ceiling and a DJ booth that churns out a mix of pop favorites and rock classics (think T.I.-meets-Spoon).

Hits: The later (and boozier) it gets, the less likely the chances of going home solo--but isn't that the point?

Misses:
If you're not a regular and you're not buying bottles or arriving with a gaggle of girls, expect a wait at the door. And don't bother trying to namedrop with the bouncer, Q; everyone claims to be a friend of the brothers.
