Best hot dogs!

by KouldBe311

this place is great. I got a great dane and some frites. I was blown away. They have EVERYTHING. I do delivery orders from F&B a lot as I work in Chelsea. If you want some great hot dogs, at a great price, check them out. Try the beignet's too, so tasty.

  • Pros: Absolutely the best hot dog
  • Cons: One one store

Hot dogs and other fast-food eats become Euro-chic treats.

by Contributor

The Scene
Milk-blue, Britpop-scored F&B is designed to accommodate as much human traffic as possible, with seating at small stools along two-foot-wide countertops. Service is prompt and cheery--a manager breezes around the room, delivering orders and clearing plates with a rare sort of prideful alacrity.

The Food
Any questions as to the source of F&B's popularity are immediately answered upon biting into a hot dog. Try the Great Dane, an imported Danish dog with a snappy casing and a garlicky bite, or a boiled Top Dog, smothered in winey sauerkraut and bacon with a cooking school-smooth squiggle of mustard. Best of all are the prices--a small sum buys a dog, a hot carton of crunchy, golden pommes frites (you can upgrade to sweet potato frites, or combine both with onion rings in the delicious Mixed Bag) and a cool cup of lemonade or iced tea.

Absolutely amazing....best hot dog in NYC

by NYC311

I'm not sure what the beignet hater is talking about below. They were very tasty. But, hands down, feet up, this is the best hot dog spot in the city. Don't bother with the greasy east village shacks...this place will knock your socks off. I had a chicken dog, a beef dog, fries, and a soda...cheap, and one of the better experiences. The whole order to tray being served took about 5 minutes. These folks know their food. Go!!

  • Pros: Amazing Food
  • Cons: Small establishment

Deepest Disappointment

by stilettobrat

First to arrive on Saturday salivating for Beignets. Tried both Chocolate and Plain - can't tell you I could not finish one and they each came with 3 individuals. It made me hate NYC for not having Good Beignets prefected as of yet. They had them made and inside of a heating display all bready and dry sprinkled cheaply with powdered sugar. It was only a dollar for each flavor but felt cheated and stupid. I decided to try the vegetarian roasted onion hot dog the previous reviewer suggested. The onions were dehydrated onions, hot dog boiled but cold, but the only good thing was about the picked relish. I think this place is a complete disaster and is running on tricking tourists.

  • Pros: The music is all they had going for them besides the air conditioner
  • Cons: Hot dogs are room temperature if not colder. The Beignets are an insult to my intelligence. They should be ashamed of themselves!

great veggie dogs!

by ameselle

the best veggie dogs i have ever tasted, hands down. I though they had mistaken my order and given me a meat dog, but no, they veggie ones are just that good. Killer tart lemonade, too.

My Aching Dawgs

by wonko_the_sane99

Great location in one of the hottest towns in the city. Check. Hip and trendy neon blue decor to match. Check. Young good-looking twenty somethings serving your food. Check. Best hot dogs in the city. Big Ole Check. So where do we go wrong? Well $7 for dog and fries and the fact youd have to eat at least 2 orders to even come close to feeling satiated. Still though gotta love the dawgs. Try the Top Dog.

  • Pros: best dogs in the city, cute friendly service, trendy decor
  • Cons: expensive, not filling

Delivery...don't bother

by ccbnola

Our office has ordered delivery from the 23rd street store several times. The first experience was fine, though very slow. Subsequent experiences have not been so good - the last two times the orders were very incomplete - or just plain wrong. Today, after waiting over an hour and a half they called to say they lost our order, sorry. Save yourself the time and aggravation and go there and wait online for a long time for a hot dog - they are good - or order delviery way before you are hungry...or my recommendation is to order from somewhere you can depend on.

  • Pros: tasty, not very expensive, different
  • Cons: , delivery is awful

Great Dogs, Bad Prices, Terrible Service

by ax213

The hot dogs here are creative and delicious. I liked the great dane, but the size of what you get-for the price you have to pay, for everything here, is anything but great. And the service is even worse. I've been in this place for lunch--before the rush--so I'm the only person in there. Even though there are four people working back there and no other customers it takes 15-20 mins to put together a single hot dog. What's the deal? The service just sucks. I'd still recommend giving it a try because the food is good. But it is expensive for a tiny hot dog and a few fries with a little soda. I would need to eat at least two combos in order to be enough to eat(and trust me I'm not fat), but that would cost close to $20. . . for two hot dogs!???

  • Pros: Great Hot Dogs, Creative
  • Cons: , Not fast fast food, Small portions
