Citysearch Editorial Review
by Michelle Aubuchon
With 13 flat-screen TVs mounted on its exposed brick walls, you’re sure to have a solid view of the game at Cornerstone no matter where you’re seated. Barely a trace of the previous occupant (a pizza parlor) remains at this bi-level midtown haunt, where groups gather for classic bar fare (mozzarella sticks, potato skins, burgers), beer and sports. The 15-strong draft selection includes Stella, Brooklyn Lager and Blue Moon, served by the glass or in 100-oz tubes. The owners (Irishmen who came to the States for the World Cup in '94 and decided to stick around) had a clear objective in designing their venue. It’s not a pick-up scene for singles; it's strictly a sports bar, so go to cheer on your team with other like-minded sports fans, not to find the jersey-wearing love of your life.
Conerstone Rocks

I had my girlfriends birthday party in the Conerstone recently and it was perfect. The staff were great, the bar has a really good vibe, and food was perfect.
I highly recommend the Cornerstone for any party.
- Pros: Awesome bar
Great night out : )

I'm new to the area, found this great new spot. Really good pub food and the crowd is a sports and fun loving crew. Seriously, amazing beer selection!!! Definitely going back next weekend!!!
- Pros: Amazing selection of beer, awesome bartenders
- Cons: Wish brunch was longer
Cornertone...great addition to the hood!

Cornerstone is one of the best bars on 2nd Avenue and a great place to watch games. The service always comes with a smile. Even the bus boys are happy to be working. You can't beat 20 cent wings which not only come out spicy but come in the best bbq sauce. I also highly recommend the chicken fingers. The food is way better than the average bar menu and worth every penny. The bathrooms are tiny but at least there is more than 2. Very clean space!! Great addition to Midtown East!!
- Pros: Service, Food, Beer Tube, Trivia and 20 CENT WINGS!!
- Cons: Designation of male & female bathroom
Great place to watch the games

I love this bar! Cornerstone Tavern is a blast. It's by far the best place in the East side to watch a game, 20 cent wings, beer tubes, cheap beer with a huge selection and hot bartenders. What's not to love.
- Pros: Trivia on Wednesdays with $1 mugs
Real neighborhood joint even if you're not from the 'hood

More TV screens per capita than any bar in Manhattan. And they don't come any sweeter than KC! England's loss is your gain when she pours.
- Pros: Staff
- Cons: Can get cramped
Great new addition to the area

I have stopped by the Cornerstone Tavern a number of times over the last couple of weeks and have had a great experience everytime. The food is great, the staff is competent and friendly, and its a fun place to watch the games. They have trivia on Wednesdays with dollar mugs, I had a blast there last week and highly recommend it.
- Pros: Great food, friendly staff, great place to watch a game
- Cons: none
Great Bar

Stumbled upon Cornerstone last night after eating dinner and we wanted to go somewhere chill to have a drink. Cornerstone was the place. It is a regular bar, but with a really great vibe. The staff was pretty friendly and we got buy backs from the bartender which was really cool. it was a good chill place to hang out and it was pretty packed for a wednesday night. Will def come by again maybe this time we will eat there too!
- Pros: Great Bar and Great Staff
- Cons: far from my apartment
