Brilliant

Sweet Basil very recently catered a corporate event of ours and from start to finish were extremely flexible, intuitive and responsive. This was very impressive given the "hostess" of said event is uncommonly particular and demanding and historically impossible to please. Her constant change of menu design, last minute additions and demand for specific costing did not once fluster Sweet Basil who ultimately on the night of the event catered flawlessly and exceeded the hostesses' expectations. I most highly recommend their services regardless whether a small, large, corporate or private affair - they can handle anything!

Great Service,Great food

Sweet Basil Catering catered our cocktail party on October 16th,2009. We were very pleased with the food (and the presentation of the food on trays). Our friends told us that it was the best catered food they'd ever tasted. The service was nothing short of perfect. They made this a stress-free event and enabled my husband and I to fully enjoy our party. They did a great job cleaning up my kitchen as well.

They were able to set up a menu in a short amount of time being that I did not give them a lot of notice (this was a last minute cocktail party).

We look forward to hiring them again in the near future and will keep recommending them to our friends.

Their food, style and service made my party!

"Their cocktail event for my daughter's engagement party was one beautifully prepared, presented and unique dish after the other. Flavors and amounts were always satisfying, delicious and just right. The timing of their serving of each new hors d'ouvre was perfectly orchestrated, as were the varieties they offered. Sweet Basil pays meticulous attention to detail and that is what makes the difference. And you can tell they really care about you and your guests."

Highly recommendable caterer

Amy and Jen from Sweet Basil catered our 35 people wedding party at Ramscale in Downtown Manhattan and they did an amazing job.

Food was delicious and table and flower decoration was superb.

On top of that Amy and her team are down to earth and very easy to get along with. They proved to be great listeners, very reliable, cost-transparent, they had no issues adjusting to cultural EU-US differences and proved to be really flexible.

We could not have wished for a better caterer to our wedding.

Fabulous Birthday Party Experience!!!

Amy catered the birthday party I threw in Riverside park for my 3 year old son (about 30 adults and 15 kids). She did a fantastic job. She made a specialized Little Einstein cake that was incredible. She did two different menus: one for the adults and one for the kids. All of my guests were very impressed.

Amy also did all of the decorations for the party, did the setup and clean up, and served during the party. The price was unbelievably reasonable for the service. I was thrilled with everything she did for me.

Please feel free to get my number through Amy and call me if you have any questions. I will definitely use her company again in the future.

One more thing, the appetizers were to die for!!

Exquisite Catering for 100-Person Wine Tasting Charity Event

Amy Aversa of Sweet Basil Catering graciously donated her time and energy to our 100-person wine tasting charity event to benefit a program at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She gave us the catering at cost and allowed us to provide our own volunteer staff to maximize our contributions to the program. While this donation speaks volumes of her as a person, it does not even begin to describe how delicious the appetizers were or how professionally and beautifully she handled the event.

Amy worked with our wine provider to design appetizers that complimented the wines we would be serving. She came up with many different ideas, and we were able to pick the ones we liked the most (although they all sounded tasty).

The day of the event, all of our guests were raving about how delicious the food was. We had a lot of guests who regularly go to these kinds of cocktail events, and they were all saying that our appetizers were the most delicious that they had ever tasted at a party.

Amy did a really nice job of making sure there was food for all guests for the whole two and a half hours, which I am sure was made more difficult by the fact that each appetizer was paired with a different wine and guests arrived at different times. She had a table of cheese, bread, and other appetizers that were always out, and she had our volunteers walk around to guests with the main wine-paired appetizers.

Let me say it again, the food was amazing. The quality of the ingredients was so fresh and mouth-watering, and the presentation was inventive and modern while still being classic. I would hire Sweet Basil in an instant for my own private party, and I can't believe Amy donated her talented services to our charity.

In addition to the delicious food, Amy and her partners took care of all of the decor for us at the event. They rented tables and linens, designed centerpieces that were thoughtful to our cause, and made the whole space look beautiful.

We are very thankful we ran across Sweet Basil's website when we were looking for caterers for our charity event. They did a fabulous job.

Fantastic evening and food!

Sweet Basil catered a wine tasting dinner at our apartment for 22 guests.

It was a 5 course, wine pairing dinner.

Amy was fantastic in helping to pair the food with the wine. She provided many options and still was able to stay within the budget provided.

She and her staff, pulled off a flawless evening.

- friendly and professional staff

Overall it was very well planned, organized and executed.

We plan to work with Sweet Basil again next time we need to cater a dinner.

Excellent Caterer, Very Personalbale and Professional

My girlfriend and I hosted an imprompteu party recently and found Amy Aversa through a friend's recommendation. All we could say was "Wow!" Between her friendliness, demeanor and professionalism we were happy before even experiencing what she was preparing...Before we knew it, Amy had assembled an array of beautiful platters that looked spectacular. Everything tasted even better than it looked (and that's saying quite a lot). We tend to enjoy the better restaurants and eat out often and found Sweet Basi to be excellent. From the beef filet apps to the cheesecake lolipops, everyone was thrilled with the food. Highy recommended! Thanks Amy.

Great Experience with Sweet Basil

My (now) wife and I hired Sweet Basil to cater our engagement party in December '07. It was our first experience with hiring a caterer in NYC, and we'd heard horror stories from friends about catering services they'd used, so we didn't know what to expect. Well, Sweet Basil exceeded our hopes and made the party an affair to remember! Amy worked overtime with us to design a menu fit for the occasion (and our budget). On the big day, the quality, variety and amount of food proved to be tremendous, and the service was perfect - the servers were always there, but never in the way. We'll happily use Sweet Basil again.

I highly recommend this caterer

I've used Sweet Basil Catering three times now and they were terrific each time. We hired them to cater both of my sons' birthday parties and in December we hired them to cater my birthday dinner. My husband and I are big wine lovers, and we were just as thrilled with their wine selections as we were the food. We especially loved the goat cheese ravioli and the short ribs. The service was excellent, too.
