Great hotel, great price

by mrgorman

On a last minute trip to NYC for a college visit, we chose to find a moderately priced hotel rather than using our usual Marriott points. Not realizing it was Columbus Day week-end, most everything was booked solid. We came upon the Ramada Inn on Lexington and 30th and took our chances. What a find it was!! We were pleasantly surprised. The room was newly renovated with brand new tempur-pedic mattresses, big flat screen TV and a newly renovated bathroom with new toilets, fixtures, tub and granite sink. Everything was clean and comfortable. The hotel is also convenient to many tourist attractions such as the Empire State Building, Times Square and Macy's Herald Square. We walked everywhere. In the morning they offer a free continental breakfast which was wonderful. I would highly reccommend this hotel.

  • Pros: Hotel offers discounted parking at lot two blocks away.
  • Cons: None

Clean rooms. Rude staff.

by chelseaamazing

Reasonable price and clean rooms in a neighborhood with great restaurants and nearby access to the subway. But the staff is unbelievably rude and dismissive. Front desk is unhelpful with questions about the area or transportation. Told "you can find that out in the Yellow Pages in your room" in response to a request for information on shuttles to the airport. We stayed a week and not once did we receive a hello or a smile from the front desk staff.

All in all a convenient place to stay. Decent price for a clean room. Bed not real comfortable. Don't expect anything from the staff.

  • Pros: Clean rooms. Decent price.
  • Cons: Incredibly rude and unhelpful staff.

Good Location

by forkrisf

Nice hotel for a great price. Very nice neighborhood. We are spending two nights, and I just woke up. Rooms aren't that large, but they are clean, quiet, they have wireless internet, good water pressure in the showers. For someone that likes to come to NYC and enjoy the city this is great. I haven't needed anything from the front desk, but that's how I am, I just want a clean safe room to come to at the end of my day.

  • Pros: clean, affordable, nice location

great value hotel

by soljc

If you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere. The rooms are bland and small, the furnishings are basic and the views aren't much. BUT, for those budget conscious travelers ($100/night booked directly), you can't go wrong. In fact, I've paid much, much more for rooms that are far less. I recommend this hotel for those on a tight budget.

  • Pros: great value, clean, location
  • Cons: , slow elevators

Loads of amenities for not a load of money.

by Contributor

The Scene
Situated in the quiet, residential eastside neighborhood of Murray Hill, this hotel is not far from the bustle of Manhattan. The Empire State Building, East Village pubs and clubs, and the Flatiron building are all within walking distance. The staff is professional and friendly. Front-desk employees will make dinner or nightlife suggestions for guests.

The Details
The hotel recently underwent a complete renovation. A lobby now has plenty of classic New York style with marble countertops, hunter-green bookshelves and exposed-brick walls. The guest rooms boast all you need for a satisfying stay. Indulgences include Internet access (via the TV), video games and new heating and air-conditioning systems. The bathrooms are laden with marble. Both the business center and sizeable health club are well-equipped.

Big Hotels in Big Cities......

by joanofarc

To All- I've been to the Quality Hotel at Lexington Avenue a few times in the past year, and each visit is as wonderful as the previous one. . The doormen, front desk staff, and concierge are very friendly and have helped me with whatever I have needed. On one visit I stayed in a room with a view of "The Big City" on the topmost floor of the hotel. I hope that you enjoy your stay as much as I did.

spotless beauty warm and cosy...

by nadinetontanawala

I traveled from Germany to NYC in August 2002 and was a little apprehensive about the accommodation, which I had booked through the Internet at the Ramada Inn on Lexington Avenue. I can only say I was delighted with this small spotless, warm, welcoming hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing friendly spot to return to after a hard day's work in the city.

  • Pros: warm and delightful, peacefully quiet

Great place to live in New York City!!

by WongChiSung

I stayed at the Quality Hotel Eastside on Lexington Avenue and I was very impressed at the service I got for a meager $100.00 a night. The location is excellent, the hotel room was lovely - clean and trendily decorated, and the concierge was extremely helpful. Well worth the price, and a better standard of service than I have experienced elsewhere in New York. Just to let you know that this hotel is now called the Ramada Inn. Will citysearch please change the name here too so as to avoid confusions.

  • Pros: very economical, good locations
